It definitely won't take as long. The 5 years was me working on EVERYTHING related to the comic, from th script to character designs to area designs, etc. That way once I get to making the chapters I can just keep pumping them out. I'm hoping to realease a chapter every 1-2 months! (but we'll see what happens lol)

I fking feel you, dude. I planned to make my short story comic in 3 months over the summer in 2020. I'm still working on it... (to be fair, I've been in college and working 1-3 jobs the whole time, so life happens. It's very short I just can only spend 10mins on it per month lol). Making comics will humble you. Now I'm curios: Did you write your script in a screenplay format or rather like a novel and then broke it up? And also would you be comfortable to share a rough estimate of the word count? I feel like script lengths are not often talked about and putting a let's say fantasy novel with "just" 50k words into a webcomic is a ton of work (noobie me gravely underestimated this)

I don't think there's anything that would warrant a trigger warning, but when the heavier chapters get made I was planning on asking friends and such for a second opinion!

As someone who likes to dissect and analyze stories I read, If I read to comic I would feel inclined to share my criticisms of it (the positives too). I know this is project is closer to your heart which increases the difficulty of receiving the criticism well. Do you feel you’d be okay with me voice what I think could be improved? And not simply from a writing standpoint but also the art (and layout of it) itself. Know that it is completely understandable if you would rather me keep to myself. Irregardless of your answer (or lack there of) I will still fully support you and your comic to the end. I am happy to see this 5 year dream become a reality :). Also, I pose a question for thee: What trigger warnings may be present in the series as a whole (gore, self harm, suicidal ideation, etc idk how dark this story will go) and if you could have a disclaimer at the beginning of chapters that have major triggers + a synopsis of what happened in the chapter that the reader would need to know. That would be much appreciated 💕

Of course! While this project is super important to me, when you share something like that you have to be okay with people sharing criticism and not liking parts of it (or the entire project for that matter). Seeing as I'm still new to comic making and have a lot of stories I want to tell, seeing what people like or don't like is an important thing to look at and learn from. Criticism is always welcome so long as it's constructive! I try to make everything as intentional as possible, so it'd also be nice to see if people can pick up on the things I uncluide knowing damn well people may never notice them (haha!) As for trigger warnings, I'm not sure there will be any. I plan on getting second opinions on that from friends of mine since I can't tell if they're REALLY not needed or if I just became desensitized from the heavier parts as a result from working on it for so long. It's not at all the darkest story you'll read, but I'll figure out if I'll include trigger warnings when those chapters come- they're still quite a ways away! I don't think I'd want to share what the warnings would be right now (just to avoid spoilers as much as possible), but if there are any I can't imagine they'd be anything more than a general "contains material not suited for everyone"
