Ok, I've been watching the endslates for a while now and... holy crap. It's been a long narrative journey between the two sides of you, if I'm assuming correctly. But this one makes me realize that you chose FNAF World for a very specific reason. Scott's monologue that you showed on screen- is that how you felt about the reception to Soul Star? And while I've been assuming this for a while, does this mean you're continuing to work on Soul-Star again?
@Charriii5 Жыл бұрын
Tangentially. Full disclosure, I don't plan the end slates in advance, and knew nothing about FNaF World prior to playing it. But the monologue did resonate with me a lot as it pertains to KZbin. As for the "I didn't kill the story, you did", that's not a knock on the audience, but on myself. I want to get back to working on "The Project", but it's hard for me to find the time to, at the moment. I think that's why I started the end slates; they allow me that creative storytelling outlet I don't otherwise have the time for, while also allowing me to connect with you guys on a deeper, indirect way.

That Scott wasn't allowed to make the games he wanted, because it wouldn't sell. People didn't want what he wanted to make, they wanted his scary games. Also, the Clock things If I recall correctly are never referred to as puzzles, and the whole theme of them was the FNaF 3 puzzles to get to the mini games. Cupcakes, Code, Balloon Boy, Buttons, RWQ, all of it. And those are the pieces that we were to told to put in place for "him". Now, I apparently have rose tinted glasses because I didn't see anything terribly wrong with it until this video, and honestly, I really want a FNaF World 2! Hopefully it would have more playable characters, and it could reintroduce FNaF World back to the canon! Did you know FNaF World was originally canon but people hated it? I also kinda... Sympathize? Empathize? Idk, one of those, with Scott. Anyway, I have a game I want to make, and honestly, I've decided that I don't care if my games flop, I won't let it get to me. Because I only plan to make two games. A FNaF Fan game called Heidrun Horrors. And a game that's like Skyrim and Undertale, and idk how to describe it. I kinda always assumed it was Henry (more specifically book Henry). Since Henry in the books made Baby and in the books (spoiler:) Henry builds a robot specifically so it would kill him. Although I don't think in the books this robot was baby maybe Scott just used baby in fnaf world to kill him cause it was supposed to be like a teaser thing towards sister location. Plus when fnaf world came out the original trilogy of books would have been out/coming out (can't remember if they were all out already) and since sister location is probably the only game that is actually sorta close to the original trilogy of books (character wise) Scott probably just decided to use book Henry because he just needed a character to kill to get ppl excited

One theory suggests that the Desk Man is Henry Emily from the FNAF novel trilogy(The Silver Eyes, The Twisted Ones, and The Fourth Closet) because his daughter, Charlotte Emily died after Twisted Ones which filled him with grief and despair. So, he created a set of robots to replace his dead daughter, which are meant to represent Charlie but in 4 different stages of life: a toddler, a child, a teenager, and a full-grown adult. However, even if he replaced Charlotte Emily with robots meant to simulate as her, he still felt miserable and committed suicide, unlike Henry Emily/Casette Man who died in the fire of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place.

Five months late, but my personal opinion on FNaF World is that it's a game that had potential, even for a spin-off. The whole clock quest thing was originally meant to solve the story of FNaF4, since it was the first game in the series that nobody was able to solve right away (and still aren't really able to solve to this day). Like, in the game's files, there's two sprites of the FNaF4 box being unlocked and opened, but nothing more. The biggest reason for this game being so disregarded and was eventually deemed non-canon by Scott, aside from the fact that it wasn't very polished, was because it was released during a time where Dream Theory was potentially the overarching plot of this series. And everybody *hated* Dream Theory, because it essentially meant that all the theories made about the previous three games were... pretty much all for nothing. That it was all in the mind of FNaF4's Crying Child as he lay on his death bed after the Bite of '83 (the various Easter Eggs in that game, like the IV drip, pill bottle, and vase of flowers, suggested that the child was in hospice). While I personally like what Scott was trying to do with FNaF World, I definitely think it would've been better off as nothing more than a fun little RPG spin-off which featured cutesy versions of all the animatronics we had faced off against up until that point. I feel like it could've made for some great merchandising, too, given this was just before a time when toy companies would start getting their hands on the FNaF license. In the end, despite the game essentially being treated as the Sonic '06 of FNaF, I think it's still has its charm, and would even recommend it to others to check out and see what they think, or to simply have a blast from the past.

I am unhealthily obsessed with FNAF and do have the code memorized. But the reason is, at least before Scott disowned this game, we are setting up the FNAF 3 minigame clues. The BB poster, Mangle's 4 buttons, the 4 Golden Cupcakes, the code for Stage 01, and RWQFSFASXC for that minigame, all the different codes

The desk man is actually Henry Emily who kills himself after realizing that he created monsters that will haunt generations.

The person at the end is Henry Emily, the business partner of William Afton and the one responsible for the creation of the original animatronics plus a few more. He was also the founder of Fazbear Entertainment. His daughter, Charlotte "Charlie" Emily was the first person that William killed and then possessed the Puppet. Henry also didn't die here. He dies in Pizzeria Simulator.

To be honest, I'm not sure why I clicked on this video, since I was expecting it to be a lot of complaining. However, it seems like most of the complaining is ironic and nit-picky for the funny, while still having actual design choices critiqued. Great video!
@JoyOfCreativeService Жыл бұрын
Also, to give Scott LITERALLY any benefit of the doubt, it's possible that you'd be able to figure out just from FNaF World what the fourth minigame code is, because it's Purple Guy's hex code of purple, but backwards. Still a very large jump in puzzle difficulty

That endslate... No words spoken, just words read. While I watching the video, I didn't see any meaning in those two paragraphs. But during the end, they definitely hit more than I thought. Every creator has doubts, I do, and now seeing this makes me even think if I'm even vulnerable for burnout (and yet I'm on a Hiatus). And, the fact that Charriii opened the laptop, we don't even see him wearing the same clothes...maybe that version of Charriii is just his inner thoughts manifesting into a person. Not to mention, that entire laptop is filled with words (I can't exactly read them though). I hope you get better

The desk man is Henry Emily from the books. if you haven’t read the books, Henry Emily is Charlotte, Emily,‘s dad and if you don’t know who Charlotte is then you should probably a check the games again but if you don’t feel like it, Charlotte, is the puppet and lefty which the puppet processes so, therefore, Charlotte also possesses.

To answer a few of the points made, FNAF World is deigned to be a meta-game based on Scott's irritation about the fanbase wanting more and more. It's badly designed on purpose, because the fictional Scott supposedly making this game was unmotivated and angry. This fictional Scott was the one respresented as Animdude which was Scott's profile picture or smth idk. Fredbear was designed to supposedly be this AI that would play the part of the unhelpful guide, however his concern for fictional Scott had him supposedly break character and have us do extra stuff to go find Animdude. This was all part of the script, even the Two Fredbears ending. However, the game fell apart properly after this, as real Scott went off the deep end a bit. Fredbear dropped the act for real this time, sending us backstage to go and help Scott get his motivation back by clearing all of his other poor quality games that weren't as finished as FNAF World. However, Scott had, once again, set this all up as another act. The Gray Dude is another projection of real Scott, this being the version of himself that was unmotivated and making poor quality games. However, Scott knew that opening up the franchise with Sister Location by creating Circus Baby would change things permanently, so he showed that by symbolically killing off this version of himself. At least, that's how I see it

Its not even so much as "its not scary" so much so as "Its just a bad RPG" Scotts "Less is more" approach to game design lends itself well to the horror genre where subtlty is key to building atmosphere. But you cant really do that "Less is More" thing in an rpg where the whole point is having a variety of viable systems in place where players can slot themselves into the "role" of their desire.
@Charriii5 Жыл бұрын
That's a very good point. I don't go into it in the video, but I allude to my thoughts on the RPG system in this game during the rant about grinding. Power-scaling isn't well defined because you never know how strong any given animatronic is outside their level. Which helps even less when you can't see the opponent's level. It's a lot of trial and error, from what I gather.

I do think the reason why I liked FNAF world was that Five Nights At Freddy's was akin to that of the modern day equivalent to Pokemon/Pocket Monsters. Hence why you can throw pretty much Five Nights At Freddy's into any video game genre and they would work regardless. Now all that's missing is a Five Nights At Freddy's Mario Kart racing video game.
@Karl_guy Жыл бұрын
22:27 technically, this desk guy should be Henry. Like,in theory,Scott already had some ideas for lore,but because everyone hated FNAF World...because it wasn't horror,he scraped that idea and FNAF world now isn't cannon
@kai_3788 Жыл бұрын
My opinion is similar. I would actually love it if Steelwool Studios/Scott/any other studio made a FNAF World 2 cause I feel like it has great potential to be a fun rpg. Just without all the annoying, nonsensical, and irritating mechanics that hold it back. We can have the glitch worlds, we can have the broken collisions, but just make them more obvious to spot or have characters give subtle hints as to what you’re supposed to do to progress. Like maybe have an npc that acts like a lunatic that says “when I’m walking into that tree I feel like I’m being transported to a whole other world” or something else insane like that. That way it makes sense in world that they’re considered crazy but the player also gets the indication that “Oh maybe if I walk into those trees I’ll be able to make it across this area.” Also with all the new characters that have been added over the years the roster could be insane! Plus the devs could use this game as a way to hint towards the next installment, either via a post credit scene or a secret ending that shows something relating to the next game.

if fnaf world should ever need a sequel, Scott should make it 10x bigger and with no linear story but just a bunch of side mission and a final boss after you walk trough a tree in on of the corners of the world map

People obviously would harass Scott for not making more games so "just stop" is obviously invalid And FNAF is easily one of the best stories, nearly every story is bad at least FNAF was good and well thought out up to sister location at least but it was also comedic and wasn't supposed to exist, (the only parts that weren't well thought out was a couple phone guy and phone dude(fnaf 3) lines and those weren't even that bad, everything else was because it's a game world, and with 4 a dream which made everything make perfect sense, it was retconned to continue the series but really that just means 1-3 1-4 and 1-6+books have their own continuities also 1-VR And Post-VR it's not Scott's fault especially if you want to be upset that he didn't end the se earlier, eries, he wouldn't be able to get any peace from rabid fans unless he sold the franchise to someone else. Also the game is meta(and one of the best examples of metaness at that, although the only people who really do meta right from what I recall is the SCP foundation although they're easily the best at it so the bar isn't super high to be amazing at metaness to be fair but it still is, the MCU mostly is horrible at it for a bad example(except Stan Lee those weren't bad and they were more of a gag than anything) although I do recall there being more but I can't recall) The same model tree thing did suck though, good thing for walkthroughs, also Character rarity was awful I got a team of level 90's from grinding and never got the last one. (P.S. Your tone was too critical to reasonably assume the addressed complaints weren't serious, cinemasins tends to have a calm inflection for example, if you're not serious it shouldn't sound like genuine criticism especially when the series is actually really good, perhaps only because most things are so bad I'll admit that's a possibility but it really isn't a mediocre or just decent series it's at least mostly good, I get being disturbed by children being turned into animatronics though for that reason I'd agree it's fair to call the series bad same applies to GTA for example but otherwise it's good or better pretty darn consistently, especially compared to most things)
