WOW, Nora! What an incredible breakdown, what concise and beautiful editing, and what helpful information! Thank you, thank you, thank you. It's easy for me to forget that the money and time I spend with knitting would probably be spent or used in other ways that are equally expensive or time-consuming if I didn't knit. You're also such an inspiration to me in terms of how you track your costs and do whatever you can to reuse and thrift your materials. Cheers to a hugely successful 2024 to you, and more to come in 2025!

You have the right attitude about knitting Nora. When its made by your own hands, your time, your effort and your love, it is a true gift regardless of yarn fibers or brands. Your inclusiveness should be a testament to all and gives me an incite into the person whom you are! Ms. Jo

Great job, Nora! Smart cookie for keeping track all year so that you could create this video and look back at the year. My question for you is, what are your New Year's resolutions knitting-wise? Last year, mine was to learn to double knit, brioche, and mosaic knitting. I only accomplished double knitting because I wanted to finish so many sweaters! So, two of last year's resolutions will roll over into 2025. I have already picked out patterns and yarns, so hopefully, I will accomplish both this year!

I loved this deep dive into your makes and I ALWAYS appreciate your transparency around the finances of the hobby. I've been particularly interested in that too and wanted to calculate cost per wear as well. So... this summer when I was working on a new sweater for the fall, I tracked all my expenses, and then once it was finished, I've used an app on my phone to keep track of how many times I wear my new sweater 2 hours or more. My garment that cost me about $125 to make is now down to $6 per wear, and that number will only continue to go down! I think $125 is a bargain for a hobby when you factor how many hours I spent knitting the sweater, that I'm wearing an ethically and well-made garment that fits exactly how I want to, etc.

The finished project I am most proud of is the trescao jumper made from Drops nord & silk mohair such a beautiful & classic design The process I have finally mastered is 2aat magic loop and it has been a game changer for me !!! I am doing my sleeves this way and last weekend I made fingerless mitts the same way. I have never been able to recreate miits, socks or sleeves the same size if I do them one at a time The struggle for me is real !!! ( same yarn/ needles etc two different sizes aaarrrghh) This year I want to make the cognac sweater and the winter rose sweater as well as continue my obsession with unspun yarn/ sweaters. Goal is everything is to be knit from stash this year Love your podcasts and your positive outlook even in the most frustrating times!!! you are such an inspiration Happy New Year!!

Tip for the Musselburg: cast on 8 stiches divide over 2 circular needles then work your increases. Work your increases and decrease in the way that's most comfortable for you; just be consistent. Use scrap yarn or thrifted because it takes so much yarn.

This was such a lovely video! My personal knit I'm proudest of is my Lata sweater! I asked for the yarn last Christmas because it was my "goal knit" for the year. I knew I wasn't ready for it at the time I got the yarn, but I wanted to spend this year working up and getting it done, and I did! This year I asked for yarn to knit a cardigan that's pattern is definitely an older style of writing, doesn't hold your hand like at all, so I can learn and hopefully knit more patterns from the 80's through early 00's in the future. I've found I like using my Christmas list each year to get yarn for a goal knit for the next year :) #newyear I want to get started this upcoming year with the Sundial Sweater though, I think I could use more circular yolks in my life

Seeing all your knits together I am seeing you have a lot of tilt issues where the back of the sweater is longer than the front. You should consider trying bust shaping. I know you said you didn’t like it with Rebecca clow but I believe that was the first pattern where she did bust shaping so maybe try a more seasoned designer like Jesse maed designs.

I love having something small on the side. I need something that takes brain power but definitely something that does not. I have my grand babies (1 1/2 & 4 1/2 years old). I’m the live in nanny. So I dearly need both. I did several different tank tops this year and I think 6 socks. My grandson really loves watching me knit and crochet and asked last night for rainbow socks and a black and brown jacket. 🤔 Of course I’ll see how soon I’ll get to those.

Hahaha if there was a secret, I’d share it!! I just travel a lot for work and pretty much stop in to every goodwill I can find along my way home! Frequency is key!!
