I haven't thought about this movie in forever! Although it might explain my deeply seated fear of bugs now that I think about it because that scarab scene is the stuff of nightmares. Love the running hottie counter and the dad jokes always a win, but then again Lee is a win himself so checks out in the end I think. I want Lee to win George of the Jungle since he brought that movie up. On a separate note I'd also like to see a win video for a movie no one ever talks about called stranger than fiction it stars Will Farrell and I think I might be the only person that remembers/loved that movie.

The first two of these films are awesome, but the third one sucks, and I'm sorry for saying that.

Saw this in the theater yesterday. Vfx don't really hold up, but Stephen Sommers knocked this out of the park.

This was a fun video - both the review and the original film :) You might like "Deep Rising" (1998), as it has the same actor who plays Beni. He plays a very similar character here, except not a backstabber - in fact, he gets backstabbed himself at one point. Definitely a B movie action film, in a good way

I just see a bunch of dancer extras they had to pay from other disney projects, and someone in a board meeting said "Let's put a dance routine in a marvel" and then everyone applauded. If couldn't tell, I'm not a fan. It's not the marvel I love.

I like how gender isn't a factor when it comes to who is and isn't a grade-a hottie! Even as a lesbian, I'm like "Yeah, no, I kinda get it!"

We DO know what happened to Fraser actually: Back injury. He injured his back on set during a stunt in The Mummy 2, which greatly impaired his ability to be a greatly physical actor which was a very large part of what he was known for. There's also some other stuff to blame, but that seemed to really have been the catalyst for his disappearance from the limelight.

I had a classmate in high school who was a carbon copy of Brendan Fraser circa the Mummy movies, and it was insanely distracting. We’re talking the same hair and everything. 😳

Usually love your wins, but why does it matter if nobody in the movie is of egyptian descent? Can only egyptian people play egyptians? Can only disabled people play disabled? Can only autistic people play autistic characters? It's a silly argument and that's why it's called acting.

one of the few parts of this movie that annoys me is that Edgin didnt get the final blow with Viscous Mockery. just some lame insult and she dies. that would be the most bard moment ever, even more than seducing the fat dragon in the underdark trying to kill you over a lake of lava

Random fun fact: Evie’s character was named after lord Carnarvon’s daughter. The man who funded Howard Carter’s discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb. And for fans of the the 1932 original, there are plenty of nods and Easter eggs in the film.

Idk I think it should get at least half a win that the "Egyptian" characters were portrayed by ethnic people. I believe South African, Venezuelan, and Israeli actors vs. white actors wearing blackface. I know it's a small thing but I can't help but compare it to the 2006 movie One Night With the King which is a great movie but as attractive as Luke Goss is he isn't passing as a Persian man. I think a big issue is we need more diverse A listers because a large part of a movie being successful is a loyalty to certain actors being featured in the movie.

Snyder brilliantly chose to visualize the movie the way the book makes you feel about superheroes. It makes them seem pitiful, silly, upsetting, disgusting, or downright absurd and cartoonish. The reason there’s “action” and “coolness” in the movie is because it’s done so over the top that it’s no longer cool. People just repeat that line on the Internet and most of them don’t even know what they’re talking about. They just say it because they’re told to

In Boogie Nights, Mark Wahlbeeg sings “You Got The Touch” by Stan Bush, which played in The Transformers: The Movie during the fight between Optimus Prime and Megatron, and then Mark Wahlberg co-starred in Transformers: Age of Extinction and Transformers: The Last Knight. I also think “I’m Still Standing” sounds better when sung by a Space Marine.

I fuckin love Brendan Fraser, and people laughed at me in like, 2016, when I told them that. I said I love the Mummy movies, Encino man, Airheads, Blast from the past, Bedazzled... but nope. Laughter. Now there's a well deserved ion Brendan Fraser-appreciation renaissance. And I approve. Doom patrol FTW.

This is great, but you totally skipped over one of the best moments in the movie, when Rick actually tries to save Beni at the end. Says a lot about Rick as a heroic figure. And then that "Goodbye, Beni" has so much weight to it after it's been used for laughs throughout the rest of the film.

Okay, 1 - I loved the Mummy and even The Mummy Returns. 2 - I really felt they missed a bet by going back to Egypt in the sequel, instead of ... an Aztec Mummy or a Dracula or exploring R'lyeh. 3 - I still loved the second one.

They could have done so much with these movies. Instead of going against the Mummy every time they could have had Rick fighting Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Wolfman...This could have been the Dark Universe reboot we all wanted instead of what all we've been getting for the past 20+ years

I was 9 when this movie came out, so obviously never got to see it in theaters (though I somehow did see it before "The Mummy Returns" came out). I just saw it with some friends at a theater for its 25th anniversary, and it was a magical experience! Following it up with this, which puts to video so many of my own thoughts, is perfect!
