Guys, bless you. As a blind person who is greatly motivated by minimalism, it is wonderful to have access to this audio book. Now I just have to find the full audio book. I will be investing in this as I know it will add value to my life. Minimalism and blindness work so well together! My head space is so much less crowded now and this leaves memory space for those things I must remember, i.e. Where did I leave my coffee mug? As you can see, I focus on the 'important stuff'. Thanks to you guys and your ability to share, I am living a much freer life today. Much love Jane Day x

I absolutely love that they are so dedicated to sharing their story that they let you listen to it for free. That alone is a testament to their characters and values.

I’ve listened to this at least once a year. It’s a reminder of my poor beginnings, my consumerism and my ongoing journey of minimalism.

You inspire me. I am 75 and retired. For the past 14 years I have lived in a 850 sq ft manufactured home which has run out of storage space. I bring things in but never get rid of anything that has value. (Must have learned it from my parents who went through the depression). People are calling me a hoarder. I just find downsizing an overwhelming task, especially since I am faced with doing it alone. I no longer live near family and this area is so remote my friends move away. Up until now I have been approaching this problem from the wrong perspective. (I keep reading books on organizing your life.) You have shown me with your movie and web site that minimalism is the answer. When I pass on, I wouldn't want my sons to have to get rid of my life's accumulation of "stuff". And until then, I would like a home that is quick and easy for me to maintain. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Gratefully yours, Joan Portello

I live a very minimal life. Thank you so much for posting this as I couldn’t afford it otherwise. I appreciate it. I try to love people and use things not the other way around and have minimized people who do it the other way around and it’s a less stressful life for sure. I hope to find a husband who isn’t materialistic but lives an intentional life but it’s been very hard to find. Wish me luck.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and for making this available on audio. I am sitting in my apartment after being recently divorced, and realizing how much I resonate with you and your mother. Your message touched me deeply today - and healing comes through tears. I am not exactly sure what healed today through my tears while I listened to your story; but I do want to thank you for this. It is time for me to let go of the past and get on the right road. Thanks again...

Thank you so much for the access to your audiobook. I came across an interview with Joshua and loved all his ideas then I found the amazing documentary you and Ryan made, through Netflix. I have tremendous gains from your podcasts and your life work! it really is becoming a movement that is freeing us from the trap of consumerism and discontent. I have no words to express my gratitude for what you guys are and do. Pray for the best for you and the best is yet to come!

Thank you for sharing!!! A couple years ago we were living in 3740 square feet home with 4 beds/5 bath but we were always too busy to enjoy it. I spent weekends cleaning our stuff. I was unhappy and discontent. thanks to your inspiration we downsize to 1150 square feet home and throw away half of our stuff. Now I keep a list of non-food we bring in the home so that I can throw something out. Our goal is to live in an RV so we can travel across U.S. Life is too short to be stuck in the office from sunrise to sunset. BTW, I think Josh would be a better reader.

Joshua and Ryan--my most favorite people on this planet and my inspiration to live with less--keep only what I absolutely need and toss the rest. Thank you for this wonderful inspiring book and thank you also for a terrific and unexpected introduction to the writings of Donald Ray Pollock. Loved "Knockemstiff," his collection of short stories named after the town he was born in, followed by "The Devil All the Time." Funny and fun and great reads.

The print book is outstanding! The reader sucks the life out of great material in this Audiobook with a droning lifeless voice. Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus write well and are energizing and thoughtful in person, on their podcast, and in the documentary. This Audiobook is not something I would recommend listening too or buying. It's really all about the narrator who is not good. They would have been much better off to record it themselves.

OK, i was postponing watchin Minimalism on netflix, but finally i did it. Why the hell did i wait so long. I never been minimalist, but i Understand each word you said, and ... damn you're more than right. It's like happiness now, for Knowing, after listening - how wrong was I, what wrong i did with myself. It's now about learning :) I do mistakes, yes i do - a loads of. I moved from a big house to a smaller one and i have no big choice: I simply cannot gather Things like i used to do. But after moving i did what you already mentioned: I tried to gather NEW things to my NEW place. It's real, geez.. Like i was read - what i did, like someone saw what i did. The book you published, released - it's a Book, a Think - how would you answer to that: should we Owe it in the name of Gathering? :) There are some books we would love to have; it's book-love, but... should we get this item and Have it? :) (it's not translated to polish, unfortunately' i'd love to read it by myself beause i like to read. I mostly borrow books from the library :)

No offense, but this reader is terrible. Every sentence ending on a lower tone kills the flow. There is zero "life" to this read. It sounds like a teacher reading to 10 year olds about sex ed, doing his best not to go off script. I was excited to see this because I wanted to send this to a friend, but I think it will ruin the message. On the flip side, I love your stuff!
@JK-Visions7 жыл бұрын
funny i dont think its monotome. He is really giving it a good effort to read it not monotome. So perhaps its in the eye of the beholder. Perhaps his voice isnt for you. Still one can always read the book. Have fun:)

I think they would have done a better job recording the audiobook themselves. I love listening to the podcast. With this narration, it really feels like he's reading a book out loud - no natural pauses or inflections in tone. Very dry.
