In this video I discuss my likes and dislikes about the 2024 Lexus IS500 sedan. The Lexis IS500 made its debut for the 2022 model year with the same 5.0L V8 engine from the LC. The IS500 doesn't have too many changes over the regular IS sedan with just a few small tweaks and all the power one could ask for. With this in mind, the vehicle certainly doesn't offer all of the same performance (think track capability) that others in the segment might, but it does offer a V8 which adds to the overall experience. With an older interior, it certainly shows its age but that doesn't mean everything is bad. I would consider taking a look if you are in the market for a sports sedan around the $60k price point or on the used market to save a few bucks. On the key fob, press the lock button twice and on the third press of the lock button, hold the lock button down. That should start the car.

I agree about the Enkeis..both the silver from 2022 and the dark gray for 2023. In auto mode, the transmission definitely could do for a mapping update, but I mitigate those issues by driving it in Sport+ and Manual about 98% of the time. Swap out the Bridgestones for the Michelin PS4S tires and the performance is night and day! Incidentally, installed my 2nd pair of PS4S' yesterday. Love those things. 🙂 Thanks for posting!

As an owner of a 2022 IS500 Launch Edition I can say you've noted many similar observations to other reviewers and are definitely on the mark. One overlooked element is the questionable interior materials used in some areas. The terribly cheap plastics along the door cards and dash scuff and scratch wayyy too easily. That said, 2 years into ownership and there are zero squeaks and rattles so it's definitely Lexus quiet. This lets you hear that marvelous V8 engine and sublime Mark Levinson audio.

My Lexus dealer actually replaced my scuffed up dashboard after six months of ownership at his cost of $2700. Now I don’t even touch the darn thing

I have a 2023 IS 500 Performance. Turn signals still drive me crazy. 2024 I believe could be the end of the V8 for this model. I don’t think this car will depreciate as much as you mentioned. Everything else you said I agree with.

The price of this car in the used market is actually going up. Which kinda make sense as we are seeing less and less v8

I like the BBS wheels. They look like tuning forks which is a nod towards Yamaha who helped develop the 2ur engine.

CC is actually reviewing a 2023 model, not a 2024. Viewers need to be aware of the misrepresentation. The 2024 IS500 gets a new Special Appearance package with an eye-catching Blue Vector exterior, blue contrast stitching on the black faux leather interior, matte black 19-inch split-spoke wheels, and a SmartAccess card key. Incognito is a new exterior color for 2024.

I got an LC, but my kiddos complain about no room, should i get one of these ?

This would have slightly more room than the LC but not a ton more. I really enjoyed both vehicles but the LC Convertible offers an experience that is like no other.

I own both... the IS500 has much more room than the LC500. IMO, the IS also performs better. The LC feels more special though
