As a poor woman from a third world country, we live minimalism because we don’t have money to buy anything. We work to much but our money is extremely inflacionated, so we don't have "buy power". I've always lived without proper furniture and old clothes and sometimes I had just one pair of shoes. When I started to work and got my own money and was able to buy stuff, a table, a proper bed, clothes, shoes, wardrobe, cabinets... I got so happy to have my house full of stuff to clean and organize. I look at all my mess everyday and I thank God for owning all that I have. Life is different for each one of us.
@ChristianSimplicity3 жыл бұрын
Wow, a lot people in first world countries take our stuff for granted … but it sounds like you worked hard & care about your things! Great to hear! God Bless 🙏🏻
@RawFruitGuy2 жыл бұрын
Also, more than just taking stuff for granted. I think more of the affluent west know we can pretty much get whatever we want when we want so the luster of ownership isn't as exciting. I believe as more of the world gets a higher standard of living/education... we will see more minimalist.
@aUNCtarheeel2 жыл бұрын
Calipso Aiuxa-- but imagine if more of us lived like this is the west how much money we would have to help people in your situation! Here we just waste our money on stuff when as Christians we should.be good stewards of it and help others.
@hannahrh33252 жыл бұрын
No offense but you were never a minimalist you were just poor. Minimalism has nothing to do with the amount of stuff that you own it’s a mindset, it’s about only owning things that bring value to your life. I hate when people bastardize the term 🙄😬

minimalism is a process to declutter everthing in our mind when we young and mindfullness our body too at the end our life.thats why minimalism is mindfullness n fell to free for everything. start from thing n the body at the last. can we imagine our body will decompose some day no matter what, who i am n what i do.

As a Catholic, I'm trying my hardest to be a minimalist (still a longggggggg way to go!) but one thing I can never have too much of is relics. So it's nice to see a little prayer space in your room; not many people show that.

Yes! Even as a minimalist, physical prayer items are ESSENTIAL. I am now a Orthodox Catechumen! I have started collected Icons because they enhance my prayer life (: Relics, Icons, anything that helps you during prayer is a must have (don't get rid of it). Thank you & God Bless!!

i suggest you to have a coverup for your mattress, not an entire set of sheets, just the mattres coverup, it's better for hygene and to make your mattress last longer and keep it from dust and bugs, since that all is going oh the coverup that you can wash every now and then, and your mattress doesnt get permanently firty, especially if you dont want to get a steam cleaner, that is really more expensive and cluttering

Things laying on the floor and a messy bed always make a room look messy, even though the room may hardly have anything in it. Your closet is empty, so why not put your two piles of clothes in there on something minimal to get them up off the floor? A small lucite side table can hold your water glass and wires laying on the floor and would look much neater. And that secret dungeon room with a tv on the door and a bulletproof vest inside was creepy. Just my observations!

I'm a junior in highschool, and was a minimalist all of middle school. I got into fashion and started accumulating a lot
@ChristianSimplicity2 жыл бұрын
I have been a minimalist for about 3 years. Fashion can be cheap, fun and minimal if done right! like shopping at thrift stores. The main concern with accumulating a lot of stuff is it is expensive$$!! and make sure you aren't buying stuff to fill a void in your life. Sometimes when people feel stressed, lost in life, separated from God = they attempt to fill that void with bad habits!

Something I sometimes do with underwear and socks and possibly sometimes t-shirts is to wash them at the same time as I shower to cut down on laundry, also if you hang damp t-shirts in a humid bathroom when they dry the humidity takes all the creases out of them without ironing.

No furniture, thin matras in the floor for sleeping, several clothes, few modest plates, glasses and pot for cooking; but they still wear colorful necklaces, bracelet, headband and flowers in their hair.
