We have one of these "returns" stores near me. Great on "restock day" - I've gotten a lot of great things.... mechanical keyboards, gamepads, monitor wallmounts and arms... I've gotten 1440p 165hz gaming monitors for $99, perfectly good.

Charles Mingus played the trombone, then the cello, but switched to bass when he was 16 because, at the time, it was impossible for a Black man to find work playing classical music. He also was a composer, bandleader, pianist, and author. Various styles of his playing included advanced bebop, avant-garde jazz, experimental progressive big band, to pioneering the post-bop style. He is considered one of the 20th Century's most important black composers. He has collaborated with jazz legends such as Miles Davis, Art Tatum, Eric Dolphy, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and Max Roach. He was born in 1922 not far from where I live, on the Mexican border, in a small Arizona city called Nogales, but was mainly raised in the Watts area of Los Angeles. Incredible musician with quite the temper, an interesting character, and anyone who enjoys his music should look into his life, and discover who he was.

There's one of these ultra-cheap stores with a similar premise in the shopping plaza down the road from where I live. All items have exactly the same price, and the price goes up or down depending on the day of the week (on Thursday, for instance, all items are exactly one dollar). There're fifty or so tables with totes and bins on them filled to the brim with products. Most of the stuff is junk, but occasionally you'll find some decent items. All of the stuff sold at these kinds of stores tends to be overstock, returned, damaged, discontinued, As Seen on TV, donated, and unclaimed stuff.

Honestly with online websites having Black Friday and Cyber Monday now there's literally no reason to kill yourself going to a physical store anymore (if there was a reason in the first place). It used to be that the physical stores had better deals so it made some sort of sense but now the online retailers are even cheaper AND most of the deals have high stock so you don't even have to get "in line" early to get a good price. Unless you're 80 years old and stuck in your ways there's just no reason to risk literal life and limb for a TV you can get for 80% less from your computer.
