Everything Is Predetermined - Is There An Individual Doer With Free Will?

I struggle with accepting this concept greatly (as I was taught that we absolutely have free will), but I believe now that we have no free will, although the illusion of choice and free will are incredibly strong, I believe everything is predetermined. Acceptance of this concept does invalidate feelings of shame and guilt, however I still ruminate on shame and guilt (not much), and have to remind myself that there is no other way, and that there was really no choice. As Rupert Spira teaches, the ego is the “clown that takes the bow” after the performance (the predetermined path). Thank you Jagjot for this video message, thank you very much, this is a difficult topic to speak about and incredibly misunderstood especially in the US. Your message is appreciated and helpful and one that I truly believe. You are correct, our human mind is unable to understand this higher truth. Nothing is random, I agree sir. This is also my life’s experience as I continue to grow. I love that you ended this with there is no me, only “I am”, very powerful.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, it is only the conditioned "me" that flip-flops and has difficulty accepting this concept. I completely agree with you that this concept is widely misunderstood. However, when the light of awareness dissolves the notion of a separate doer with free will, the "clown has no option but to put down the bow." It does not happen through "thinking" but through the awakening of the Heart.

The accountability to the society will always be there. Recklessness is there even when people believe that they have free will. We are not the "doers" and we are also not the receivers of consequences, but consequences of actions will happen.
