These filipinos complaining about the price is disappointing. You're exposing your ignorance so bad. 🤦‍♀️ Why would you even compare our local prices with foreign prices? Even regions in the Philippines have different prices for each of these dishes. (e.g. 4pcs Kwek-kwek isn't P10 in my province, it's 3pcs for P20) That's small, well, considering we're in the same country. But how much more in Australia? Have you considered the cost for the ingredients in there? Living costs? Rent for the market? Labor costs? And of course this is a unique foreign cuisine for the locals in there so it had to account for that, too. The comparisons are disturbing. Are we THAT ignorant...

The reason why the prices are high; is either inflation or dual pricing. In the Philippines, there are some cases that tourist only come there for the cheap prices, in order to stop it they increased the prices for tourists. Eg. Kwek-kwek for 4 pcs are only 20 pesos and it only costs 0.36 dollars. To increase it, the either increases it around 3-5 to dollars or its just the vendors who increases it.

@@SimonIsVeryHandsome Simon, I have seen you reply to complain in every comment, however, I just want to let you know that there are a lot of things to consider for this. You can't possibly compare prices in the PH with AUS like that. It's not that simple. You'll have to consider the cost of living in Sydney, taxes and regulations, rent for a space in the market, cost of the imported ingredients, cost for the tent set-up, labor costs, the specialty of foreign cuisines, and more. In addition, different countries mean different economies. I'm sure the business owners have surveyed the reasonable price for the area. And consequently the locals found it affordable. So again, this is NOT the Philippines. And you cannot possibly expect the same price, unless you do business for loss (and not profit) and you just wanted to rot in a foreign, unfamiliar country. Remember, these are just fellow Filipinos trying to make a living. I hope you remember that next time.

You could get a whole paper bag of Pork Skewers here in the Philippines for up to 120 pesos 💀, the Beef Pares is also 80 Pesos Per bowl, and extra 10 pesos for any amount of extras.

These prices are insane. Though in AUD still insane. Heck I'm even thinking of going to Australia to sell Filipino food now.

For the people criticizing the prices, remember that the cost of products there are also mirr expensive so naturally selling price is higher. Another thing is the mark-up here in the Philippines are more often than not bare minumum in order to maintain affordability for the people because we are un a poor country duh so that cheap price translate to more sales thus having enough profit even through the bare minimum mark-up. Comparing to the mark-up of these products in the Philippines', it is probably higher too as people here are more CAPABLE AND WILLING to pay those prices thus the seller naturally take advantage of that and prise the products that way because why would you sell something for example a hotdog for $5 if people are WILLING to pay $10?

the ear part you ate should be used in sisig. We have ear skeweres in philippines but instead of whole ear, we only use the fatty/meaty part of the ear

The prices from the Philippines are not the same as in America. The prices in the Philippines are a bit fair. As a Filipino, I can tell the prices are accurate.

i'm filipino and i too am flabbergasted that something like taho can cost that much. but let's not forget that this market is in sydney, not the philippines. the cost of living there is completely different so it'd be weird (can't find the english word for "lugi" 😭 fml) to sell things with filipino prices lol
