I DO think its a bit ironic that Spike was freaking out about Thorax and Ember both coming to Ponyville at the same time.....because he didn't think they could get along.....but then, Thorax and Ember actually solve each other's problems when Spike stopped obsessing and let them talk. Thorax is a leader but he needed the confidence to be more assertive and lead his fellow Changelings. And Ember has a hot temper and she lacks patience and the knack for making friends, so she needed what Thorax had. And in the end, they BOTH became better friends and stronger leaders because they listened and worked out the problem together.

Hey everyone! Incompetent Spike is back! Now he can be that character who creates a problem to fix again.... You know, it bugs me that Spike wasn't in the last episode where his role was needed because he had just as much importance in the Friendship Journal as the others, and now when he appears in an episode, he causes problems while Twilight's situation stopping ability is shut off. Instead of giving Spike advice to fix this, she pushes him deeper into a problem. Also, is anyone going to point out that the Friendship map called the mane 6 to fix a problem, while it calls on Spike to fix a problem...he's created in the first place. I would have liked this episode, if the opposite occurred. Spike calls Ember to Ponyville and Thorax shows up unexpected (or like how the episode went), so Spike introduces them to each other, only for them to conflict with each other because of their mixed personalities and Spike has to now find a way to get them to find a ground of acceptance. The difference is that Spike did create this issue, but he didn't think his two friends would conflict with each other and now he has to fix it and the fun part is that when the friendship map calls Spike, he quickly brushes it off, because he knows what the issue is.

I swear, if we never get anything from that rogue Changeling thing, I'm gonna cry. It's a bit of a stretch, but maybe the S7 Finale will establish the Umbrum as the new creepy villain race and the S8 Premier will be about that rogue Changeling band, perhaps phasing out Chrysalis and the Changelings as villains? The finale is called 'Shadow Play' after all, which to me points to it being the introduction of the Umbrum into the actual series. It could also be another Changeling two parter. (Changelings are sort've like Spy from TF2, in order to be effective they have to stick to the shadows? Another stretch.)

In the episode where they talk about the book they ignored Spike's lessons and had him absent in the episode even though it would have did him some good considering his flaws. And in this episode they shat on his character. It also doesn't help that twilight and starlight got off Scott free even though they fanned the flames. Sin #7: The real sin is not explaining WHY they think that would be the case. I've seen no animosity between these 2 races, but if this is the way the princess of FRIENDSHIP acts, it might imply that most of Equestria is currently racist. Sin #22: I wonder if this will be a thing the writers feel they need to go over at some point, and give us a new episode just for that ;). Sin #28: Well, the Thorax episode from last season turned out to be part of the season 6 finale plot. And it was relatively close to the episode number that this episode is. Renegade changelings could be the plot point for the finale; wouldn't be the first time. Even if he becomes more assertive, I doubt he'll persuade them all. Sin #29: I forgot about Zecora, so you're right. They are pretty racist. This is something they really need to address now. Extra sin: I'm not sure how Ember didn't hear Thorax say "No one yells at my friends" before he confronted her. Almost immediately after, he places himself BETWEEN Spike and Ember, facing her. So... why does she assume Thorax is a threat to Spike? Then there's the part where they clear it up with each other that makes this even more confusing.
