I'm not a pilot yet but I worry about cost and I also worry that as I age, my medical requirements will change. If I fly as a sport pilot, I want the same safety options that other aircraft have and be able to fly faster than I can drive.
@EasyFlight7 ай бұрын
I think you will be able to get all of that when the rule is published. Good luck!

Flying at night is very important to sport pilots, pushing pilots to leave early in the daytime into hazardous weather is the opposite of promoting a safety culture, FAA needs to fix this immediately!

I appreciate you doing this "tedious" task, I'm sure it wasn't easy to do. Thankx again!

I don't think you mentioned the existing aircraft out there that will become instantly available to those of us that need larger aircraft. I hope that the new rules include those aircraft. I know I'm looking forward to these new rules. But, that's not to say this review was nothing but exceptional on your part. Thanks so much for all that you do to advance this new thinking!!

Thanks Jim! Yeah, the larger aircraft were proposed by the FAA and I think that they are locked in. I don't know of anyone that disagreed with that aspect of MOSAIC!

@@EasyFlight yeah, this regulation will be game changing! I am working with Cruiser Aircraft to develop the mosaic Cruiser at this time. It’s going to be amazing and revolutionary for Flight instruction! Everything goes good. We will be ordering 200 of them. This is going to be the biggest rulemaking change in aviation history really excited to see how it comes out.

Any update on this topic? I like the points you make.

@DeRose05 The FAA is in ex parte, which means that they won't be publishing the rule or even talking about it for another year or so.

The Rotax 915iS/916iS and four cylinder Lycoming engines and their Titan clones will clean up in this environment. I mean it. If you were allowed design a cross-country flier that carried enough fuel to handle the vast space imposed by the Continental United States, then which engine would you design your aircraft around? There never was something magic about 1320 pounds other than it's the imperial equivalent of 600 kilograms. Two adults plus fuel and baggage carried under a 600 kilo weight limit will get you across an international border in Europe. That's enough for decent weekend away. Where does 600 kilos take you in the United States?
