Well, excluding Hero's duty which of course just plugged in, Sugar rush has been around slightly more longer than Hero's duty. So, they might learn a thing or 2 about turbo (Hence that Turbo is actually in the game as another character, but they didn't know it yet.)

The one thing, THE ONE THING, that will always, at least, get a chuckle outta me is when Felix tries to act like Ralph and use his hammer to break the bars but then actually ends up doing the castle maintenance crew a favor by UPGRADING the bars. An interesting fact about this movie. There is a reason why they got so many incredible game licenses and never properly used any of them. The original script for the film was loaded with a lot more game references, but they found that the constant nods to gaming made it really distracting, and people watching were more focused on looking out for more easter eggs than focusing on the movie. As a result they needed to cut down a lot on the references, but they still wanted to use the licences they had already gotten. Thus, these really short cameos.

@Khan Family Unfortunately with RBTI, Disney didn't give the crew the creative freedom they had with the first movie, so it ended up giving pointless Disney cameos more screentime than half of the main cast (i.e. Felix and Calhoun getting shoved into a babysitting plot instead of the main adventure, then having THAT get cut at the last minute in favor of cameos and internet jokes so we never get to see what the couple is doing or have any focus on the arcade). The deleted scenes and art book had more of their plot than the whole movie, and even the new original characters barely got to do anything. All this contributed to the director Rich Moore (who also directed Wreck-It Ralph as well as Zootopia) leaving Disney a few months after RBTI released. Basically it's a lesson to all of the people who were under the false impression of "they should've had [insert list of cameos here] and Mario and Sonic show up and be Ralph's friends and get a bunch of references and make the movie into a giant cameo dispenser at the expense of the main cast". Contrary to rumors and clickbait, the crew had never promised cameos to have focused appearances or major screentime. It never works, it just turns the movie into a soulless commercial, and even as a retro gaming fan I'm glad Wreck-It Ralph kept the focus on the cast and setting (which fit the arcade feel perfectly) instead of bogging it down with incessant fanservicey cameos.

If you paid attention to the announcer when King Candy threw his coin into the cup, the said his name but it sounded forced and when he said venelopie's name he sounded ecstatic. It's like the announcer knew she wasn't a glitch all this time but he had to follow his programming since he is, after all, just a voice.

I really like how the Mentos/Cola volcano track is basically what you'd call an off-camera secret, which is commonly found in games like Mario Kart (a racing game, just like Sugar Rush) where there are hidden areas outside the camera's veiw that were never finished and therefore aren't playable or accessible by the players, but in the game's own universe they're still there and can still be accessed by the game's characters. I don't know, I just thought it was a really cool inclusion.

When Vanellope is giving Ralph her candy medal, she makes him kneel down and speaks to him like a princess. A nice little hint to the fact that she has an actual code and is an important character in the game. Edit: Also, look at Ralph's face when he smashes Vanellope's car! His face looks so hurt! 5:05 may I add that in the Italian version the writers added an amazing pun there? Because “Oreo” (said with the Italian pronunciation of course) actually sounds like “Oh Re, Oh”, and “Re” means King. They’re guarding the King’s castle, and they have the word King in their name. They’re saying “Oh King, Oh. Oh Kiiiiing Oh.” It’s perfect. (Especially because many jokes get lost when translating into another language, but there they added a whole new joke that couldn’t have been possible in English! It’s smart!!!)

One thing I utterly love about this movie is how unpredictable it is. Look at the ending for example. When Ralph was going up to the volcano to cause the eruption, it was pretty obvious what would happen next. Explosion happens, Cybugs die, Sugar Rush is saved, Vanellope crosses finish line, etc. etc. etc. The end. Or so we thought until, y'know... "WELCOME TO THE BOSS LEVEL!" Heck, we were tricked into thinking this guy was dead twice now. Once when Felix told the story, and we all assumed he died when Roadblasters was unplugged. Now when he was eaten, still alive. Anyways, so then there's the boss fight and we're all on the edge of our seats, and when Ralph makes that self-sacrifice, it's in NO WAY predictable anymore. Nobody knows what to think. So they just cry. I still get choked up just thinking about it. And when Vanellope saves him, we don't think "oh, this is getting predictable again". We're too busy cheering and jumping up and down and punching the air. Release WiR2 in my country already!

Well, Turbo is pretty much already dead after being eaten by the bug. The bug intimates Turbo according to his makeshift code, hence why he is acting like Turbo, but more monstrous and happy to kill everything. "Watch it, rookie! These monsters become what they eat!" -Calhoun Before Turbo got eaten by the same bug ralph bought to Sugar rush, he was screaming as if he never expected the bug to attack him. In fact, he didn't expect it at all. So, it would make no sense that Turbo got used to his bug form within minutes even if he's alive. In conclusion: The bug becomes Turbo, not Turbo taking over the bug.
@RandomDragonEXE
@RandomDragonEXE 2 жыл бұрын
@@phillipwalling7470 I know this is very late to the party, but another line that shows that the cy-bug became turbo is that when he got transformed, he says " I can take over any game I want!" which is then followed by " I should thank you, but it'd be more fun to kill you!" This indicates that the cy-bug's desire to kill and multiply from "eat, kill multiply" got integrated into his code.

My favorite moment is when Felix calls her "dynamite gal" and you get this flashback to see her backstory of this guy she was going to marry who called her the same thing but got eaten by cybugs at their wedding. It's a great portrayal of a trigger and how to respond: Felix never again calls her "dynamite gal" in her presence--only refers to her as such when he's talking about her to Ralph--and when she marries Felix, her fellow soldiers train their guns on the window to assure that they'll be safe this time. Very understated but wonderful moment.

It's because they didn't rush it through some formulaic Disney assembly-line committee; the film was actually SHELVED for 10 years or so in production. (Very late reply lmao) I think the way they portrayed Calhoun's PTSD and triggers was really well done, especially for 2012. Early 2010s were a mess of edgy jokes and treating mental health like shit, so it's nice to see that they treated it seriously and showed a good example of how easily a trigger can be set off.

The King Candy Boss yells "have some candy!" just like when he wasn't the boss, It's like using dialogue to telegraph their attacks as well as saying a line when attacking, sometimes all the time. (My personal favorite is at least 50% of the yo-kai in the yo-kai watch 2 games yelling "Like this?" before attacking) Also because of how games evolved over time Fix-it Felix and Wreck-it Ralph have extremely kid-friendly dialogue which would make sense as anything slightly inappropriate in those days would not be taken lightly. Hero's Duty is a newer game and so the characters have more adult language, one of the lines was almost swearing. (Bull-roar)

Who else here remembers how 2 beat TMNT: The Arcade Game on 1 credit every time? (1) The Turtle Throw (performed by double-tapping Attack) is a guaranteed kill, but it has a "cool-down" period during which U can't perform another Turtle Throw, so always keep that in mind. (2) Don't mindlessly spam the Attack button all the time -- instead, time your attacks so they're spaced, preventing your opponent from counterattacking. (3) Don't overuse the "divebomb" flying kick -- some enemies can counter it, so only use it 2 knock down enemies when dealing w/ a mob. (4) The game spawns in enemies as U move from left 2 right, so the more quickly U progress the more enemies appear @ once. Moving slowly & cautiously "forward" allows U 2 reduce (but not eliminate) spawn-in, which makes fighting enemies more manageable. (5) Pick Donatello 4 the win -- his simple Bo has the longest reach, allowing U 2 hit most opponents while staying outside their striking range. OPTIONAL, 4 EXPERT PLAYERS ONLY: The longer U play TMNT w/o dying, the total enemies the game spawns in will increase as U progress from section 2 section within each game stage. If U make it all the way 2 the Technodrome stage on 1 life, the number of enemies you'll face can seem impossibly overwhelming! If U play a TMNT arcade machine set up so U get 2 or more lives per credit, U can "reset" this difficulty ramp-up function by letting your turtle die midgame, relying on your remaining life/lives 2 finish the game @ a *much* lower difficulty level (tho the ramp-up function isn't off; it just starts over from the lowest difficulty setting) ...BUT, if U manage 2 beat the entire game on a single life, you'll get a much higher score (which actually records how many successful killing blows U performed). Personal best: 402 points on 1 life, & I blew up the Technodrome.

*Insert Name Here* * btw the term "bug" came from a literal bug. A lab was testing a computer with the vacuum tube processor and it wasn't working properly. They checked the tubes, there was a bug in one of them.
@zenkim6709
@zenkim6709 4 жыл бұрын
@@amehak1922 ... no, not quite. Vacuum tubes R sealed units, so the idea of a bug somehow working its way into 1 of those tubes is physically improbable -- if a vacuum tube wasn't sealed, it couldn't maintain a vacuum inside the tube. However, there is a documented instance of a moth (the literal "bug") accidentally getting caught in an electromechanical relay after it crawled into 1 of those huge, old OLD school computers. The "bug" caused a malfunction because, when the relay triggered, it bashed the bug 2 death. Then the bug's dead body ended up preventing the relay from closing the circuit properly. A report was written up explaining the mishap w/ the dead moth included as "evidence" along w/ the wry observation that this was "the first recorded instance of an actual 'bug' discovered to have caused an actual breakdown in a machine" ... which means that the practice of describing malfunctions as "bugs" didn't actually originate from this incident; it *predates* it.

@@amehak1922 ... true, but the legend of the bug-in-the-tube trips over a simple physical fact: if the "bug" in question found a hole large enuff 2 crawl thru & enter the vacuum tube ... that would mean the vacuum tube had already been "blown" (breached). The legend specifically implies that the "bug" somehow managed 2 crawl into the vacuum tube *without compromising the tube's vacuum containment seal* ... & that only after entering said vacuum tube did the "bug" trigger a malfuction by causing the vacuum tube 2 fail, which is highly implausible. It is far more plausible that this story of the bug-in-the-tube is nothing more than an urban legend, possibly based (however loosely) on real breakdowns that occurred in the early era of enormous electromechanical computers that relied on both vacuum tubes & relays.

Visual effects were pretty great but so was a lot of it. The characters and setting were obviously laboriously designed but they didn't spend the whole movie exhibiting all of it, they explained what was necessary for the plot and implied the rest and left a lot to the viewer's imagination, and you walk out of there thinking about that shit. So like, "North's" center is Wonder, Jack's is definitely Fun, what about the others? Jack used to be a mortal human, what about these other fucking guys? Picture North the merry Cossack man-child making toys for the children of his garrison.

I love how the colors set the mood of a scene. Like he said about the orange of the Out of Order sign giving a dusk feel ( 8:00 ), the scene where she gives Ralph the candy medal is perfect. This should be a heartstring tugging moment, but it ultimately is bittersweet for Ralph. He has to embrace his bad guy encoding to save his best friend. The colors of the scene are darker, grayer and less vibrant. As if a light was leaving his life.

2:15 Fun fact! The Nicelanders have the jerky, 8 bit feel to their moves is because the animators felt that for an older game that was made in an older time and everything was 8 bit, they felt it would be better fitting for the entire environment of Fix-It Felix Jr game to be "squared" The environment shows all sorts of squares to keep the 8 bit feel surrounding it all. (Source: DVD commentary) So yeah you kind of had the right idea of what the animators were going for!

There are ALL kinds of reasons I love this movie. At my age most animated movies, for me, tend to be predictable and... Well... Too sweet for my taste. Ironic that a movie primarily set in a Candyland setting didn't come off as overly sweet. The character development is fantastic as you really get to know all the main players and even the bad guy is understandable and relatable to some extent, which most movies have a generic bad guy for no other reason than the movie needs one, this one is a rare exception. I love the fact that although Turbo is the bad guy, almost all the characters in the movie show bad guy tendencies. Venelope was willing to steal to achieve her own ends, as was Ralph by going to a different game by stealing another character's identity due to the prejudice of the characters from his own game, and last Felix who started out trying to save his game only to fall back into anger and revenge... Fortunately (or unfortunately) for him the hammer that fixes and improves things puts the kibosh on that. Very well developed characters, story, music, and scene development. Awesome movie!!!

I can relate to Ralph because most people fear me and I can see that because I’m clumsy, scary, and not love for the stuff I do but I still do it because if I don’t then who will. What I’m saying is that what you do for the people is more important then being popular with them so they can be happy. I see a lot of segregation and injustice but I’ll never see someone as a victim or a villain until I look at the truth then help the side who are right because history is written by the victors. I find comfort that what I do for my community, family, and friends are more important then me feeling good after a hard day’s work because it’s not called a “hard” day’s work for nothing. “Every changes every second”
