For sin 42, you kinda missed the point of their lesson. Throughout the entire episode, the main 6 were completely expecting outside forces (The princesses, discord, the elements) to bail them out of their situation. Discord was teaching them that they literally don’t need anyone or anything else to solve their predicament.

@Hannah Papernick-Yudin they, Well mostly twilight, needed the Confidence boost to let them see they can be a great leader and protector of equestria. sure later on the can still have discord and the princess to help out in an emergency but without confidence they wouldn't be a great leader, keep being indecisive, overthinking thing, doesn't believe that they're making the right choice,etc. At least that's my take one it. Uhh,actually,I kinda agree with him.When I first saw this episode,I was like"Wait,they literally DID that before".And just because they expected outside forces,that doesn't mean they had to do nothing.After all,you could say that about most of the episodes,especially about the ones when Twilight isn't as experienced as she is now.They kinda repeat the same things over and over again. And TBH,I don't think they expected outside forces,considering the princesses were helping Starswirl,but the"you don't need the elements,the princesses because you will always be kind/loyal/generous blah blah blah"was bullshit,considering the characters matured and evolved a lot.This wasn't the first episode after all,where you could at least excuse it for the lesson,because characters are not experienced enough to know that

No Chrysalis created evil copies of the mane 6 and the elements destroyed them, she only tried to take them... 4.They're planning to use teamwork, Sombrero here decided to go off on his own because he thought he doesn't need teamwork to win so the Goat guy(Grogar) said, Fine than, I'm giving you a chance, if you manage to take over the world you can keep it, but if the mane six wins again you'll join my team so we can work together to win... unfortunately I think the mane 6 actually killed Sombra so Grogar couldn't bring him back. And yes, I'm assuming they're planning to finally finish things off in the last two episodes but I'm assuming we're gonna see something of them during the season.

This KZbinr did a video on this talking about the email leaks in more detail and even shows a screenshot of the email discussing Apple jack. Huge Bonus Sin: Longest age of peace? Are you kidding me? Actually, this is worth more than one point. One for the fact that under Celestia's rule, Equestria experienced 1000 years of peace. I mean, it was probably more due to the fact that the writers didn't want to bother writing anything to fill in that 1000 year time gap than anything else, but conveniently enough, nothing major happened in 1000 years of Equestrian history. How is that not the longest age of peace? And yes, extra bonus sin for just how unbelievably convenient that was. A second point goes to the fact that since the mane six have been active, Equestria has been through a lot, so peace is not the word I would use for it. Sure, they fended off various threats, but those threats conveniently coincide with the rise of our heroes, which is just the trope of heroes attracting villains, which lends credibility to the stance of the antagonist of that Glass movie. And yes, that too is convenient and contrived as heck.

My theory for Sombra now speaking is that in the revival he lost a lot of his shadow allowing him more self control but making him less, well, dark. Then again he seemed stronger rather than weaker and there's not much room to explain that later on with him being, kinda dead, so it seems. Whyever Grogar didn't reresurrect him, idk.

It really did. And her change was the only one fitting, from crazy/evil to somewhat comedic. Tirek and Chrysalis (especially Tirek) went a little more comedic in S9 compared to their previous appearances. And it was villains interacting with each other, something we’ve always wanted and like to see. And even more hilarious seeing this little child in between all these ancient and powerful villains.

Did you notice Sombra face when he was saying that? Grogar has triangle talisman known as "bell" (also used by Tirek in the past) what allow him summon Shadow entity (in his time known as Bray), what was one who created monsters and Grogar lost control over them when Gutsy (Celestia) take it. So Grogar was just stilling someone else credit at that point and probably was not aware that someone was in the room (Tirek probably also know that he was full of shit). And yes, Discord is one of them... he in fact is dreadful alicorn ;D

Out of every villain who lost, Sombra is the one villain who lost because he was just caught off guard. He didn't know about Cadence, all he was focused on was getting the Crystal Heart. Everyone else lost because of dumb mistakes. Each villain (Cozy, Chrysalis, and Tirek) lost because they left the heroes unattended when they should have ended it. In this new season, King Sombra did the exact same thing that caused all of the other villains to lose. Sombra from S3 should have taken over the minds of the mane 6 as soon as he captured them. I can go on and on about this. It really bugs me.

I actually hate the fact that Twilight is back to doubting herself in this episode. In the MLP movie, she was stripped of EVERYTHING. The Princesses, the Elements, her books....even her friends. And it was then that she TRULY understood her role as the Princess of Friendship. She understood her power. Now she's just back to relying on everything again. It weakens her character, I think, for them to do this to her.

What changed Sombra from hardly talkative Sauron expy to talkative and smug supervillain? Sure he is still the chessmaster and crazy prepared tyrant he was, but it was toned down to the standard MLP villain kind of villain. Wasn't the whole part of not speaking much beyond a few words because he was a no-nonsense enemy who knew not to do the typical defeat by arrogance?

My guess is it happened too fast for the tree to react. With cozy n chrysalis it had time to register a threat here it was like a thanos snap. It had 0 time to see the attack

I think, or hope, the parts were they pointed out writing flaws wasn't as much to just turn this into a joke in the episode but to acknowledge past mistakes and try to correct them in the following season. It's a premier after all, it sets up what's to come and you can't really retcon your characters to fix these kinds of mistakes, they need to change, in canon. In other words, Twilight's actions are predictable because that is her personality however this had been her personality for a while since she lacked the character development in the past. I hope this scene meant to suggest them trying to allow her to actually become a capable princess and learn to deal with stress on her own and capably. The princess thing might suggest that they are actually going to force them to act more, as they kinda already did, and explain why exactly they didn't in the past.

6:52 Why did Sombra put a mussel on them? One could argue there are magical properties in them but I see no runes or magic in those thing what so ever. Which brings me to my next question: Why didn't Cadence and Shining try to teleport away now that they have Flurry with them? At the very least they could've established some kinda ground somewhere else or had a better chance to reach out to the main six. And I don't wanna hear anything about Cadence can't teleport long distances, because if that's the case just use Shining to increase their love/magic output, thus allowing them to teleport, I mean if twilight can do it (who is lowkey kinda weaker than the other 3 princesses without her friends) Cadence (who most likely got training from Celestia) should definitely be able to. 11:24 WHERE THE HELL ARE CELESTIA AND LUNA?!?!
