I guess the Advanced Camera stands a bit (just a bit) above the other improvements. Having the ability to set camera position, angle, etc., is a game changer.

Hi Nuno, we are currently using Lumion and planning to shift to D5. Do you think D5 can handle large model like Lumion? Which one can handle more complicated scenes?

Sure it does. I used to be a Lumion user then switched to D5 for over a year now. For me, D5 has better assets and textures and have been rapidly improving their features. Lumion took so long to improve more features over the past years. Also, its waaaaay cheaper than Lumion 2023

If you have a medium-high to high-end computer, Lumion will be far more slow and heavy after using a lot of high quality textures and assets, and after using the scene effects that give the realism to the final image. D5 doesn't need too much to achieve the same (most of the times better) result, so opening the project, importing archives, saving, etc., is pretty faster than in Lumion. I'm still using Lumion in some jobs (especially outdoor renders) because the grass and vegetation are just amazing and D5 have some good vegetation, but I still prefer Lumion. And also, D5 is a new program with a smaller team, Lumion it's still a more "mature" program with more consistent results and less errors or bugs.

i've been using lumion this whole time, but i want to try d5 since it's free, but i cant seems to understand enough because there is very few video online. and 1 quick question, can u trust the preview in d5 to end result? or no, ( more like lumion)

Yes, the preview is definitely more accurate when comparing with Lumion 12 and below (note that Lumion 2023 with RTX the preview is accurate).

Lumion is going the wrong way, high price, long render times, mediocre quality. swapped this year to D5 and I don't regret a single second.

Why not both? :D It really depends on your needs, but in my case I'm actually using both. Not only for teaching purposes, but for client work as well.

D5 was recently launched, but it's astonishing how Enscape has been left behind to such an extent. Can anyone explain to me why Enscape has fallen behind to this extent

Completely different use cases. I can render several pictures in Enscape in the time D5 needs to even properly start up the render. Even with the D5 direct link Enscape is more "direct" still. Of course the end result is not the same quality of realism, but thats not always needed and sometimes even not wanted. I would see D5 as replacing what we used to use Vray or in Architecture. Its faster, pretty realistic and can handle incredibly big scenes.

I'm sorry but I am really exhausted to see companies trying to sell the caustic as a great and game changer new feature every year since 2019. Rendering softwares usually used in architecture and no one really cares about caustics on the client side

I understand your point. But it usually comes down to a whole "package" together. Caustics are part of real life, and even though at first you might notice it, but it plays an important role. But I totally understand what you are saying, sometimes a client won't notice or care about this little details.
