After the video premieres, I'll be answering frequently asked questions down here :) Q: (Egg section) Wait, but you can't get the egg while on the weird route, so there's no way it would play into it, right? A: Ah, yep. I completely forgot about that... it's going to be more likely that on the weird route you won't be able to do whatever the eggs unlock. Whoops! Q: (Release Dates section) Mid 2025??? And final release in 2030??? Are you insane??? A: Yes I am insane, but also those dates are the very latest possible, and I made that section before the last 2 newsletters. Early 2025 is more likely for chapters 3-4, but honestly 2030 would make sense for the final chapters release if more never-before-seen mechanics are added.

I remember Toby explaining once that doesn't actually have any lore significance, it's just that he couldn't figure out how to get it to come from Susie. So Kris' sprite is actually just off screen. He said this in the 2020 livestream where him and Fangamer played through Chapter 1

I think Deltarune's neutral route will end with world being saved from destruction but Susie and/or Asriel will die. Because of this Kris is going to throw themself from Mountain Ebott creating a final parallel to Chara and a sad ending for neutral route. This is my crazy theory anyways

my personal guess for chapter 6's secret boss is seam. given the current pattern with secret bosses and soul colors, it seems like chapter 6 will use the orange soul for its secret boss, and orange is obviously one of seam's main colors. they're also obviously important to the overarching story with the secret bosses, given their knowledge of shadow crystals. so making them either the final or the penultimate secret boss would make a lot of sense, IMO.

Here’s an idea: Ralsei isn’t part of the prophecy. Think about it. A human a monster and a… Prince of Dark? Well duh Ralsei says they’re a prince of dark except they don’t really have that claim right? They call themselves a prince with know subjects, and we never see the king if they’re the prince. If they don’t have any subjects they have no right to royalty, as I could just as easily go into a random ghost town with no one in it, live there, and call myself the prince but that wouldn’t make me the prince. But weirdly enough we have another prince. Lancer. Son of an actual king and pretty major character. I smell something fishy going on here… Also thank you so much for not saying Kris knight must be canon and actually giving proof of why it isn’t, I’m tired of every single theory yelling KRIS MUST BE THE KNIGHT despite the evidence not working, and this is a breath of fresh air, so thank you.

I think our goal as the player is to find the vessel that was discarded. Which personally I feel is the person who talks in the code. Partly because well. The vessel is saved in the code of the game so its not exactly gone gone

The major evidence for Kris Knight theory is that we were shown in Chapter 1 that you aren't instantly transported to a Dark World upon entering the fountain. Kris and Susie walked around the closet for some time before falling into the Dark World. Kris could have easily made the Chapter 2 Fountain the previous night and Noelle/Berdly stumbled into it. As for how they ended up at the desks, Chapter 1 also shows us you can end up in a different Light World location upon exiting the Dark World. Kris and Susie move from the supply closet to the abandoned classroom. The other major bit of evidence is that Kris pre-planned the Fountain we see them open at the end or Chapter 2. In Chapter 1, the living room TV is unplugged. However in Chapter 2, the TV is plugged in. This means Kris plugged in the TV overnight knowing they were going to open a Dark Fountain in the living room. This to me debunks the idea Kris just learned about how to open the Dark Fountains from Queen, as they clearly had prior knowledge. I feel like the main hiccup people have to Kris being the Knight is that they often ascribe motivation to Kris that we simply just don't know. Like Kris wanting to go on fun adventures with their friends and opening up a Fountain innocently. That's doing the thing Deltarune is trying to get us not to do, you're imprinting onto Kris. You're seeing your own desires in them/seeing desires that might not be there. We don't know their motivations. We don't know what Kris knows or wants.

I 100% believe that we the player/Red Soul are fighting against Gaster for control over Kris, and that he is forcing Kris to open the fountains. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the constant teasing of Papyrus showing up is a massive red herring, and that the friendless brother Sans wants us to hang out with is actually Gaster.

as interesting as a lot of this is, i do pretty heavily disagree with the idea that ralsei was super dismissive of kris's feelings post spamton neo. for one thing, kris didn't actually ask for them to talk about what happened; susie was the one who brought that up. it's true that ralsei says that he doesn't think it means anything and they ought to move on, but the idea that he did this because he didn't care about their feelings doesn't feel all that accurate to me. it's possible he's hiding the information for their own good; alternatively, he could be in denial it means anything himself. it should be noted that spamton neo does not specifically point out kris as the ONLY puppet on strings; in fact, he suggests ALL THREE of them are, including ralsei himself. secondly, the snippet of scene that you showcased leaves out the fact that kris explicitly said "yes" to susie's question. susie asks ralsei what he thinks, to which ralsei is telling susie in that moment that kris may not want them to fuss over them (it should be noted that he says they "seem to be shocked", which doesn't display the obliviousness that you suggest here), so it's best not to draw too much attention to it. it's more likely that he's attempting to respect their space. he then proceeded to attempt to distract them; when his first attempt at that didn't work (mentioned by susie as them being hungry but the goosebumps didn't go away), he attempts again. this actually does help kris, as it gets them to start thinking about teasing susie, and susie's response after that makes them smile. if you select "no", what happens there depends on if you hugged ralsei in the acid tunnel of love or not. if you didn't, he attempts a combination of soothing words and a distraction, which once again ends up working. if you did, he hugs kris to help them to calm down. kris is also clearly not made uncomfortable by this hug, as right afterward, kris turns to ask susie for one (odd behavior if the hug made them uncomfortable). when susie runs out afterward, ralsei says, "i think everything will be OK, kris!" after a pause instead of following after her, clearly trying to reassure them. it's clear that he thinks focusing on it too much will cause an existential crisis, hence all his attempts to help are distractions or comforting words about how everything is okay. that doesn't mean he doesn't care about their feelings; he makes active attempts to help calm them down. the saying that he thinks everything will be okay is the kicker, and i think a lot of people missed that part, hence this belief. he didn't have to hang back to say that to them, having already "brushed it under the rug" as people suspect with susie... but he did. obviously all of us know that ralsei is wrong and that what happened to spamton clearly does have a lot of meaning, and i think that disconnect is leading us to be suspicious of ralsei. but is he wrong because he himself doesn't know, or because he's lying? we actually don't know that for sure.

while i do agree with most of your points here (especially with the yes dialogue/hug, i forgot about that part) there are 2 things that still make ralseis responses weird. number one, he immediately dismisses the ENTIRE battle after susie brings it up initially, and only AFTER susie asks kris (and by extension the player) he decides to try and cheer them up depending on what you choose. second, if you choose no, he intervenes immediately, while if you choose yes, he waits for susie to ask him, and then talks specifically to kris. this is another thing that implies ralsei doesn't care about kris quite as much as the player, as he only talks to them and tries to cheer them up after it becomes apparent that either susie or the player care about kris' well being. he also continuously says that it didnt mean anything and to forget about it, which while he could just be trying to make everyone feel better he also could be trying to prevent something bad happening with the player, as kris is a puppet on a string to us.

@@DailyDeltaNews youtube seems to have eaten my reply with the link to toby saying this, but you can find it by simply googling “toby fox tweets canon”. i definitely agree that things like the qna are lore accurate even if papyrus isn’t canonically logging on to real world twitter, but in the tweet toby fox made about the tweets not being canon he very succinctly said “Tweets? Not canon.” That being said, it was the lead in to a joke so it’s kind of debatable whether or not *that* part is true. I bring this up because it seems a lot of your theories relating to gaster have a lot to do with the tweets and i thought that was quite flimsy evidence, but that’s just my take and there’s a loooott of possible takes on all this
