You don t stop down to 1.8, you open up to 1.8. The fstops work inversely, thehigher the number the less light, that s calledstopping down

I love shooting slide film personally, but when I shoot Portra 400 I shoot at ISO 320 which I have found to be the sweet spot

hey Mitch, love our works, and it always helps give me confidence knowing that there are other photographers out there who are doing the same things I do when shooting film! Would love to hear your thoughts on scanning film. I get my film developed and scanned at a lab and I always ask them to use the Noritsu scanners (I prefer the colours out of that better than the Fuji scanners). I've seen other photographers talk about scanning for the highlights or just scanning for a general average scan, wondering if you have any preferences for your work?

Whether I'm shooting film or digital, I always explain to the model that when I ask for a pose to be held, I mean it. For some reason many models seem to think that they need to "flow" during a shoot - small movements at all times that transition from one pose to another. This can lead to movement and focus issues when you really just want to the model to be still.

Killer photos as always. 0:50 FYI stopping down means going from a small aperture number to a larger one, not the other way around.

40 years of shooting film, I can say that NO serious professional was using C-41. We all shot E-6.

I love shooting on slide film but it’s so expensive :( A single roll of 35mm e100 costs $22

Hi Mitch. Love your video, AND your work. Stunning. I am wanting to get a Mamiya 645 Professional. Does the viewfinder that you use on the prism display the world as we see it with the naked eye e.g. not upside down/left to right? Many thanks, Gina.

If I have iso 400 film and set it to 200 iso, do I still need to over expose the shot by 1 or 2 stops or do I just expose for the shot correctly?
