The fact that Nintendo and Game freak has the GBA and DS games as an ace card and not porting them every year is infuriating. The 3DS eshop is gone and the resale market for those games are absurd. They can make money hand over fist with dropping these games on the switch 2 and/or physical cartridges, NOT putting them on NSO.

I think there’s always the potential for GameFreak to surprise us. I did not see legends Arceus or ZA when they were announced. I also think that there’s also a chance for the games to be delayed although I hope that’s not the case. I’m careful with my expectations since the whole Tears of the Kingdom release delay, although I believe that was impacted greatly by COVID.

Legends z-a will be shown in February next month at the Pokémon presents for Pokémon’s 29th anniversary and then released somewhere this year. Mid or late 2025 this year. I doubt legends z-a is going to get delayed out of 2025 and into 2026. And in 2026 the 30th anniversary, the gen 10 games will be released in 2026 which is now next year since we are in 2025 now. It makes sense to release and show the gen 10 games in 2026 during the 30th anniversary year. I don’t think we are getting another game in 2025. If we do get a gen 5 remake then it would be after the gen 10 games release not before and not during gen 9. Pokemon horizons will last 3 years until 2026 since it was delayed into spring of 2023. That is the timeline i’m going and sticking with. The Pokemon franchise does have the Pokemon works now that they made. I don’t know if ports from gen 1 to 3 are coming.

My guesses are likely in line with the most mainstream Before even viewing international opinions, I made my mind over some possibilities and slightly corrected them I'm pretty sure on snivy. Serperior clearly has a visible "fleur-de-lis" symbol that we see repeated at Parfum Palace's gates (also a french symbol) I agree on the fire starter being rather scorbunny or Torchic. Both the ball game they did back then (not sure about the name) as I'd see a cinderace with a racket hand thing instead of being a football player as a nice twist. But Torchic also is a core simbol as the national animal is "Le coq" which is well represented by the Torchic line On the water type, I'd say piplup because of the obvious napoleon reference, or it could be generally inspired by a French lieutenant or something army related Idk about the seals, maybe it's something circus related

I personally don’t think Torchic will be simply bc Blaziken has gotten love semi recently with XY/ORAS. I think Scorbunny makes sense for the fire starter, or maybe even Emboar which I don’t see get talked about much. Serperior seems like the easy pick for grass, but maybe that’s how they pull a surprise move and do Chikorita instead. Empoleon would make sense to me as the water starter, but again maybe they pull a sneaky and go with Popplio for the same reason as above. Plus giving the sinnoh starters attention in the follow up legends game could either be good or unnecessary, depending how you look at it.

my prediction for Pokémon Day is the announcement of a “Road to 30th” campaign, something like a countdown to the 30th anniversary. Japanese companies usually like doing that kind of stuff so I could definitely see TPC doing the same haha for new guests in the new year I would love to see more variety in creators and topics, like Go players, TCG, Unite, Masters Ex, VGC, shiny hunters, anipoke fans and even Pokémon Sleep 😂 and of course I’d like to see some returning guests too 💖

They can NOT wait to release Z-A till the end of 2025. It was supposed to be out late 2024, The DLC for scarlet and violet was really late, Z-A is late. They can't let it be that late. That would be almost 2 years without a Pokémon release. I think Z-A will be out in the first half of 2025 at least. If not the first quarter. It wouldn't surprise me that much if they have a remake or other spin off in the pipe for the end of the year. Maybe for a launch title for the Switch 2, but Z-A HAS to be sooner, and if it comes out after the Switch 2 then they should have just made it a Switch 2 game. What is the point of making it for the old console if the new better one will be out by the time the game drops. Especially since the general consensus is that the power limitations of the switch hurt Scarlet and Violet significantly.

If ZA releases not in early 2025, then the only reasonable time is after Worlds, because they know Worlds players have better things to do before Worlds other than playing a game that's not even competitive, and they can't make it immediately after, cos a lot of Worlds players are streamers and pokétubers, so there's gonna be something like a week delay. September seems to be the right time. And by November they can even drop Gen 10, cos that's the cycle, ask your wife/girlfriend, she'll comfirm how important the cycle is!

I disagree with them on a couple things. They think ZA isn't coming out til fall... It is actually coming out in June/July. For those in the know, the BW remakes have always been in the making by ILCA/Pokemon Works. As for the Pokemon Sleep topic. I've not been a fan of it, but this next year is the perfect time for it. Home is being taken over by Bianca, the BW games will bring back the dream world and hopefully dream radar. I can totally see a SLEEP integration into HOME.

@@HiddenPowerPodcast it’s also not gotten much love over the years, maybe 2 megas, a few regional forms/paradoxs. But tons of mons that are relevant in comp (amoongus, the genies). Now that I think about it the elemental monkeys and the genies lend themselves to fusion very well. Haxorus is a huge fan fav to boot. They also used gen 5 as a soft reboot and I assume gen 10 COULD do something similar. Food for thought, love you guys thanks for keeping me hype during the drought!

Khu isn't reliable anymore... don't reference them. They either have lost their source, or their source isn't well inversed into stuff as they think they are. Even with Legends Z-A being delayed, the problem still is that all focus in on gen 10 for 2026, because of the anniversary year. Even if Black and White are slated to come... they can easily delayed to 2028 (Because they are just remakes), in order not to interfere with Gen 10 and the anniversary. Another problem is that if we get a Legends Z-A in summer (Around June/July) and Black and White remakes in October/November, there isn't a lot of room for Legends Z-A to breath sales wise... the same thing both BDSP and Legends Arceus also suffered from (They were eating eachother sales because they came out close to eachother). Gen 9 then being announced in february (Only a month after Legends Arceus released and 4 months after BDSP), made the marketing for the other games also problematic, because people were already shifting focues to gen 9 at that point and with the release of Legends Z-A, BDSP basically had become absolete and after the summer update for Legends Arceus, that that game bascially absolete as well. For gen 10 announcement in february 2026... if we get both Legends Z-A and Black and White remakes... its especially problematic for both games, due to 2026 being the anniversary year, so the marketing focus will lie 100% on the gen 10 remakes instead of those games, which will hurt sales for both. If we only gen Legends Z-A though, it has a proper 8 months to florish.

Even if ZA is not great, giving them more time and more employees who are experts at modern gamedev will improve their output in the long run. They should strive to make less games per console generation so that each one can be the best it can be. They just need TPC to let them cook. Pokémon needs to go back to having the anime aesthetics, be set in the Japanese regions, have back the sex dimorphic characters, and fun mechanics. I can handle having the characters go by their Japanese source names like how Ralf and Clark from SNK are Ralf and Clark instead of Paul and Vince in the US versions. It worked for especially Erika and Pikachu. There is already US stuff available in the US. Japan is never interested in making US stuff as Pokémon is a Japanese property.
