Everything Wrong with Singapore's Parks

Greenery isn’t just for the eyes, greenery also needs to enrich our lives. Singapore's parks are not vibrant public places. Is this due to poor design or culture? Are therapeutic gardens and rooftop gardens urban innovations or urban flops? Are parks even relevant in Singapore?

Had to stop watching around the 3:30 mark. What a wasted 3 minutes 😟 . I hold no love for singapore at all (didn't spend that much time there either), but the only valid criticism I can think of is that it's not located in the middle of the city. However as someone who loves visiting parks in each city I visit, it's one of the best done and more enjoyable parks I have been to, and probably the best one in South East Asia. The trees are nice enough and all, but it was just a small 'detail' out of the entire park.

@@joeymessina3626 did you notice the word "only" in my comment? The point is that the entire first three and a half minutes were full of fluff and bullshit. Just because he did end up mentioning the most obviously valid criticism at some point (but a criticism Singapore can't do much about) doesn't mean much.

Singapore itself is a garden city, a city filled with flora and fauna. Garden city means city in a garden. The things you see in Singapore is what the governments want. Everywhere you go, you will see some animals walking around the city and many trees and bushes planted around the area. Do you know that there are animals living at gardens by the bay? Ex. turtles, monitor lizards, otters, birds and other small animals. Gardens by the bay is actually build for Singaporean. The garden didn't intend to be a tourist attraction. It is mentioned in a national tv program about the gardens. Garden by the bay is a nature park, not a theme park. I think the design of the parks and gardens in the city are acceptable. You can't compare Singapore to other cities because they are not garden cities. Paris, London and New York are not garden cities. Singapore is one of the greenest cities in the world. I think events are suitable to hold around the city instead of holding events at gardens by the bay only. Many tourists didn't knew this facts at all. Creativity has no correct or wrong.

I'll pause and watch later. Pretty interesting. People have criticized Singapore for many things, but not, and never for its parks. So I'll watch when my mind is clear so as to focus on what this video is highlighting. Hope it doesn't disappoint.
