One of my favorites mostly because I have a DVD copy signed by Peter Stormare (interviewed him for radio at the time). He was super excited about me liking that particular movie and told me about a sequel where he would play both God and Lucifer. Dressed in black and polished as God and as he where in white for Lucifer. This was maybe 10 years ago.

I've been watching CinemaSins long enough to know the tub scene is impossible to go without sin, no matter how it was filmed. Isabel brings her own bathing suit - CinemaSins: How convenient that she brings a bathing suit with her EVERYWHERE she goes. Isabel enters the bathroom wearing a bathing suit - CinemaSins: And John just happens to have a spare bathing suit lying around his creepy bachelor's pad that just so happens to fit Isabel's perfectly. Isabel and John leave to get a bathing suit from Walmart - CinemaSins: Movie has time for this. I think CinemaSins just just pissy because they didn't get to see Rachel Weisz in a bathing suit.

If you like this movie, well good for you! You like what you like, but I've been reading Constantin comics for 17 years or more, and for me and other Constantin fans,this movie really, really, really sucks! It's nothing like what the character is like in the comics. He's a real dick and a great con man,and he's played the great con on almost everyone. He's a great character, not a hero, he tries to do good things but they never really works out that well for anyone. This movie could have been way better than it was. The tv was good. You show look that up. You may like it.

Since I didn't read comics I probably don't have the same perception or idea how he should have been presented in movie - I guess that's why enjoyed movie so much. I watched tv show as well and enjoyed it very very much, too bad it didn't get more seasons, just this silly cameo in Arrow. Obviously transition from different media to the movie or tv show can butcher many things. :c Thank you for explaing in depth how Constantine was presented originaly! 🖤

@Jeff Bridger couldn't agree with you more. The tv show wasn't great but the actor was great. Only wished that he was in a better show. But you should check it out if you haven't seen it. As someone who has read the comics, I’d say this is exactly what I’d expect of a 2000’s era Hollywood version of the character. It does an alright job of taking plot elements from one of his greatest stories and abridging them to fit a film.
@jeromed.8433
@jeromed.8433 4 жыл бұрын
@@eliselianaboyd2547 I enjoyed the TV show quite a bit. This one was bland and cookie-cutter - skipping over many elements that required better exploration. The show had time. Chad Kramer kind of mattered. Constantine was a selfish dick, but he tried and sometimes kind of succeeded. Ok, and I'll admit that the hand-on-fire-in-an-alleyway was a really good shot. But most importantly, the TV showcased the character in a way this movie never did. FYI, I have not read the comics. I just have an appreciation for unique and stylized characters.

I greatly enjoyed, “Constantine” & since I never read the comic books, I didn’t know it was suppose to be the same character. Then again, I had the same thing happen to me with Blade. I thought both characters were entirely new so I was just able to enjoy the story on the screen rather than tearing it apart. That being said, I really wish there had been a “Constantine 2” because that end credits scene at the end made it seem like Kramer could either be an Agent on the inside for John or that he could slowly become a serious contender for being his nemesis. Either way, it could’ve been awesome. I never got to play the game but I heard that was good, too.

@@TheKillerman3333 yeah, I guess if you don’t know the comic, all the differences don’t distract you. In the comic, Constantine is a blond, British, bisexual occultist who gets out of jams with his wits and a bit of magic. He also tends to manipulate everyone and everything around him. For reference, he has managed to get one over in Superman, Satan, Darkseid, God, AND Batman. You can see why the differences got under the skin of long time fans, especially considering the socio-political nature of his series. Still, I recommenced the City Of Demons movie if you want to a more comic accurate depiction of the character.

So...he has some kind of "feeling" or "gift" or "knowledge" about when someone is in a certain place? So I get the mirror thing.
