Out of the nominees, these guys seemed like the only ones pioneering. I'm always so blown away by how utterly unique they are.

I absolutely love seeing Florence Welch rocking out to them at 0:25. It's cool knowing that two two artists you adore really enjoy each other's music.

any idea what's going on around 3:08? i just started listening to these guys (they're awesome, i love this record) due to their bassist stepping in to tour with foals, and wanted to watch some live vids. it sounds like some DL4-type stuff but after some quick googling, it doesn't seem like he uses one.

100% agree with a lot of the comments. I’m a big fan of Wolf Alice and King Krule but these guys really deserve more recognition. Such an underrated band and I hope they continue to produce their music! Really happy got to see them live at my uni :)

EE deserve to be popular everywhere, they're my favorite band ever and I love them so much
@Springleaf.6 жыл бұрын
EE should be exactly what the Mercury Prize is about.. Innovation and incredible execution. I always feel weird when they're referred to as 'math rock', doesn't seem like a fair genre. But i guess if you span so many genres, they become irrelevant
@Cereal_For_Lunch6 жыл бұрын
Gaming Videos for the Apathetic Youth their stuff the first album and stuff from before that was far more math rock than what they release now, I would agree that math rock doesn’t really fit them now
@71hammyman Жыл бұрын
They started out "math rock" under a different name I think, some of it transpire into their first record, but I would never label them that.

Simply, THE best band in the UK. And they have been for a good few years now. Yet, inexplicably, they don't have nearly the following they deserve. I just don't get it. It's not like their music is even that 'challenging', a lot of Radiohead's songs are probably more challenging than EE's, but they're massive. I'm off to see them next month in a small/medium sized venue, when they should be filling arenas.

They always divide people-usually into those who think they are self-regarding and pretentious and those who think they are the smartest, humblest, most astute social commentators in music, plus they do write banging tunes. I feel it's better to polarise then be just 'meh'!
