Georgia Peach Tactile Turn pen. 2. Ocaso Solstice with the unreleased harpoon blade (super great guys! Ricks awesome) 3. Of all things…. CJRB Pyrite. Insanely good budget knife. Also ended my trip with my buddy taking me to the ER in Atlanta…. Cut my finger with the Knafs Lander I picked up. Amazing knife.

Been carrying my TKell Combatant for about 3 months now and I love it. Becoming my favorite fixed blade. I really want to get my hands on the Vero Synapse cause I love front flippers (sad there is hardly any new ones anymore), but I know I'll never catch it in stock. One thing that's kind of surprised me the last 5 years or so is seeing all these new knives, all these new knife makers, and still EVERYTHING goes out of stock instantly. If you're wanting to get into the industry, DO IT. The demand is there and the supply definitely isn't.

Bruh!?! You smoke a pipe sometimes? Now you got me listening! Show us if that hobby becomes part enough of your daily life for you to compile a piper EDC, that's a super interesting niche sub-genre of EDC! I struggled quite a while to find my best solution and ended up getting a metal box with compartments for filters, folded cleaners, tobacco and pipe tool. Making the pipe itself more EDC-able is quite a struggle however. Leather rolls don't protect it from stonger forces while hard cases turn me off due to the plastic. I ended up sewing a paracord-loop into my backpack onto which I sling my pipe so it doesn't roll with the other stuff on the bottom of my pack. Got any more elaborated suggestions? PS hearing you got into pipe smoking tempts me to show you my favorite 5th pocket carry EDC: The lighter model "Bel" from brand "Rattray's" (unfortunately, I don't know about its availabilty in the U.S.). Cool vid, thanks for sharing!

The Superlock and Shark Lock are different mechanisms that were developed independently. Both use a bar pushed forward by a spring, but the way they actually lock the blade is different. The Superlock is also designed to be easier to disassemble/clean. Demko and Snecx are two impressive craftsman and innovators. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them acknowledge each other’s work. The Shark Lock I think is only found on Demko knives because it is a copyright. I don’t believe Snecx pursued a copyright for their Superlock and several companies have made their own versions. Some have given credit (WE/Civivi and Sandrin knives). A new knife collaboration made by Maserin and Sandrin won an award at blade show using Sandrin’s version of the lock. They’re calling it the “W Lock” I think, but I’m not sure if official credit is given to Snecx. I’ll have to check and come back to this.
@BestDamnEDC Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Sandrin got the nod of approval from Snecx, I believe.

Hey Taylor, love your videos. You are my first stop for all things EDC review and you have helped me pull the trigger on various EDC items. Some things I thought I would have no use for, turns out they are used quite a bit, which is mostly due to your videos convincing me to try things out. I do have a question, I carry the Civivi Brazen blacked out tanto. Love this knife but the thumb studs are a bit of an issue. It tends to catch on the lining of my fifth pocket when I pull it out. I wrote to Civivi to see if they had any ideas or options, but no luck. I ended up just removing the thumb studs to solve the issue but I would like to fill the hole with something super low profile. After seeing Pete's Pirate Life's new slip joint with the brass pins instead of the thumb nick, I think that would be a sweet option but I'm not sure how to pull that off. I thought I would see if you have any ideas. Thanks again for the great videos!

I don't know for sure, but the Fermi could allude to Enrico Fermi, a physicist that came up with the Fermi Paradox. He sat down and did some "napkin math" (like we could do that off the top of our heads) and basically calculated if there are x amount of stars in the galaxy, based on what we've observed there are potentially BILLIONS of habitable planets in the Milky Way alone. The paradox more or less says, there should be at the VERY least, thousands of other colonized planets in our galaxy, yet we see nothing from anything or anyone that says "hey ppl here!" Basically, we should have seen other life by now if it exists. Supposedly it made him sad with the possibility that we are truly alone in the universe. There have since been theories here and there that try to explain why we haven't yet, etc but, thought you might find that interesting!

Me and my wife introduced ourselves to Taylor at bladeshow. He was a complete jerk. He literally gave us a look as if we were idiots and why were we bothering him. His wife on the other hand was a sweetheart and we talked for a little bit while standing at the Big Idea design booth. I have often heard the phrase. It’s disappointing to meet your idols, and now I know the reference first hand. It was Sunday morning so I’m sure he was tired and I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt but it’s not like we wanted anything other than to say hello. That was the only weird engagement at the entire show, though everybody was so awesome to me and nice, I can’t wait to go back next year

I like knives, but I don't think I'll ever understand collecting so many of them. At their core, they're all the same thing. I understand there are minor differences between them, but they're all knives at the end of the day. I actually just sold my Bugout because it felt cheap to me. Also, knives are only as sharp as you make them from sharpening them. My Boker Kalishnikov is razor sharp because I keep up with sharpening it. That doesn't change brand by brand. I think Benchmade and other expensive brands have done a good job convincing consumers that their products are worth 10x as much as many other brands. Good for them though. Take it to the bank!
