Hi Eva, Usually I don't tend to comment on this type of videos, but in your case, I think it deserved a bit of my time. I'm an EMT in France, I love to travel, to inform myself on other cultures and countries, and so I feel I see better than most how the world is changing over time. Be it because of the pandemic or other major events. Right now, I have a project, a big one ! Aimed at making this world just a little bit better. Don't know how much of an impact it will have, but I'm hopeful ! Anyway, all I wanted to say is that after years of trying to find what type of person I wanted to become, kind was a bit part of what I came up with. I don't know if it's the only thing that will help in the future, but I know it will get tougher, and that for me, a world without kindness isn't a world worth living in. Stay strong and have fun ;)

I am romanian living currently in US, God bless you for the beautiful stories about my country and breathtaking images from our secular forests, last ones in Europe. I traveled a lot and know how it feels to always be on the road. From my point of view, it’s not a sustainable lifetime in terms of mental and emotional wellbeing. People need a place not only to come back to, but where they feel safe and stable, where they can build a real community, and have absolutely normal and healty habits: gardening, cooking, cleaning, growing a family. Although attractive and dangerously addictive, the virtual world is still virtual and steals you life, little by little. If your soul longs for a nest, start building it.🤗🤗🤗

Ya know, after years of travel and living in foreign countries, sometimes I wonder how my life would have been if I hadn't traveled. What if I had bought that little piece of land off grid and built that small little homestead by hand? What if I had joined a commune as I had always wanted to do? Well, here I am an American, 71 years old, half crippled and living on the tourist island of Koh Samui, Thailand (with the Thai) and I'm looking at the next place that I want to go. And, I tell you what, I always measure my life with this one question. If you have to jump into the box (coffin) right now, would you have any regrets. If the answer can always be an emphatic "NO", then you are absolutely on your life path. The house, the dog, and the horse. If it is for you, it will happen! But as long as the road pulls you, then that's where you belong. But hey, that's just an old traveler's opinion.

Very well said Norman. I am a 74 year old also half crippled old fart living an ongoing dream. Currently here on a lake in North Dakota Perhaps I will yet travel to Thailand while I am yet able. Forty plus passport stamps thus far and perhaps a few more coming. However if this would be my last moment it would be fine.

Totally depends on which forest. In my country, the biggest thing to run into in the forest is another human being...so I generally really feel safe. In eastern Europe and further east, I'd be pretty uncomfortable knowing I might encounter something actually dangerous...like bears, wolves and whatnot.

Eva, why do you have to choose between traveling and building a home? Moderation and balance are important. I see no reason why you can’t do both. Just slow down a bit and build your home and travel when the opportunity presents itself. Know how to decide when to travel and when to stay home? Let your spirit guide you - When you are traveling and you start to miss home, then you go back home. And, when you are home and you start to miss traveling, that’s when you know it’s time to travel. It really is that simple!

An interesting dilemma. You have certainly taken the road less traveled. Yours is the only travel Vlog that I actually follow with any kind of regularity. Why? Because you have such fresh views and they are so positive. I've learned A LOT from the places you've traveled and the people you've met. Thank you. Your approach to unique destinations REALLY open up ones eyes as a way to see people the way they are, not the way they are cast. That is a rare talent. You are not just a Westerner telling other Westerners to come see this place and people, you are equally respected by the persons and nations you travel in. One imagines that you could be an influential voice as a future diplomat, a UN representative, or NGO. More than just a vloger anyway (although I and may others will miss you). As a professor, I've done my own vagabond traveling even as I turned 50 after several years of more sedate traveling, so life doesn't have to switch off on a dime. I would only suggest that if you do go for the 'settled' lifestyle that your consider continuing to get credentials, be they educational or otherwise, that will help bring your talents into wider spheres of influences. Wishing you a happy journeys and a wonder life.

In regards to settling down, years ago when I was scuba diving, I would jump into the water and swim as fast and as long as I could to see everything that I could. I wanted to take everything in and I scared creatures away. Then I read in an underwater photography book about staying in one place and all the life will come to you, sure enough it did. I would sink to the bottom and remain still and sealife came to me to where I saw and appreciated more than if I swam looking for it. Life is communication and in order to strongly communicate one needs a place to communicate from. This is where a stable location comes into play.

Hello Eva, settling down or keep traveling? You could do both! Find a nice house, loyal dog, friendly horse etc. and still travel - as much as you feel like. (Just find a good dog sitter.) My philosophy is: CONTRAST often makes people the happiest, like coming home from a long trip, resting after climbing a mountain, a holiday after a stressful project, etc. Many of us are not "made" for being happy with our situation all the time. So let's change the situation time again and again! Thank you for being so open about your thoughts and feelings in this video. A.C.

Some examples of Islamic teachings that match with you said - "Paradise the home of the generous","Do not be suspicious of people as suspicion can some times be a sin", "Come together with a word you have in common". It's not surprising that your reflections have led you to those thoughts as Islam in inline with human nature.

Khakis Safir You are practicing jihad - the jihad of writing. Your attempt to deceive people that Islam is sweet and fluffy doesn’t work. We see Islam in practice today with the beheading of a school teacher in Paris which was pure Islam put into practice. The Quran is packed with Surahs directing its followers to violence. Some examples which abrogate the earlier verses you quote; Surah 3:151: “We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve (all non-Muslims) ...” Surah 2:191: “And kill them (non-Muslims) wherever you find them ... kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers (non-Muslims).” Surah 9:5: “Then kill the disbelievers (non-Muslims) wherever you find them, capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush ...” We are not taken in by your act of jihad that attempts to sanitise Islam

@@marks7425 I am a Muslim and I have never ever been taught by any scholar to kill or hurt any other person. All I have been taught all my life is to be a good, kind, tolerant , peaceful, Truthful , honest and Just person. Jihad is the fight against oppression and injustice. If a person tries to kill or oppress you, then Jihad for me is to fight against that person and save you. Jihad is also a struggle within you to control your desires and emotions and be a better person. You can search for Khabib Nurmagamedov to know what Islam teaches people. And yes I acknowledge the verses that you have quoted. I have tried to check and verify in the past as well. The context of all those verses is when you are in a war or when there's is injustice and corruption. When you read the other verses of the Quran, you will know what Islam is trying to teach you.

You can do a bit of both. We have been taught to think, to control our every move, but this is an illusion, there is no control, there is only flow in each moment. Follow your heart, because it will never betray you. We are entering a great period of change and I speak of this not in pessimistic terms, but optimistically. In this decade we will start building a world that many of us have dreamed about for years. So, grab the popcorn and enjoy the show.

Eva you will be an inspiration whether you are travelling or homesteading... I love watching your trips to incredible places. Life is a journey of the soul, and now love finds you maybe it s time to be grounded and set up a little home and get a dog and horse and grow some food. Be still and let the answers come... Stay safe , many blessings to you.

@Saiyed Yes and no. The real problem starts when someone wants to follow another person or a small group of ppl. The collectivist mindset is the issue here. Religions, politics it doesn't really matter. It's always the problem of many going against the few it the individual. So in fact it's collectivism going against the individual person.l

I think that why myself and others that travel with wanderlust that seek the unusual, which is adventure, is that we are not happy or satisfied with our situation or way of life. I hope all like myself, will realize and accept what truly makes us happy and content.

You are my mentor, inspiration, everything Eva. You scared me for a while during the video that you were going to give up traveling but apparently, I was wrong. I think you need a break like a month without social media, so you can clear up your mind and have enough rest and go back to where you belong to, the roads :) Your imagination is your strength. Keep up the good work. Love you, get inspired by you, and looking forward to seeing the next episode in your journey.

Your energy is so rare and beautiful. Good luck on any journey. You're so good at listening to your intuition. Do what makes you happiest. 🙂 I went travelling for a few years and could not see myself living anywhere until I met someone in London and I've lived there for the past 7 years lol We've done some travelling together since then but I do wish I could have done more... at the same time I understand that we always wish that that we could have done certain things and life. As you said the grass does seem greener at times. It's funny because now I've been called for completely different things...my journey is beginning again, but I'm learning in life it is important to listen to those calls and to listen to your own happiness as things will work out best for you when you do so. I'm getting closer to 30 now and struggle with wanting to settle down or do more but I've decided to stop listening to society and do what I want. (In a positive way) I'm healthy, I'm still really young and anything is really possible. Your videos really helped me during some tough times and reminded me about this sparkle that we all have have. (And made me want to solo travel again!) It reminded me also of a woman I met a few years back who I swear looked 30 and she ended up being almost 70! She was some what of a world traveler too, and I promise you have never felt energy as beautiful as hers and you remind me of her 🙂 I know you'll be more than fine ❤ Oh and we have a spare room in london and a Frenchie if you ever want to visit 😄

This was such a sweet vlog, very personal. I absolutely love how you show and experience the simple pleasures. Like being in the forest and the quietness, stillness, you show it with fullness of being, I can feel the dampness of the forest. I am so grateful to have stumbled upon your vlogs, you are inspiring me to go camp out by myself. I traveled quite a bit on my own about 10 years ago, latest was 6 years ago, I traveled to India. Then I got caught up with work/life stuff and of course the pandemic happened, and at present moment I am healing a injured knee:((. So your camping overnight adventures are inspiring me to at least maybe go and camp under the stars even if right now I can't go for long hikes:) Soon, I will! Thank you Eva for your spirit, generosity and compassion:))

great video, I just watched your train trip across America and agreed with the sense of nostalgia once its over, I get it all the time on my trips, not as many as your self. I also get that feeling with your vids, sadness of your completed journey but the excitement of you currently being somewhere else, doing something else. I agree, make plans, fight to stick to them, keep plans of exciting things at least 6 months in front of yourself! Also plans are my Plan B, just a direction to go, make adjustments as life happens and locals give you more information on exciting new things to do and see. Romania looks awesome by the way!

Luck probably has little to do with it, but I hope he knows he is in rare company: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXiyc2eVetp3eqs I'm looking for hard headed woman One who'll take me for myself And if I find my hard headed woman I won't need nobody else, no no no I'm looking for hard headed woman (headed woman) One who'll make me do my best And if I find my hard headed woman I know the rest of my life will be blessed yes (yes) yes yes I know a lot of fancy dancers People who can glide you on the floor They move so smooth but have no answers (oooh ooooh ooh ooh) When you ask them "what you come here for?" "I don't know why?" (Head headed woman) I know, many fine feathered friends But their friendliness depends on how you do They know Many sure fired ways to find out the one who pays and how you do I'm looking for hard headed woman (headed woman) One who will make me fell so goo-oo-oood And if I find my hard headed woman I know my life will be as it should yes yes yes I'm looking for hard headed woman (headed woman) One who'll make me do my best And if I find my hard headed woman

Really glad you are addressing those engine problems. It needs doing. As for the keel leak, although the wood seems to be swelling & sealing the leak, you are in a calm sea and not drying out on an uneven bottom at the moment. Personally I would want that keel off, those bolts inspected, those cross beams checking / replacing & then all resealing before I was happy. Could it be that this has been done once before ? Could those round witness marks between the existing bolts & beams be the old bolt positions. Sorry, but I would want to investigate before going to sea. Lots of work & a little cost, but worth it for the piece of mind and safety. A high capacity pump is great, but you never want to rely on it. Sorry guys, but you asked for opinions.
