For everyone wondering what the lyrics are in Jonathan's amazing falsetto rap bit in the beginning, here they are: 'Slip from the trees to the dirt to the menace to the wild to the car, under snow, cut to ribbons like a coral to your shin, like a manacle to swing Fresh from the breast now a river running fat, to the manor born a rat, to the manor born a flea, to a flood to a drain, now a rubber now a chain' (I got the album early 😊)

Oh and here's the next bit: 'Plump from the sugar-water pump, with the city at your back, to the cannon with a match, from a milk into a mass grave, never mind that I can take that Bones in a bowl like a toad-in-the-hole, take the shape of the mould, like a mummy on a pole, and a merry little head bob around when you're dead' Perhaps the greatest lyrics ever?

they really should have made this song a couple minutes longer and dropped a fat drum groove behind it at the end. it seems to build and build, and then its just over. but still a great song

I think this has to be the worst song I've ever heard. The start seems okay, but when it gets to the "it's okay to feel like a fat child in a push chair, old enough to fire a gun" - I switch off, you have a brain for a reason - string words together that don't just rhyme. I couldn't actually tell if this song was a joke when I heard it on the radio, everyone who listens to it asks me if it's a joke. IS IT A JOKE? TELL ME, IS IT A JOKE.
@sverresigurson9 жыл бұрын
+Lawrence Bishop Don't know if i understand what you mean. I'll admit the lyrics are hard to understand, but what songs has meaningful lyrics these days? The lyrics do rhyme, though. You forgot "old enough to run" before "old enough to fire a gun". Maybe the feeling of being a fat child in a push chair, old enough to run - old enough to fire a gun, is something one can relate to (?)
@sverresigurson9 жыл бұрын
+Lawrence Bishop I'm at a loss, but i love the song

Basically (what I think) is that the line is about you feeling inevitable in trying to stop the bad things in your life, and how it's okay to feel that way, so it sorta relates to everyone in a way
@ArminJohansson8 жыл бұрын
It's about being able to run, and not doing so in spite of the fact that you really should. And how that can be okay. We don't have to be productive all of the time, sometimes It's fine just to be lazy.
