This was my first time watching you and I loved it. I enjoyed seeing all of your projects and seeing so may that I have already put on my list to do. It is fun to see the yarns you tried as I always enjoy investigating new ones. Thank you and I look forward to viewing future episodes with you.

Honesty much appreciated! I knit a dozen hats (8 were Boston Red Sox beanies for my fam 😄), 4 partial sweaters, 2 1/2 pairs of socks, 1 scarf, half a vest, and a Christmas ornament. I'm a slow knitter that is very polygamous, lol!

Did not even recognize you, but your Monday sweater was a HUGE help in me deciding to use up a bunch of second hand dk yarn i got from Vinted and i am actually knitting on it as i watch this! All these knits look incredible though :D

I appreciate your honesty and that you use thrifted yarn! I love seeing your interesting combinations and what some of these patterns look like knit up in something besides the (very expensive) suggested yarns!

Haha yes I don’t believe in suggested yarns 😂 it’s a fun treat maybe if you can swing it, but I think the adventure of using what you’ve got a lot more interesting

I love watching these “all I knit” videos and I found your podcast because of it. You have an impressive amount of makes for a year! I was literally saying “32,000” when you told us how much you knit 😂 I grew up near Boston and live in Maine so the opposite of you. My biggest knitting feat this year was to make five ranunculus sweaters for my bookgroup for Christmas. All long sleeved, and most of them with yarn from stash so that’s a win.

Me too, it's a great way to find new people! You're the first person who's let me know your guess which is totally awesome haha. I haven't knit a ranunculus yet, but 5 is impressive! I love a big gift knit project for people who appreciate them :)

Thank you Emma. Well done! Great work. Yes, the frustrating thing about knitting is when it doesn't work out as planned. It is so rewarding when it does. ☺️ It is indeed a learning process. Best wishes with your 2025 plans. 🥰

I live in the midwest. Really hot, humid summers. I only use linen or linen/ cotton in fingering or sport weight. Tried lion brand Coboo, a cotton/rayon dk and its too hot. Wish i could use part wool yarn in the summer, cause its so much nicer to knit with. Really like your cobalt/peach Friday tee! You're right that the blue makes the peach work for you. .

The knitting for Olive cotton merino is 80% cotton so I’m hoping it’ll be a good option that’s not purely cotton. We’ll see this next summer!

@oliviaoconnor2201 Ай бұрын
@wendyamsterdam8482 the concepts of warm and cold are relative, but to me, from NE with hot, humid summers, Norway (especially where I live) has chilly, rainy summers. Humidity is low, you have lots of rain and wind.
@granolagear

That makes a lot of sense! I grew up with very cold winters, but it makes sense that NE is much more humid in the summer

The halibut is the best one and the size is perfect for you. It actually looks so nice that I have decided to temporarily abandon my current Kaffe Fassett coat WIP and go into the new year making the fishies. Just so happens that my LYS is open tomorrow, ehehehe :D Totally get you about self striping yarns and yellow btw. Got the cutest two skeins of Noro Uchiwa last summer, knitted an oversized lacy kimono sleeve top thing that looked great on me, realised there was way too much yellow (and orange), frogged it after it had sat untouched in my closet for two months. It is has since become my partner´s roller rink sweater.
@granolagear
@granolagear Ай бұрын
Thank you, I'll have to knit myself one this year I think! And yes stripey yarns can be so hit or miss, they look nice in the skein but worked up they can vary so significantly.

The friday tee and the darkblue vest are my favourites. I wanna make them too. The deep and bright cool colors look so nice on you then you look kind of like snowwhite. ⛄ I get the feeling of knitting something the wrong size 🫣 that happened to me when I knit my first sweater this year, the "Hokkaido Sweater". I was sooooo confused during knitting it, and in the end I had calculated my gauge very wrong so instead of size L it turned out size XXL. And I frogged it from bottom to chest and remade it a bit different with putting it on to see how wide it needs to be. Now I'm a bit scared to try patterns again 😅
@granolagear
@granolagear Ай бұрын
Thank you, those are two of my favs too! Actually it would be fun to do a ranking video but I don’t know if could decide 😂 I started the Esther jacket this December and I had to frog the whole first section because my gauge was sooo off even though I was using the exact yarn the sample was in! There’s no winning sometimes
@verina_crochet_garden
@verina_crochet_garden Ай бұрын
@@granolagear that's a bummer if the gauge didn't work out.😓 But I saw a really nice free sweater pattern from pompomxhobbii called "Adorned Pullover" maby that's something you like? Actually I'm more a crochet person, I make plushies (amigurumi) but I got into knitting. I find knitting patterns kinda hard to understand 😅 but I found another one I'm trying now called "drops strawberry bright sweater". It has a circular increase and is the first pattern I try to knit topdown. I do make it in mint

Love this video! I’m very interested in your thrift finds because I have cashmere in 2 weights. The color is ice blue (not good for me) and I have 300gr in 2 stiches icord and 600gr in 4 stiches icord. It was very fun to disassemble and I have all washed and in skeins. Now I don’t know what to do with them. Happy new year 🎉 greetings from Switzerland

I’ve probably got 4 unraveled sweaters in my stash right now! I’m working through some sweater quantities of “normal” yarn right now but I’m hoping to get back to the unraveled soon! I personally think it’s the most sensible was to buy cashmere haha
