Monster House is a pretty decent kids movie. It's got some issues, and it's not amazing or anything. But it's not a bad time at the movies. Let's check out its sins.
Next Week: 2 sins videos. Not 100% sure which ones will be ready, but we will have sins.
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

I think the circus cart being so far away and the kids being near "the only house for miles" are just interpretations of how nebbercracker just remembers the most significant details of how things happened. That is probably why there seemed to be a random bush the kids hid behind in what seemed to be the actual middle of nowhere, because it's still just the neighborhood

It's most likely because of animation at the time and budgeting. Less people meaning less time spent modeling characters, paying voice actors, finding ways to incorporate said characters etc. Its most likely just to save time and making it more simple to follow.

2:34 "No siren. Never a good sign." As an EMT, I can say that no siren is more often a good sign than not. Usually, running without lights and sirens means that the patient is not critical and that "running hot" would not significantly impact patient outcome. On the flip side, even if someone has coded, we will use lights and sirens in the chance that resuscitation would still be possible.

Loved this movie, loved the actually interesting story of the house and the old guy. This movie has some actually really good horror scenes that are way better then a lot of horror movies trying to be scary but end up kinda cringe or a overused cliche. The biggest issue I had with it was it was a kids movie so they had to shove in a bunch of comedic parts or unnecessary dialogue. Change it to a legitimate horror movie and that dog scene would be way more shocking. Idk if there is a possibility of a sequel but there shouldn’t be one as I think it would ruin it. I seriously can’t get over the relationship of the old guy and the house and how all he’s done is for the peoples and the house’s safety and how the old guy had a emotional impact on the murder frenzied house. It was a great premise that would make a horror movie version of this really interesting. I also love the premise of the house using things that people are connected to like childhood toys to lure people in sorta like “IT”.
