Everything Is Going Wrong with My Turbo NSX

I just recently sold my NSX, which I loved. But the lack of parts was really starting to scare me off of ownership. Owners waiting months, sometimes over a year for electronics modules, windows, etc. Relying on salvaged cars for rear/side glass is super scary. It was my favorite car for so many reasons (mainly that it crossed the automotive class barrier. I could talk to a kid in a civic or a guy in a McLaren and both were in love with the car) but with the prices sky high it was time to move on. I'm looking at an FL5 as a replacement and am looking forward to a modern 'project' car. Loving the channel, thanks for all the effort and hard work.

Yeah man something about these old their cars gives me goosebumps when they are running and driving right. Not a lot of these new cars do it for me as they are way too computerized and the electronics distract from the driving experience. I am getting my Evo back from the shop tomorrow and have a big explanation as to what happened with that one. Sometimes man I just want to get rid of all my cars and just keep the FL5.

Driving and maintenance is like 1:1 with these cars now. You will not be Done, there will always be something else to deal with. My dad daily drives his 73 dodge challenger still with over 500k+ miles on it. Its not a show car, but he is still able to keep it going. If he can do it, we can do it with an even newer car.

@@BuyYourBuild dang. Yeah. That's a bit disheartening. I drove my NSX for 3 years problem free while I was still paying it off. 2 years ago I had developed rod knock. I had to take the motor out and send it to HQ Engineering. I'm about 4k miles on my rebuild and now other random shit keeps breaking. As long as it's still running fine I can deal with it. But yeah... Car is not as reliable as KZbin might have you believe. 35 years old for a car is getting up there. Keep at it man. When you pull up, you're a legend. Just gotta keep cranking away at it. 🙏

@@SleeperHonda appreciate it man! Glad to hear you are enjoying your Nsx for many miles even though you needed a rebuild. My situation is just dumping a ton of time and money into something that never seems to want to work. so I’m putting it on the back burner for now and focusing on the business and real estate. It’s at the point where there’s just a few more obstacles before I can get to the Tuner, but there’s no rush since it’s about to snow lol

Did you upgrade the fuel pump wiring?

Yes all 10 gauge

I’m kswap and i’m also having issue with voltage drop when boost kicks in .. ended up wiring the fuel pump seperately from everything which helped some but have a 240amp alt waiting to be installed

Yea my fuel pump is wired on a 10 gauge 40 amp relay directly to the fuse box in the engine bay (same terminal as the alternator). I'm gonna do the new alternator and see what happens @@just_nsxing

Indeed they are. Of the 65 cars ive owned this one takes the cake for most amount of money in and zero enjoyment out of it.

@@BuyYourBuild I know. I'm dealing with a car now and it's been a nightmare to say the least. Don't be ashamed to take a break from it. For your sanity and wallet. Otherwise it will eat you alive.
