I don't get it. Why do so many people hate Hawkeye and say he didn't earn his place in the Avengers team? I get it. He doesn't have a superpower. Neither does Black Widow. Both earned their place for their unique talents and abilities. Hawkeye was originally a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Everyone knows that. He was trusted by Nick Fury because he didn't just trust the orders he received, but he was willing to call out Fury when he made a wrong call. Moving on, Hawkeye to explain what all that Clint Barton spent decades perfecting since he was a child, he is an expert marksman (being able to use about any shooting weapon from bows to guns though we know his preference), expert acrobatic, master martial artist, and skilled tactician. He can pick up anything that can thrown and make it a weapon. He isn't someone to be written off as useless. One last thing. I know he has no powers. If he went up against Thanos alone, odds are he'd lose. I'm not deluded. He would, however, be great for added support. His arrows, which he typically makes himself, have many add-ons that most people don't use. He can use those to create distractions and buy time for his friends, all the while calculate a way out of danger if needed. He knows his limits and abilities and plans around such. He's a great hero! No one should write him off as useless unless they understand what he can do. Don't care about hate comments. I'm expecting them. Hope you have a good day and thanks for reading!
@kingtickeler2 жыл бұрын
@Casted_Shadows I agree with that assessment. I always thought it would have been cool if at some point there was a version of Hawkeye that was an Elf or Half-Elf instead. Elves exist in the Marvel universe because of characters like Thor since one of his enemy factions are the "Dark Elves". If this new Hawkeye would have been a half-elf maybe his dual nature of wanting to help society but also protect nature and his homeland could have been a cool angle. Also, instead of using Trick arrows, they could have him create arrows magically instead which would be more interesting and practical imo. That way he would have unlimited arrows as long as his magic holds up and with spells creating special type arrows suited to the situation would allow him to tackle problems as they arise instead of having to specifically create situational arrows like normal Hawkeye does. They could also elevate his accuracy, agility, heightened senses, and speed to supernatural levels since he wouldn't be human anymore (imagine if he had the reflexes of spiderman etc). I think those changes would make him stand out more than he does now as the magic versatility would make him something like Half Dr. Strange plus half Spiderman, but all Marksman.
@WilliamWizer2 жыл бұрын
here is the problem. Hawkeye is only useful when we need the arrow of plot convience. his greatest asset is that he knows how to make plot convinient arrows and shot any weapon he can get on his hands (although he only carries a bow instead of a few guns) you compare him with the black widow because they are the only ones that are human and don't use a high-tech armor but you miss that black widow's best assets are... hand to hand combat, acrobatics, psychology, infiltration, ... and looking a lot better than Hawkeye. yes. that's sexist so I wouldn't had included it but let's be real, most fans of the MCU are heterosexual males so they will prefer a gorgeous woman above an average guy.
@kingtickeler2 жыл бұрын
@@WilliamWizer Also to add on to what you were saying, What a lot of people might not know is that Black Widow is not a normal human being either in the comics. She's a Super Soldier in a similar way that Captain America is only her formula was not as perfect. She's actually between 80-90 years old in the comics but still looks like she's in her early 30's because of her genetic engineering done. She also has an extreme tolerance to pain which is canon and has been demonstrated multiple times. The MCU has handled those aspects of her character poorly and they outright changed some of her lore for some reason (like her age for instance), but seemed to keep things like her pain tolerance. That's why it was super confusing for a lot of people when she tanked falls from great heights in her movie and merely walked it off. She does that in the comics but the movie gave no indication that she was special beyond a mere trained human being. So basically Hawkeye was really the only normal human being on the team for the most part.
@WilliamWizer2 жыл бұрын
@@kingtickeler as far as I know, originally Black Widow wasn't a super soldier. they just changed it as a way to explain why she's so great. sort of what DC did with Superman which, originally, his powers came from the diference in gravity between earth and krypton. but they had to change it to justify all his power. that's why I didn't mention black widow being a half baked supersoldier. besides, I like her to be a "regular" human since it's proof that women can be as badass as any man.
@kingtickeler2 жыл бұрын
@@WilliamWizer Originally she was a super soldier as the narrative was keen on having a bunch of countries desperately trying to recreate Captain America. That's why Russia has has the "Red Guardian" as well as Britain having "Captain Britain". Personally I don't mind them making her just a normal human if that's what they wanted to do, but they would need to make her feats consistent with a humans so it's not Jarring like in her Movie. The Scene where she literally fell from multiple stories up and hit objects along the descent and landed like it was nothing, walking it off is something that only a super soldier should be capable of doing like Steve Rogers or Bucky, NOT a regular human being like they made her out to be.

17:50 Kate not valuing her own life is SUPER relatable to Gen Z. Especially the older half born between 1997-2005
Of all the spin-offs, Hawkeye's story made the most sense and was a better fit in the MCU. Renner really hit it out of the park with portraying a character who suffered PTSD when his family and loved ones were dusted, then when he became a blood rhirsty killer, and finally, when he had to watch his friend and soul mate die to save the world. Add in being deaf--I'm surprised they didn't make him an alcoholic. This six-episode show served its entertainment purpose.

Personally, I liked the “Hawkeye” show. It’s very entertaining, it has great action sequences (the abandoned toy shop sequence in the third episode is fantastic), it has good acting from Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld, and Hawkeye/Clint Barton is - in my opinion - an interesting character. My criticisms are that there is at times too much focus on the new character Kate Bishop rather than the title character, and the plot is pretty basic. As for the humour, it’s okay - there are some moments that are funny and others that are cringeworthy.
@sharonkurth53372 жыл бұрын
Kate Bishop is also the title character. The idea is that she is taking up the Hawkeye mantle because Clint is a normal guy who's been through a lot and isn't who he was back in the first Thor movie anymore. He can't keep avengering forever so she is taking over as Hawkeye. They are both Hawkeye so the show is about both of them.

and to go off sharons comment, this is the one of the only legacy examples in marvel that work for me. either because im not a huge fan of hawkeye (the avengers game made me a fan as he was the only character i liked and only in the ronin fit) or because the show does the work of making Clint distinct enough from Hawkeye and even Ronin that i believe they are both rebuilding or as the show implies rebranding the “Hawkeye” name. Clint is still clint and Kate is still kate but they are both the title character Hawkeye

ok to anyone saying that Hawkeye is a lame character because he uses bow and arrows as his main weapon need I remind you, he almost took down the ENTIRE HELICARRIER WITH TWO OF THOSE ARROWS. not to mention he is an expert marksmen who can hit his target accurately without even looking at it, he is a master assassin, skilled in hand to hand combat and has the ability to turn any object he holds into a weapon, and his arrows have been tricked out for even more damage, and yes he is an avenger and deserves to be one.

its because people make the argument that gif should be pronounced with a hard g because the g stands for graphics, which makes the hard g sound. the issue lies in the fact that that is not how acronyms work, and the letters don't mimic the sound of the words the letters are from. so now, because he is trying to make a point/running joke out of other peoples criticism, every time there is an acronym he pronounces the letters how they are pronounced as the first letter of the word they represent. i like it because he has a point and i too pronounce it with a soft g because anything that gives me more time to think about peanut butter is a win in my book.

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton was the best thing in this whole clusterfuck of a show. 🏹 Hawkeye in a nutshell: The first two episodes are entirely about kate. Altough, they do introduce echo, who gets about as much spotlight as yelena, (which means less than kate, but more than Clint). The third episode is the first one, where Clint finally gets to do something cool, only to be interrupted by kate stealing the spotlight. Fourth episode introduced yelena, and the main focus would be on her and kate, and they even stole Clint’s "he made a different call" thing, and gave it to kate. Fifth episode's main focus was on yelena's and kate's random friendship, that came out of nowhere, as well as introducing kingping. As if this wasn’t enough of a circus already. And finally, the final episode was all about kate, and her very forced friendship with yelena, that looked like pathetic attempt to recreate Clint’s and Natasha’s relationship. Also the biggest screentime Clint had was him on the ground, and yelena screaming, and beating him. The end. I'm pissed and disappointed. Poor Clint. You deserved so much better. :(

Is your delusion that Clint doesn't deserve to be an Avenger? It continues to be unfunny.

The scene with Hawkeye killing all those Japanese criminals was amazing, definitely one of the best scenes.

I think the biggest sin here is the 'replacing' the clock tower instead of repairing it. The standard operating procedure these days for something like that is to bring in a bunch of experts in Architecture, history, and pair them up with reconstruction companies that actually specialize in this sort of thing. They've rebuilt more than a few cathedrals in Europe after WWII this way. Granted these days modern tech makes it a lot easier, but the point is, it's still a thing!

I’m surprised they didn’t sin Hawkeye’s logic on “atoning for his sins” in the way that not killing people means more angry people he injured alive with vendettas against him and his family, i know that they sinned the “his atonement” may never keep his family safe but it’s not the same as “his atonement” actually endangering his family more than just killing people and not leaving angry dangerous people alive to hunt him and/or his family down.
