One of the key skills of Hisoka that people tend to overlook, or to be honest is mostly implied in this one shot manga, is his capacity to copy any ability. By that, I don't mean Kakashi copy, but he has the curiosity to understand the trick beneath a magic act, which he can easily pick up on, and thus replicate if he wanted to. We see this in this one off manga, where he mentions he learned the juggling number just by watching it, and also in the Hunter Exam, while fighting that ex-examiner, when Hisoka so easily catches his blades and spins them saying "it was easier than anticipated". We also notice this tendency of wanting to see beyond the apparent illusion of a Nen ability through his fight with Kastro, going to such lengths to figure it out that he sacrifices his arms (temporarily - haha).

Why would he put an extra 10 weeks into a project that he views as a fan-fiction. youre the only one that views it as making fun of hxh since you have no idea how the art community works. edit: if you think those sketches are below average you should pick up a pencil and give drawing a go. also based on the interview he even said this was the story board. which means its first sketch phase lol. Most story boards dont even look that good. you just never see them because artists arent comfortable showing their story boards.

Hisoka says it's from a popular gum but to me this is the real world inspiration: Texture Surprise comes from Silly Putty. A soft rubber novelty toy sold to kids since 1940s and still made and copyrighted by Crayola today. You can press it to newspaper and it will lift the ink and create a copy of whatever you pressed it against and you can stretch whatever you've copied with it.

It's easily the most versatile possible class, because unlike the condition for Conjurers that the object has to be solid and visible, and therefore a real thing even with unreal properties; transmuted aura can have literally any property imaginable, real or not, and has no restrictions on shape or size during use. Killua makes electricity. Biscuit makes healing massage lotion. Feitan makes a 10,000-degree fireball. Zeno makes energy dragons.

This does beg the question, when/how did Ging learn Nen, and was that before he took the exam? I think not, because its implied he basically did what Gon did: walk straight off Whale Island at the age of 12 and go take the exam. An idyllic place like that is not where someone gets introduced to Nen. So this leaves two possibilities as to why he was able to completely dominate his entire class of examinees, probably all of whom were older and more experienced, some of whom might already have known combat skills and Nen. Maybe he did not take the exam right away and learned Nen for a couple years beforehand. Or, much more terrifyingly... perhaps he learned Nen DURING THE EXAM. Over only a couple days, being baptized and then mastering enough of ten and ren to be able to beat back everyone else without much difficulty.

Ishida Sui is a talented mangaka and a huge fan of Togashi, Tokyo Ghoul is one of the best mangas I've ever read, Kaneki is such an interesting character to see evolve. I recomend you read of if you haven't❤ I hope Tokyo Ghoul gets an anime remake (I do like the original anime from 2014, but it was not perfect) Love Hunter X Hunter and Tokyo Ghoul❤❤

I always figured Hisoka was more about being smart than talented with Nen, that he didn't have the same amount of talent as Gon or Killua, just knew his stuff better, but if he really mastered everything including his own hatsu in but a few weeks, he may be even MORE talented. Now that he seems to care more about the kill than enjoying the fight, he may be a match for Gin or even Netero.

Hisoka pretty much goes around advertising his Bungee Gum ability and someone he's fighting only sees that, by design. Basically nobody knows about Texture Surprise because he doesn't talk about it, and it's designed to be not seen. It's his true "trump card". Machi knows it exists, but likely didn't know he used it on the prophecy. The thing is, he changed it in a way that wouldn't make any sense unless you knew his goal was to manipulate things into a fight with Chrollo. Everyone would think, "If he faked it, why wouldn't he hide everything about the betrayal?"
