yes! honestly that is why i rather get my clothes from discount stores such as ross or dd’s + thrift stores because it is basically the same just not the trendy big name on the tag yk? or even if you do find trendy clothes, you aren’t draining the bank account for it! ❤

i like the points you made! i would say overconsumption is also possible through thrifting. i've been thrifting since middle school and found that i would more easily overconsume at thrift stores since they're usually more affordable or have one-of-a-kind pieces. I think as someone that is also really into fashion, it is easy to fall into the trap that thrifting solves all our problems.

i'm a part time reseller and literally the amount of clothes at the goodwil bins is insane..... so many of the clothes dont even end up being bought and they end up being shipped to countries in South America and create a health hazard to the people in those communities and the ecosystem. I aim to be more conscious of what i buy and when it no longer fits or not my style i ask my cousins in Mexico if they would like them, or i do a swap with my friends.

Oh it absolutely is!! With how quickly clothes are swapped out, and those bangin' deals, it is very easy to over consume - that's precisely why so many people bring their fast fashion habits to the thrift :( I totally agree, I feel like us fashion fiends can really go hard while shopping, whether that's secondhand or not.

(to your second comment) HONESTLY! With all of the goodwill bin videos I've seen, I'm always siting here like 🫢 with how much there is, I've always heard a few stories of there being some nasty things in the bins - that's probably the main cause of these health hazards! I know this isn't the thrift store's job, but I find it so odd how they aren't required to clean garments before sending them overseas, or anywhere for the matter!! Props to you for doing that, that's incredible!! I *love* to do clothing swaps with my people, it's the perfect solution to keep it out of the dump! 🌞🩷♻@@Valeria-dm5sx

I was using iMovie. I just got a new Mac and upgraded to the next best thing…but I forget what it’s called🙃🤪. I suppose I need to take some time and figure it all out! I’ve been wanting to learn how to do a voice over for quite some time. Sooner or later latter I’ll get there…maybe 😂. I had no idea iMovie was capable of all of that! Wonderful job making such a fun and engaging video.

Looking up how-to's on YT is a great resource, especially when dabbling with new editing software, but honestly just figuring things out on your own is also a great way to further learn and understand the software. Like I've been using iMovie to edit my videos for the past 5 years, but I didn't really start messing around and learning my own groove until about two years ago, and now I'm having a blast with editing!! Ooh yes voiceovers can be tricky, my best piece of advice is to always have water on hand and don't be afraid to re-shoot bits!
