4:06 Actually, it was confirmed by Nintendo that after agent 8 escaped from the underground, agent 8 and agent 4 moved in together, with art to show it, and live in a nice little apartment. Not only that, but it’s shown in official art that 4 and 8 do hang out together.

Hisashi Nogami confirmed that the Inklings in 2 are 14. Agent 4 is nowhere close to 18. It is a meta joke, and a localisation add on, nothing more. Also, you forgot this very interesting look into Agent 4's personality, in the reason they joined Team Chaos in the first place: "Agent 4 is the type of squid who goes with the flow, even when the waters are raging. This silent squid values freedom and flexibility more than anything, and while it’s rumored that Agent 4 helped Marie save the world or whatever, I’m pretty sure that was mostly Marie’s idea." Inkipedia has some cool insight too, like them having a hard work ethic with their eyebrows often depicted tilted down in concentration, and being skilled in a variety of weapons, compared to Three who likes Shooters best, and like using the Shooter and Dualies best since they're depicted with them more often.

The way I see Agent 4’s age is that they’re the same age as Agent 3 (16 years old as of Splatoon 2), but Marie didn’t have much contact with Agent 3 after the Splatoon 1 campaign so she still thinks of them as 14.

I think the reason Agent four is more of a girl than boy is because if you look at splatoon 3 SPOILERS (kinda) Agent 3/captain the default gender if you don’t change it is a girl and I found out splatoon was aimed to females more than males so yea that’s just my theory A SPLAT THEORY

8 is the weakest agent because they don't own any illegal weapons. They eventually get the octoshot and octobrush on the surface, but it's nothing compared to what the others can use. Agent 3 has unlimited specials, can roll without duallies, and has access to all the specials in the game. But agent 4 could easily overpower them with a level 3 hero shot. The idols are powerless in most situations. Weaponry is the best way to get a relative idea of power levels in splatoon. Logically, the top 5 would look like this : #1 Tartar #2 agent 4 #3 agent 3 #4 DJ Octavio #5 agent 8

Honestly, I think Agent 4 is a girl, because of the promotional material depicting them mostly as a girl. Another sign of proof is how if you don't have any of the Wii U data from Splatoon 1, in Octo Expansion or Splatoon 3, Captain 3 will be a female and will have the default tentacle bangs which were the main hair style for the female inkling in splatoon 1.

Slight correction: Agent 4 is either 16 or 18 in Splatoon 2. If you go by the dialogue Marie uses, Agent 4 would be 18, but if you don't, then the only thing to go off of is how the playable character in the games is actually getting older in real time (since Splatoon world goes in real-time for how long the period of events is). You can see from Splatoon 1, 2, and 3 that the player character is getting taller and older. It's why the "two years older than Agent 3" itself was even debated whether it meant 16 or 18, because people didn't know if it was a meta-joke about how the player/game is 2 years after Splatoon 1, and therefore the character is two years older than Agent 3 was in that game, or if it's because she meant 2 years older than Agent 3 would CURRENTLY be.
