This movie feels like it could have come out in the early to mid 2000's, given the amount of clichés. That being said, the humour lands more, and Sandler and Aniston have stronger chemistry than the last film.

I only saw the Cinema Sins version of this movie, but if you walked into a bank with $10,000,000 in cash as a foreigner and asked to deposit it, that would definitely be flagged as a suspicious activity. And they would have a lot of difficulty getting that much cash into the US if they tried to fly home with it. So, basically what I'm saying is, that's a problematic $10,000,000.Also thank you for pointing out how much of a dick Adam Sandler is to the disabled. Talk about middle school humor.

Words being left out of subtitles/captions depends on how fast actors are speaking - and that line was delivered fast. There needs to be a balance between speaking speed and reading speed. There's no point having captions that are too fast to read. Actors need to slow down. If Tom Hanks can do the Cast Away post sorting scene in Red Square at 180wmp while sounding like he's speaking fast, the rest of the actors have no excuse.

THANK YOU for calling out all the ableist jokes in this terrible movie, and advocating for quality subtitles and captioning. Adam Sandler needs to watch a video about how harmful and dehumanizing casual ableism is. There are so many good examples of quality movies with authentic representation, it’s a shame he doesn’t seem to have seen any of them 🤟🏼
@brandenp1944 Жыл бұрын
Maybe the 1 arm guy actually has 1 arm and is fine with the JOKES. Again, JOKES.
@ThisAbilityClinic Жыл бұрын
@@brandenp1944 Thanks for your reply. Even if this particular actor with one arm was comfortable with these jokes, the jokes and his tokenization represent a bigger harm. It’s similar to if someone in a movie kept making jokes about a particular character because of their race. People with disabilities are more than just punchlines. It would be nice if Hollywood showed more authentic, well rounded characters who are disabled but also have stories people care about. Jokes are all well and good, especially if they’re actually clever. Reducing a person to their disability or race or any other marginalized identify throughout an entire movie is dehumanizing, and thinking “it’s fine, it’s just a joke” is uninformed and perpetuates harmful biases. 🤟🏼

@Libellulaire Жыл бұрын
Holy f*ck the amount of people who are missing your point is crazy. People, there's a huge difference between putting the disability as part of the character's "package" and making a few jokes about it, and reducing their whole character to being some kind of comic relief or joke target solely because of their disability (or whatever their specificity is.) You can laugh at or with a character but still give them a real role. If the whole role of the person is to be "Character with X to make joke about," it's terrible writing, disrespectful and harmful (on top of being pathetic.) If you still don't get it, then it's not at all about humour, you're just complete morons.
