you should have removed all the green parts from the flowers Im a soap maker so have infused oil many times. to keep a beets color you have to leave the root on and about 3 inchs of the tops that way they wont bleed out . but the chiogga beets it may not matter

Congratulations on the new digger and the business deal, wonderful news. One of the ways I use twine with tomatoes is the way you have it tied at the top but if you bury a good amount at the other end where you plant the tomato (or next to it) the twine keeps firm providing stability for the plant. Just a thought. Love your videos, very relaxing and watching how much the children have grown. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
@ourportuguesehomestead17 күн бұрын
I might bury the twine next year, if I can remember to set up the trellis before planting. But they’re quite stable now too

Great you have an income now and a business. I have horses so have piles of manure rotting down to which I add some greens. A couple of weeks ago I threw in the kitchen scraps with pumpkin seeds. A week later I saw bunches of pumpkin seeds sprouting and growing under the tarpaulin, and its winter here so it must have been very warm in the pile. I will now be planting mine in mounds of rotted manure and other compost. Looks good. I live on land in New Zealand.

As a mechanic myself i feel sad for some farmers who has no basic knowledge about engines or farm equipments as a whole. Because when it got broke they run to the mechanics for repairs. Those old diggers is an easy repair. My grandfather, as a farmer, understand this. He has no college degree, but went to vocational school in mechanic, six months school. Now we have a three generation repair shop.We are capable of repairing or overhauling any kind of farm equipments.

You can grate beets to add to chocolate cake mix or brownies. Another favourite is to roast beets in the oven then used in salads and goats cheese & rocket with a few walnuts putting into pita pockets.

I just learned a new way to use beets. Here in Canada a company makes parsnip, red beets and sweet potatoes chips. So if you slice roots thin like the chips and dehydrate them in oven or sun, snd then after cooling with a bit of sea salt they can be stored in glass jar for a long time. I think the process would be the same as sun-dried tomatoes.

The secret to keeping the colour in beets is you must not cut them , don't top and tail them just cut the leaves as close to the beet without cutting into the veg 👍 just a good wash but never cut because the colour will just bleed out 👍

'Punkrock Excavation'. That's gonna give a Damned Clash to Portugese digger establishment I bet. The cooperation with your neighbours on the basis of trust, when there's substantial money involved, is just heartwarming to me. Socialism at it's smallest, but finest. According to some beliefs, children choose their parents. I would tell the youngsters around, that they didn't do very bad. Could've been worse.

If the digger has similar specs to name brand and performs just as well at a fraction of cost because you're not paying a premium for name brand only, those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. As long as you can use it to your goals. You may want to swap out those manual ratchet straps in the name of simplicity and laziness for a cam-buckle system instead and I have the perfect KZbin review video to sell you on that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp-9Y5mKiNx2jbssi=dcMDZ96dlwEEgRhD Urine is a miracle magic fertilizer too BTW so use it if you're not already.
