Just to point it out, he wasn’t using the book as a silencer like most people have thought. He’s using it to block the back splash of the blood that would get on to him. A book wouldn’t do much to silence a gun shot lol

I love how this far cry game kinda goes against the grain of typical far cry game. In every far cry we are a foreigner to the place we’re at. But in this one we’re an island native trying to go to a place we’re foreign to. In other far cry game the villains are overly obsessed with you, but in this one the villain honestly doesn’t care about you. Your just another freedom fighter that needs to be stopped and killed. That’s what makes me like this far cry game. I’m super glad they made the protagonist and the villain very interesting and Anton is one of the best villains in the series

Also I think Anton killed Diego because he knew Dani couldn’t protect Diego. Diego is a Castillo meaning that even tho he’s different from his father he’s still his kid so mfs are gonna gun for him to kill Diego. Meaning that Diego has for look over his shoulder constantly for the rest of his life. Plus it’ll be a bad look for the resistance harboring the child of their dictator. Plus it comes full circle. Diego never had a choice in who he wanted to become or be, Anton was telling him what he has to do and who he has to be. In the end Anton still had control over Diego’s entire life, even taking it.

The book is not a silencer/suppressor. It is used to keep the blood from hitting the shooter, and hide the fact he is pulling a gun. Still it a win for pulling double duty.

It actually has been sort of confirmed that all FC take place in the same universe as when you get Boom Boom as a companion there’s a note in the crate he walks out of talking about the state of Montana and that “some weirdo raving about a monkey god paid extra to make sure this dog got out.” Confirming that Hurk sent away Boomer. Meaning that at the very least…FC 5 and 6 as well as FC 3, are all in the same universe.

I would say FC6 is in new "Ubiverse" because there's changes like D50 becoming real Desert Eagle now and they "retconned" some stuff like Vaas possibly being alive, same case for watch dogs legion where they also have desert eagle instead of D50 and also made Aiden, Wrench and Jackson a bit different to what they were in WD1 + retconning the timeline and saying WD1 takes place in 2014 and WD2 in 2017

Agreed. More good guys die in this one than is usual for these sorts of games: Papa Montero, Jonrun, El Tigre, Jose, and Diego. You expect some of these like Papa Montero and your friends at the start but all of these? It adds up.

The actual argument he proposes goes deeper than just simple whataboutism. He says it - it is not a history lesson. It is a head start. It is not just that "others have done it before", it is "others have done it, and to this they collect the blood money dividend from it, while preventing others from doing the same, securing their advantage, and covering it under the guise of morality".

In the mission where you go to Esperanza for the first time to kill Castillo, Dani seems to hesitate when she is asked to kill him. Maybe this was because she didn’t want Diego to be an orphan like herself. Idk that’s just something I noticed and I think it shows in other moments throughout the game.

Castillo also has another point. In a cutscene, he asks Clara over the phone "Even if you get Yara, what will you do with it?" I find a point in that cuz another statement supports him that "You can't extinguish fires with free elections." They will form a temporary government to take over until it is possible to hold elections but one of them will go corrupt and yara will go full authoritarian circle. That's just how life works in Yara, I guess.

38:22 This scene is also pretty similar to the scene in Downfall when Hitler speaks to Speer in 1945 about Germania's (Berlin's would-be new name after the war) planned design and development in Berlin while it's under attack from all sides, a situation very similar to Anton's at that point.

For those unaware, that wasn't just a scene for the film. That happened. Hitler *obsessed* over his Germania plans and model during the last weeks of the war, as the Red Army was closing the vice around Berlin. Though it wasn't Speer he talked to about it, Speer was...uh..busy, but there was an architect hand-picked by Speer who constructed the model exactly to Hitler's specifications. He'd pour over *every* tiny detail, down to minor errors in the scale that he asked to be fixed. It was the only escape he had from the horrors he'd brought upon his nation and, in the end, himself.

34:49 Something I don't think you touched on, I feel like his change in demeanor had nothing to do with any kind of fear or anything underhanded. I think he was genuinely beaming with pride for his son, especially when you see the look on his face. That's shock, sure, but the pleasant kind. His little Diego finally acted with purpose, without doubt. He saw what he wanted done and did it. You mentioned earlier that there's clearly a loving father deep down in Anton, and this is another place we get to see it. You even see him genuinely smile as he turns to cut Dani down.

In response to 28:45 I've done a tiny bit of research and found some interesting tidbits plus I came up with something new. The Brazillian Military has a motto: Fortuna Audaces Sequitur which is Latin for "Luck follows the Brave." There's also audentes Fortuna iuvat which is (roughly) Latin for "Fortune favors the strong" but you could switch "Strong" for "Brave" or "Bold" and it would still fit. I think it would make sense if "Luck follows the Brave" was relevant for Dani and "Fortune favors the Strong" was relevant for Castillo, like two clashing fates or ideologies.

The Julio interrogation scene is a reference to his character in Breaking Bad. Also I’m surprised that Anton didn’t comment on Hawaii’s sugar canes history. For those not aware, Hawaii was a sugar cane and pineapple plantation that used Chinese to “contracted” Japanese to Filipinos to work on the plantation. Interesting fact.

I played this game in one of the best ways for me I think. I started with El Este because the game wanted you to go to Bicho. Right when I was losing interest, I headed over met Charizo, unlocked the God Panther, and it became a hole new game. Then the rap scene on the roof and I was instantly hooked again. Great game as long as you know its Far Cry.

It lets the player choose the character that will best represent them. Personally I don't mind if games make a FMC the default or only option, but a lot of people get angry nowadays when games have only a FMC or only an MMC depending on whether or not they are "woke" or "anti-woke", so picking both is a "safe" decision for a company that wants to maximize profits. Best not to piss off either group. I should note one side complains about games lacking representation, the other side complains about having too much emphasis on it

With this "Be the Villain" DLC I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft achieved that Hero/Villain balance by having the player play FC7's Villain from time to time, either as flashbacks or as a secondary story. A good hero needs a better villain, so maybe the Villain could be a chance for a power-fantasy before the Hero uses Tools of Opportunity to take them down and still the game's best equipment. Post-game stuff could be about the Hero becoming the new Villain, taking the Region as their own and becoming no better than the guy before them.

When Dani says "When Tyranny is law, Revolution is the answer", it's a quote from a Puerto Rican independance leader of the 1930's and 40's named Pedro Albizu Campos. He was a man that faught to make Puerto Rico independant and no longer a colony (because, let's be real, that's what we are) in an uprising in 1950, but he failed. He was arrested and expirimented with in jail, being bombared with readioactive substances. He died in 1965 from cancer, never to see his island become free. Ps - Edited for grammar

One thing I love is when Dani is alone in a vehicle with the radio on she will start singing along, but she doesn't always sing the words. She will skip over the more difficult parts of a song or just hum along. At first I didn't realize that it was her doing it, but when I figured out it was her singing I was in love with her... The first Far Cry where you play as the mercenary on the proto crysis map being chased by mutants had third person cutscenes. Once Far Cry was moved to Ubisoft from Crytech they changed to first person up until 6.

Hope no one already wrote this, but maybe Ubisoft hid some Story pieces in the ´background´ of some Cutscenes. In one of the first ones for example the name of the boat Dani is trying to escape with is called ´San Judas´, Judas of course beeing the Apostle who betrayed Jesus. Maybe thats a bit of ´Background-Storytelling´or I´m just a sleepdrepived guy who played Far Cry 6 a bit too much hehe :D Anyways, nice Video!

41:40 this was already confirmed before, there's talk about what happened in the previous games in this game and others. Also Hurk is a constant - he's in Far Cry 3, then 4, then 5 and new Dawn. In this game he's the one who sent Boomer from Montana to Yara in a shipping crate. So yeah, same world. Willis Huntley from Far Cry 3 is also in 5. The only thing that's a little weird is New Dawn, since the US seems fine in this game (from the information we get at least), and not at all bombed and covered in pink flowers.

I really enjoyed the game, its setting was really good, soundtrack was too. The story wasn’t to bad, one of the only things I didn’t like was we didn’t really see Castillo much minus the occasional cutscene or radio moments here and there but Giancarlo still killed the role! On a side note I kinda wish the capital city was a bit more active and stuff to do there since like 90% of it is blocked off

So possible fun fact, at 19:18 Anton picks up a record for jazz music which I am pretty sure was his mom’s music because during the last mission where you storm the tower to kill Anton there is a small area that is kind of like a tiny museum. In that area there is a case with a picture of his mom that talks about her being a jazz singer and such before marrying Anton’s father. I think it is extremely sad as well that he listens to his mother’s music as he tells his son that his mom died.

I’m having an absolute blast with this game. The combat and gunplay feels so good, I adore the aesthetic and feel of the game, I especially love makeshift weaponry and equipment. The makeshift feel of a the weapons and clothing is so cool to me. The story is alright, the characters crack me up. The sandbox is so much fun to play with. I’m so lost in this game right now, I really don’t understand the 3.5 user score. Sure, it’s a bit uninspired but the great itself just feels so solid to play, my only real complaint is the lackluster AI but the fluidity of combat helps make up for it though. They should really touch it up though. The ammo system and supremo backpacks are awesome too.

Actually had a tooth removed with almost no sedation (first time they had to use 12 freezing needles for me to not feet it), second time they thought 2 would work. The amount of pressure you feel is so much greater than the pain, it feels like your jaw is breaking, while a bullet is slowly being shoved up through thru the jaw. Dani is indeed a badass

as someone who hasn't played any of the farcry games, im definetly going to get this one. the closest thing i have played to this was just cause 3 and it was super fun. Castillo seems like a more complex DiRavello, the characters seem reminiscent of those from just cause, this game just seems like it was made with a lot of care

7:49 I once fly a helicopter to try to board one of the cargo ships you can see in free roam, but it was too far from the playable map. Instead, it triggers the alternate ending. Dani can truly leave Yara anytime

I’m surprised you don’t know about the Far Cry games taking place in the same universe The Jackal from Far Cry 2 is theorized or at least a nod to the protagonist from the first Far Cry game, and while Far Cry 3 is a soft reboot to the franchise, there’s a random NPC that references the Jackal, and the reporter from the second game In Far Cry 4, Willis makes a brief reference to Jason to Ajay, and the gun dealer (I’ve forgotten his name) has Ajay collect blood diamonds, the currency from Far Cry 2 Any references to the last games are lost to me on Far Cry 5 but of course Willis Huntley has a cameo mission and let’s not forget that Hurk has been in every game since 3. As for Far Cry 6, we have the Vaas cameo (which leaves plenty of time for theorizing) Boomer is an Amigo in this game as well as a companion in 5 (apparently shipped from Montana to Yara) and you can find magazines that have Pagan Min on them selling Cocoa or something like that I’m confident that all Far Cry games are in the same universe, or least branching ones with New Dawn and 6

The theme of luck is quite strong with Dani indeed. Don't forget they have the 10 domino tattooed on their hand, which is considered the "winning" domino. Basically if you have the 10, the odds are you're going to win the game.
