Ehhh, don't search DST Uncompromising Mode Ancient Guardian Fight, otherwise, you will remember that this is the same Klei that used a mod sample character to make the DS DLC characters.

The new crafting menu feels weird (visually), like a mod, don't know how to express it. It doesn't look like anything else in the game. I'll admit the current game has way too many crafts for the old menu and a search bar is really welcomed.

fun fact: this ancient guardian update is somewhat inspired by ag in uncompromising mode, except instead of jumping and having a 2nd phase, he stomps repeatedly while heading towards you, causing items to fall from the sky he can run into, this also works on the pillars except in this mod the pillars can break.

Klei really just out here blowing away my expectations with this "quality of life" update that has substantially improved both Wolfgang and the ancient guardian, two of my longest running issues with dst. Makes me hope we can get something like this for crab king to make things more dynamic.

Yeah, it's a bit of an adjustment. It's not as bad as I thought though. At first I saw it and was like "Nope hate this" but the categories are more intuitive than before, and I like that they pin the basics to the side on he beginning to help those who might just be starting out in the game. Give them an idea of what to focus on.

This is where I first heard of this update, and my reaction to it all is “YEEEAH BOIIIII!!” I absolutely love this idea, it’s small, and fixes the lamest boss in the game making him interesting by going “it’s not a bug, it’s a feature”. Overall I think I’ll really like this update, if I get a chance to play it because I’m typically busy.

So for the crafting "bookmarks" I'll call em, what if at the bottom there where 2 or 3 multicolored tabs, so you can have 3 presets of bookmarks. Its a bookmark FOR bookmarks! One for survival, one for fighting, and one for other things that don't fit

My only issues with the new crafting tab is that you can’t turn the camera or perform actions with spacebar with it open (so you can’t gather while preparing to craft), and there are literally way too many slots. Why do we need separate slots for all weathers, beefalo riding, weapons and armour being split into two. It makes crafting multiple items in a row so much more tedious

Wasn't that reworked ancient guardian fight from a mod? It's been a long time since I saw it so I don't remember which one it was, but I remember hitting the pillars and the guardian stomp being present. Edit: Yeah, Uncompromising Mode did something similar with the pillars although the rest was different. I don't know how I managed to forget which mod it was since I worked with them in the past.

I think the deerclops changes are fair ONLY if he one shots you if he hits you while you are frozen, that would make him still scary because otherwise he's literally just the easiest boss in the game because you can just walk around him (which you can't do against many other enemies)

The best part of this update? All of it just works. Todd Howard jokes aside, this update might be the best I've seen. Easier crafting, buffed Wolfgang, and fixing monotonous bosses are all small, but they make the entire game so much better!
