One of the key skills of Hisoka that people tend to overlook, or to be honest is mostly implied in this one shot manga, is his capacity to copy any ability. By that, I don't mean Kakashi copy, but he has the curiosity to understand the trick beneath a magic act, which he can easily pick up on, and thus replicate if he wanted to. We see this in this one off manga, where he mentions he learned the juggling number just by watching it, and also in the Hunter Exam, while fighting that ex-examiner, when Hisoka so easily catches his blades and spins them saying "it was easier than anticipated". We also notice this tendency of wanting to see beyond the apparent illusion of a Nen ability through his fight with Kastro, going to such lengths to figure it out that he sacrifices his arms (temporarily - haha).

That's why Bungee Gum and Texture Surprise are enough of an ability for him, because he has constant versatility to them due to his brilliant mind (understanding the mechanics behind tricks) and handiness to apply them.

You'd think a back story would give you some explanations, yet it is merely a delightful performance of a younger, yet not less charming Hisoka. Beautiful. There is an Interview between Togashi and Ishida Where they talk about this one shot, Togashi seems to like it and how hisoka's character was handled. Togashi even said something about maybe one day writing something that ties into it, So personally im gonna take it as cannon!

@@roverlimao1944 youve definitely never drawn lol. 5 minutes for the sketches sure but he still had to plan the story, the composition, story board and add dialogue. If he was to fully line art it each page would take over half a day to do, it was a passion project so why burn himself out over it?

It's easily the most versatile possible class, because unlike the condition for Conjurers that the object has to be solid and visible, and therefore a real thing even with unreal properties; transmuted aura can have literally any property imaginable, real or not, and has no restrictions on shape or size during use. Killua makes electricity. Biscuit makes healing massage lotion. Feitan makes a 10,000-degree fireball. Zeno makes energy dragons.

Ishida Sui is a talented mangaka and a huge fan of Togashi, Tokyo Ghoul is one of the best mangas I've ever read, Kaneki is such an interesting character to see evolve. I recomend you read of if you haven't❤ I hope Tokyo Ghoul gets an anime remake (I do like the original anime from 2014, but it was not perfect) Love Hunter X Hunter and Tokyo Ghoul❤❤

This does beg the question, when/how did Ging learn Nen, and was that before he took the exam? I think not, because its implied he basically did what Gon did: walk straight off Whale Island at the age of 12 and go take the exam. An idyllic place like that is not where someone gets introduced to Nen. So this leaves two possibilities as to why he was able to completely dominate his entire class of examinees, probably all of whom were older and more experienced, some of whom might already have known combat skills and Nen. Maybe he did not take the exam right away and learned Nen for a couple years beforehand. Or, much more terrifyingly... perhaps he learned Nen DURING THE EXAM. Over only a couple days, being baptized and then mastering enough of ten and ren to be able to beat back everyone else without much difficulty.

I think some of the experience of being raised in extreme nature as both Ging and Gon were lead to an easy development of Nen - some of the things they both probably do naturally, like invisible stalking, seems proto-Nen to . Also, they both are amazing physical specimens to begin with.

I always figured Hisoka was more about being smart than talented with Nen, that he didn't have the same amount of talent as Gon or Killua, just knew his stuff better, but if he really mastered everything including his own hatsu in but a few weeks, he may be even MORE talented. Now that he seems to care more about the kill than enjoying the fight, he may be a match for Gin or even Netero.
