Before i understood that food was an exposure item, i thought it was a skin condition. All GPs or dermatologists i’ve seen thought it was just a skin infection or chronic eczema or i wash my hands too much. Even an allergist disregarded the skin and allergen reaction when nickel came up. I had to connect the dots myself. It feels good to have understand what’s happening now. The phrase, “skin is a window to gut health” is what originally made me suspect food was involved.

I developed systemic nickel allergy immediately after my second daughter was born preterm at 32 weeks. It was the most stress traumatic experience of my life - it’s wild I’ve never heard that correlation
@thelownickeldiet2 ай бұрын
yeah it has something to do with the fact that any trauma increases a type of cell death that isn't "organized and neat" and releases things into the "open" where your immune system can interact with them. There are some things in cells that our immune system has not been "taught" to know are safe and "self" and that can end up causing immune cells to think they need to attack it. pretty neat, huh?

I just found you and I’m delighted! I’ve been allergic to nickel for years but was diagnosed last year, along with cobalt and other metals. I’m gluten, dairy, casein, yeast and sugar free. Still getting gastrointestinal problems I stumbled upon research that many foods have nickel in them! My allergist didn’t tell me that. I immediately stopped so called “healthy foods” a week ago and I will visit my Nutritionist/Functional Practitioner. Thank you so much for your channel! I’m so glad I found you!😘🥰😍

Most western physicians are ignorant to this information. We are SOOOO tired of the world trusting the average doctor to write you a note for you to be excused from specific things. 99% of the time, we know MORE than the average doctor and are educating them, if they are even open to the patient educating them. We discovered our nickel allergy from wearing jewelry (earrings, necklace and rings) that the seller claimed there was NO nickel in and that "nobody was allergic to it". The rash developed Allllll over the back of the head , back of the ears, back of neck, shoulders, chest, and fingers. It took over 9 months of it to go away. By rash, I mean, it's more like hives. Welts. We were forced to find our own remedies, and none of it were from the doctors. Also happened from denim clothes made in China and told in the states because China and even American companies wash and spray their denim with these heavy metal mixtures to maintain the colors on textiles and fabrics. The fact that the patients have to educate the so-called experts is GROSS and grossly negligent on the doctors when the doctors are too arrogant to learn from the patients. The gaslighting by the medical community is unethical and criminal. Thank you for your channel. Just found your channel today.

I knew that there was nickel in food. I broke out from a food and when I looked it up it said people who have nickel allergies will be allergic to that food type

Watch out for stainless steel razors and blades if you shave. They now make 5 grade titanium double edge safety razors, and copper razors. Just make the sure for the titanium razors there are no magnets at the bottom or have stainless steel on the handle or anyplace else on it. These razors will be cheaper from what I have seen. The titanium starts at 340.00. The razor blades, I only see stainless steel still, BUT they are coated with titanium or platinum. There are other titanium items on the market like chopstick too.

Yes! Restaurants use rinse aid germicides that continue to kill for long periods of time. Hair salons use similar.

Could this also be the leading cause of gluten intolerance/ celiacs? These sound just like the same symptoms described with gluten intolerance and celiacs.
@thelownickeldiet2 ай бұрын
intolerance, you could probably say that has been demonstrated already in the literature but no one in the states has really seen it/learned about it. definitely not celiacs, though, since that's from antibodies made for tissue transglutaminase, endomysium, and reticulin. however, i could see a situation where one can come before the other and make the other more likely to occur.

What about drinking with stainless straws and coffee tumbles?
@thelownickeldiet9 ай бұрын
I would avoid these if you are either at the beginning of your treatment/protocol and/or are very sensitive and/or are experiencing a flare. I can now use those things with no problem but my immune system is now much more tolerant

I dont get a rash persay from earrings but my ears hurt and i feel a lot of pain after wear earrings for way too long. I can only handle it for maybe a day but I cant wear them the next day. and I haven’t notice a difference with nickel free jewelry. I guess I haven’t tried. but I also have CIRS, endometriosis, IBS, and MCAS and other things i probably don’t know about…this may be one piece of the complicated puzzle of my chronic illness. Do you think nickel allergy and nickel poisoning can cause recurrent miscarriage? I am trying to figure out why this keeps happening to me
@thelownickeldietАй бұрын
I would definitely try it out in your case. I can't really say for miscarriages, because I don't believe I've read anything about that being correlated, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible.

Can someone’s nickel/cobalt allergy show up as rashes around eyes/mouth, even if they don’t get rashes on hands or where jewelry comes into contact anymore?

@meganrodney521915 сағат бұрын
Absolutely. I have a stainless steel water bottle I only used when traveling. My last two trips (May/June of 2024) I had HORRIFIC outbreaks. Sores on the roof of my mouth, down my throat, and on my lips, and a ring just on the inside of my lips where they were touching the water bottle. Looked like canker sores. My lips were also incredibly swollen. I finally put two-and-two together and realized the only similarities were the water bottle I was using. I had been diagnosed with a nickel allergy way back in college (2003), but I had never had an oral reaction before. I'm now doing a ton of research- and have stopped using stainless steel drinkware and flatware!
