I think the problem is not just KZbin, It's Humans; I think younger people who majorly watch this videos prefer entertainment and not educational content. So there is a decline in learning.

They do not have the attention span for anything that lasts longer than maybe 30 seconds. It's why all the huge thriving channels have this "add/adhd" style of editing. It's also not just younger people thing. Loads of adults have this nasty scrolling habit inhibiting them to get stuff done, learn or progress in and with their life. The lock down years really messed up a lot of people from all ages.

That's so true. And the "younger generation" also seems to no longer have that much interest in building things on their own or to learn how something works. When I was a child, there were lots of quality electronics kits in the toy stores. Nowadays not even one.

It's disheartening to see how KZbin is increasingly pushing short-form content and encouraging endless doomscrolling through their algorithms. The platform seems more focused on keeping us hooked for as long as possible, rather than offering us the freedom to choose what we want to see. It's a sad and pathetic situation, to be honest. Despite being a KZbin Premium subscriber, I've found myself compelled to install KZbin Re-vanced, just to escape the incessant bombardment of shorts. It's a clear indication that something is amiss when your paying users have to resort to third-party solutions for a better user experience. I hope KZbin takes note of this and reconsiders its approach.

100% agreed, finally came across this channel today and the content is absolutely amazing. KZbin is at fault here as even search is broken, it tries to show a few results and predominantly shorts which I hate and never watch. I use Unhooked to get rid of them but even after searching for this type of content it doesnt show up properly. This showed up in the recommended tab for me but I typically keep my home pinned to subscriptions. YT really needs to revert this nonsense as the short form garbage content is not at all what I want to see as a viewer. I am also a premium sub and have sent hundreds of feedback emails asking to be able to turn off shorts and fix search but no luck. The algorithm is just getting stupider and stupider and they dont seem to be listening. I don't know what to do tbh as this kind of content as-is is pure gold, the sensational stuff is just brain rot for society. Not sure if Nebula or other platforms would be better but YT is going downhill ever since the algo stuff switched a couple years back. They need to revert, moving UI stuff around is one thing but this type of change to the core functionality of the platform is literally the worst

Also another reason for the low number (and I’m sorry to say I am also guilty of doing this) is that your subscribers may see your posts for new content (like the recent Q&A for example which I saw on Instagram) but because we are busy with our own lives we kind of put it to the back of our minds knowing that it will be available for us to watch when we get around to it, which of course sometimes takes many weeks/months. SO ALL THE SUBSCRIBERS TO THIS CHANNEL PLEASE MAKE A POINT OF WATCHING THE GREAT CONTENT, LIKE, COMMENT AND SHARE AS SOON A POSSIBLE

Don't stop. A channel that teaches theory inside really creative projects, AND in an interesting way is rare. But you also point out where you make mistakes and what you did about it. That's as useful to me personally as watching it done right the first time. And trust me, the Tik-Tok culture isn't to everyone's taste. Scale back, take time, do what you need to do to keep sane - just please don't disappear.

Your videos are great and super useful to the builder community. Don't be afraid to explore new ideas though and let go of things (not all of them) that are not of use to you, even if you've put a lot of work into them. Just try to remember to make big decisions after taking some rest and not when tired or frustrated, something usually shows up if you have enough time and energy to keep an eye out.

I'm hoping you can keep things going. I noticed the change in KZbin around spring of 2020. I can't tell you how many times I submitted bug reports to KZbin, because my recommendations were completely messed up. I found this channel when a disability gave me extra time to explore my hobbies... Like others, I enjoyed the Arduino projects, but I really enjoy projects that bring it all together. It's a shame the algorithm favors shorter format videos. One thing that would be great to see would be a KZbin educational app. Maybe you and the other channels that have been impacted could put out an app on Android, Apple, Amazon FireTV, Roku, Microsoft, and all the major Linux repositories. It could just be a KZbin shell with no algorithms. Just all of the creators who register their channels on the platform. Open source the project and allow the community to develop the app. Hang in there and happy holidays! I hope things work out 🙏.

100% agree with the crappy algo's. I don't want to see most of what KZbin pushes on my feed. I rely on notifications to alert me to new great content, such as your own, when it's available. Don't forget, this was your hobby, so regardless of what happens remember this is what you like and no one can change that. It is a pity if your channel ends too but don't depend on it either, there are other platforms to use. plus it hurts because you are emotionally and personally tied to it. the issue is, your not in control of what happens to it either, so step back from this attachment and just find another way and don't invest as much into it too if that's the case... be water my friend and don't let obstacles slow you down... it will be ok. in the meantime, enjoy being a father, there's more value in that and is worth more than you think! all the best to you and your family and for 2024. I really appreciate you and your content and channel. For what it’s worth, this video was in my “suggested” feed! The algorithm is a funny thing, eh? But you can tell there has been a shift. Three of the channels I subscribe to have either quit or seriously reduced the amount of content they are producing. I’ve noticed that KZbin is more likely to feed me content that will raise my blood pressure than content that enriches me. I have a HUGE part of my life dedicated to a hobby that KZbin doesn’t even recommend videos for anymore because it thinks I’d rather watch a police chase or someone getting into a fight in public. I’m not sure what’s going on but it isn’t your fault, and I hope you’re able to weather the storm and that eventually the pendulum swings back the other way. Thank you once again for sharing your time and knowledge. Nothing but respect to you.

I found your KZbin channel a few months ago and I've already learned so much, I love the content you create and I really hope you can keep going and that this is just a temporary down, I would help if I could but extra funds are not currently available, I wish you the best of luck and we need engineers in the future especially with the way technology is going were going to need people who know how to utilize it properly, It makes me sad to see what KZbin and other platforms are doing to people who want to teach people useful knowledge, and now I'm certain it's not just me, I've been searching for educational videos on electrical engineering (even just PDF file schematics on google) and I remember when I could do a simple search and find exactly what I needed..... but strangely now the algorithm doesn't give me anything useful It's either all very low quality or outright false information or even has nothing to do with what I searched for, against what I want to believe I'm finding a dark pattern with the social media sources as if they're throttling valid and useful information on purpose and I wouldn't necessarily blame it on people becoming less interested in learning I think there's something more to it. please continue to fight for the freedom of information.

I've been watching so many educational videos but even though I'm subscribed I don't get recommendations from some channels. P.s i never hit the bell or I think it is set to "Personalized". Your electronics videos are very unique and interesting and I love them. Other than the algorithm not working in your favor, is there a way to make the videos appear more engaging for the algorithm without compromising the actual content? I've heard the algorithm likes faces on the thumbnail. May be there are also companies out there that can help detect what's clogging the recommendations? Regarding tiktok, I barely see videos of people I follow UNLESS I go to the following tab. This is really weird... I wish you best of luck and I'm now setting the bell button to All (it was set to personalized) to be sure I watch them. Cheers

I've seen channels with only 50k subscribers getting anywhere between 50K and 200K views (views are usually non-subscribers) and your channel should have a lot more views even from non-subscribers. Dude your channel is amazing! I can't find another youtuber doing what you do. I watch it for inspiration and ideas I am interested in - and your videos are very high quality and entertaining. And your English is good! I would recommend making courses in English because that is the de facto language of engineers these days, the lingua franca. Don't worry too much about the low views on Holidays - people are busy during that time with family. Hopefully you will see a boost after christmas or when the New Year comes and students make a resolutions to really focus on developing their skills. So I found your channel only last year - and I have followed a lot on electronics channels since 2012 so it's amazing I did not see your channel at all until 2022! My thinking is this: how much time do you spend promoting your videos on Twitter, Reddit, Facebook etc? Because it may be that you just need to boost your marketing - your presence on the internet. Boost the signal a bit. If I found you 6 years after you started your channel, and I follow like 30 electronics channels - then I think this may be a marketing problem - and you cannot rely on youtube for that completely. Another thought may be to use the algorithm to your advantage. If you know that KZbin will boost the new iphone and you know the release date ahead of time - then maybe create content that focus on using the iphone with an electronics projects (like "Use the iphone 20 to control your lights or helicopter etc.) so the algorithm sees your iphone related content and boosts it. I'm not saying you need to predict the algorithm but you know the dates big releases will occur. Also maybe browse through trending and see if you can connect one of the trending to electronics. And these video you make likely should be short 5 min video teaser pointing to longer video content. Maybe 1 or two a week. Anyways good luck - I hope you will find the solution to keep going.

you are not alone :-( all my favorite creators are going though the same thing. its crazy and 100% the algorithm its also the content farms. it sucks and you tube only seems to be interested in showing me garbage in my feed ... and the notifications are broken and im being subscribed to random channels and unsubscribed from some of my favorite channels its crazy. i wish i knew what the you tube community could do to fix it ..

It's a real problem for sure. Even as a smaller channel I see it as well. We also battle viewers using ad blockers which hurts the creators. Hang in there man. Keep up the great content. I pray it will get better soon! Happy holidays to you as well!

Other youtubers are reporting that too. One answer that works for some is to create a newsletter so you can keep your subscribers in the loop regardless of what youtube algorithm decides. Breath! Best wishes.
