Interviewing Howard, the chef and owner of chinese restaurant On Luck Food To Go in East Oakland.
This is the first interview in a series that will specifically cover home-grown business in East Oakland; it will eventually expand to the whole city. This series is part of a larger project meant to show what life is like in the city of Oakland, California through photography, anecdotes, interviews and more. It is a comprehensive project that when completed will cover the entire city, from the San Leandro border to the Berkeley border. He doesn't open in Chinatown because the older Chinese generation won't buy food like that. He's attracting the younger Chinese crowd and non Chinese clientele.

^ true. I am that younger chinese crowd and I love his food. My parents don't enjoy this though. It is too greasy for the older generation. But us American born Chinese love this stuff.
