Mutant Mayhem was a good film that had the potential to be a great start to a great new series. There's definitely a LOT to like about it, but I think there were some key missed (or perhaps SQUANDERED is a better word) opportunities with the story and casting. First problem: If Splinter has always been a New York rat and has never been to Japan and learned his martial arts by watching old kung-fu movies and KZbin videos, this completely erases his rivalrous relationship with Shredder, who WILL make an appearance in the already-confirmed sequel as teased at the post-credits scene. It will be interesting to see how they develop the relationship between Splinter and Shredder in the 2nd installment given the fact that they changed this key element of the original story (not to mention trying to now explain why Splinter speaks with an Asian accent as opposed to someone from Brooklyn, which would make more sense). And it's just a dumb way of explaining the ninja training that seems to sacrifice creativity for the sake of seeming modern and "relevant." Second problem: What is the point of stacking the cast full of awesome well-known villains like Bebop and Rocksteady if they each have only one or two lines in the whole film, contribute almost nothing to the story, and then they all TURN GOOD at the end!?!? They had a GOLDEN opportunity to recreate some CLASSIC turtle fight scenes with these villains, and completely blew it by having them all just become buddy-buddy with the turtles and move in together in the sewers! WTF!!! Seems like they over-stacked the villains just so they had an excuse to stack the casting with big-name Hollywood voice talent for nothing but marketing hype. Ghengis Frog said maybe three words - not three lines - three WORDS the entire film, and Ray Fillet jus sings his name a few times. They do nothing, say almost nothing, and offer absolutely no meaningful contribution to the story. MAJOR missed opportunity there. Had they preserved Splinter's origins more faithfully and better utilized the awesome cast of villains to contribute something more meaningful to the story, or at least saved some of them for future battles, I think this would have been the excellent movie it had the potential to be.

Well 4 things I don’t like about this movie is… 1: Too many Pop culture references and they really are too forced 2: this movie takes place at this year 2023 which means the characters have those very awfully dated trends and made up words like “sus” and “rizz” and I freaking hate when people say that and it’s like a replacement words just to try to sound cool 3: April’s black again, why do they keep doing this, it’s like they see April as an African American nowadays and it’s so unnecessary, that was only for the 2018 reboot and they don’t have to follow it 4: Leonardo is in love with April instead of Donnie in love with April, the Film Writers Hate Donatello to be with April O’Neil

Yea this isant the badass master ninja from like the 2012 and michael bay movies this is just splinte learning it along side the turtles and just trying to keep them safe which is kinda unique take on origin splinter and the turtles for this franchise but still pretty cool none the less although i do wonder whats going to be the deal with shredder in the next movie because his origin seems to usually be tied to splinters in one way or another

Loved the film. It told us a much different story than just stopping the shredder or some threat that will end New York. It told a story of a journey to acceptance. The turtles are fascinated by humans and wished to live amongst them, not just protect them. It shows how much they want to be apart of society, to have people around them accept them for being different. Which is something that still happens today, especially to those of us with disabilities. We want to feel accepted and respected for what we are, even if we’re different from others because of our ADHD or Dyslexia or Autism. It’s amazing that we saw this side of the turtles, a vulnerable side of acceptance by the humans for who they are.

Splinter almost being gay because of the backlash that it would come if it fully went through and they try to act like it was a editing mistake but really isn't. Why the shredder is not shown in the movie and only shows up in the end. And the Choice to have MrBeast be apart of the movie.

For me, the weakest part was the third act. The way Superfly gets defeated and what happens after felt too convenient and wrapped everything up in a bow. It sort of goes against Leo's motivational speech

I give it 7 out of 10 stars, it was entertaining, but not great. The animation looked good for the turtles but the humans looked very ugly for some reason, also the puke jokes were not nice or funny. Lastly, this whole theme about the turtles finding a bunch of other mutants would've been good for a sequel or third movie, not the first.
