Everything Wrong With My CHEAP 2008 Dodge Charger RT

In my previous videos, a lot of people kept asking me "what's wrong with your car?". This was asked frequently because of how cheap I found the car for, so in this video, I decided to give you all a full rundown of all the flaws I have found in my 2008 Dodge Charger RT Road and Track package.

I got my 2006 Charger RT for 6k came with 22 Inch deep dish rims. Not really any cosmetic issues but I did have a few mechanical issues because the owner didn't drive it. The light control switch was bad, but it it was flickering, and found part for 39$ installed it myself. I other small issue driver side fog light went out, but I bulb was 14$ installed it myself, one big issue I had, was that fuel pump and fuel level sender went out which also killed the batter since it sat for a week before I could do anything. I 1400 was the cost to fix. So I looked at some KZbin videos and bought the fuel pump, which is fuel level sender and batter and installed it all myself and fix the issue for like 190$. They are Older you will have problems but if their not major or even if they maybe on KZbin you can find many ways to do it yourself and save money i saved myself 1110. But since my car has been running with no issues as long as the owner has took care of it it should be find to buy an 06-10 charger RT but you may have to put a lil work in

Ball joints are hard jobs … glad you fix that issue without that part your whole wheel hub assembly will break apart

Heat up dip stick with torch. Replaced mine. Other issues I've had other than rust. Spring on gearshift. Ignition mount cheap. Fell out. Replaced radiator fan twice. 06. 5.7

I paid 5 bands for my 08 Dodge charger rt and I regret it I should have just gotten another good car my motor and everything still good under hood but my antifreeze is leaking out the bottom so I'm stuck there it used to start up and run then cut off when I stop at red light and now since it snowed my battery is completely dead so hopefully when I take my battery to auto zone and let it charge and see if the battery is still good but yea pray for me

Stealerships need to cover their running expenses like the power bills, pay the workers, and still have a profit margin. So unless you're buying a car on warranty or a few other cases, it's better to avoid it altogether and buy used from a listing site and deal directly with the owner

My charger looks exactly like yours except I have the LCD screen and red brake calibers. Just replaced the front headlights and fog lights. Installed led's. My is in mint condition. These 1st generation chargers after dodge put the hemi back in will be worth more than all the others that preceded it

Unfortunately that’s not true at all. Most of the 06-10 chargers are high mileage and have rusted out due to the sound proof foam in the Rocker panels and they rust really bad in the corner panels. They were also mass produced and the limited edition models aren’t really sought after. Not trying to be a dick, it’s just the reality man. I have an 08 RT road and track package and only has 76k miles on it . Love the car so much but they aren’t worth shit anymore

@@michaellarrick8881 You’ve just reinforcing my point exactly. Most out these chargers are rusted out with high mileage. I rarely see any In good condition anymore. My Rt is in mint condition…Inside and out. No rust and not a scratch on it. The finished looks like a sheet of glass. I didn’t hotdog it and do burn outs. Unfortunately most of these models with hemis were totally destroyed do to negligence. The ones that were kept and maintained over these years will be the collectors. Don’t get rid of it.

@@RodneyD I do see your point!! Ugh I hope you are right. I’ve literally spent more money repairing and restoring my 08 charger back to “like new” condition than I spent buying the car lol. so I hope they are worth something someday. I plan on keeping mine for many more years to come

@@michaellarrick8881 Just take care of it. And keep it stock as much as possible. Remember.. there aren’t many left of these models in good condition. In the years to come there will only be a few left. My Rt still turns heads. It’s so clean that people get the year wrong. I just replaced the headlights and she looks brand new straight off the assembly line.

Thoughts on a 2007 charger R/T AWD for around 9500? Looks really well kept and about 100k miles on it with nothing cosmetically wrong so, and presumably everything is mechanically sound, haven't messaged the guy yet but its an option I'm considering for a nice daily driver that's still fun and sounds good.

Hey boss. About the oil dipstick - is it possible that the oilpan was replaced, and the dipstick was trapped between the housing? I saw a post online about it. Just hop under the car and take a look at where the oil pan joins up, and see if the dipstick is stuck in there? If so, just loosen the bolts nearby and pull the dipstick out. Then use a stick to hold the dipstick up in the engine bay and then tighten down the oil pan bolts again. Hopefully it's an easy fix!

Not sure why that dip stick doesn't come out, mine did that randomly too but the shop fixed it and it's all good

I was looking to buy a charge sedan 4D for $3,000 with 109,000 miles on it the guy wanted 4500 but I talked him down to 3,000 showed it to my mechanic and he told me not to buy it it’s not a good car I’ve always wanted a charge but never got one. Should I do it and take that chance or just leave where it’s at I have a car already but I just wanted something different

Why did your mechanic say not to buy it ? The price on these have kind of gotten more expensive lately, so a good running Charger can be 7k-10k , so if you can get a good one for 3k it’s worth it

Bro I bought a 2014 dodge charger for 7,500 off someone with 86k miles on offerup and not even 2 months, that shit gave me coolant leak and engine was overheating, cost me $1200 to replaces radiator, coolant, timing belt and etc and on top of that the following week i had a misfire on it😐😐😐

@@Chowcago Yea it’s a 5.7, I still have it till this day, so far not major mechanical issues after I fixed all of them but I hope to sell it soon before it gives me more problems, I really love the car but it’s sad it gotta go soon.

Welcome to the club. The engine won't make it to 130k. 2011-2014 generation was machined poorly. Next will be the rocker arm tick and then the rods will go. Get out while you still can.

@@Chowcago There was a problem with engine cooling or whatever, cost 1000 dollars in all to fix. Everything seems fine now other than the ESP BAS lights randomly turning on and off. When this RT dies I want to get a wide body scat pack, I don’t expect it to last beyond 300k miles but who knows.

@@thekingsmen4631 hard to tell I use to have a 07 3.5L charger and that happened too I did oil changes every 3-4k miles and it just happens they must use cheep plastic and it expands over time because I broke my off and have to drill it out and then it only like $10 bucks for a new one.

The miatas have the same issue. You have to pull the dipstick out straight up or it breaks. Plastic gets brittle or melts with heat. That big V8 makes a lot of heat. I'd just automatically replace it every couple of years.
