animal lover Billie wrote this song about the relationship she has with her brother. It's about when she had a dream where she "jumped of the golden" the golden gate bridge and no one seemed to care. She then woke up and that's when the chorus comes in and her brother is talking to her :)

(tw // suicide mention) this song, “everything i wanted” is about a nightmare that billie eilish had, where she k*lled herself (the lyrics “so i stepped off the golden,” the golden gate bridge) in that nightmare, no one cared; her friends said they didn’t like her and her fans mocked her however she wakes up and her brother is there; she knows that no matter what happens, her brother will always love her and be there for her it’s a horrible thing to experience, really other things i think about is how it goes “i had a dream, i got everything i wanted” her dream was about suicide. “everything i wanted” was her dying. there’s also the outro which goes “if i knew it all then, would i do it again?” having all this recognition and all these eyes on you, im sure it could be very scary.
