2:04 I think Steven is shocked not necessarily because he realized that the group's been bubbling Gems, but more so that those Gems were sentient and intelligent beings. Steven at this point has little knowledge of Gemology and "Gemetics" (as Peridot said) and likely thinks that Gems have a species structure similar to Earthly beings. For example, the animal kingdom. Humans are animals, but so are many more ruthless creatures like Lions, Tigers, Bears (oh my) similar to the monsters they face. Perhaps he finds the gem in all these beings as the link factor of such a kingdom with both humanoid and beastlike Gemley beings. Now this may seem like high-level thinking for Steven, but this is actually just basic associations with pre-existing knowledge that pretty much any creature on Earth does automatically to some degree.

I honestly think they could've made the whole stopping Lapis thing it's own arc. The thinking about a plan, going at it and then finally finding where she is, the Gems would question why she isn't moving forward with her plan since the tower seems to be stagnant (don't know how that could be shown but it's a reason for her to stay long enough for them to do something). Also would be cool if in the episodes leading to that, they found a way to show the ocean water going away more and more instead of all of it at once. just some ideas to make this plot a little better since i think it had a lot of potential.

Realistically keeping here on earth would be easy since once the water gets far enough out it would simply freeze in space so realistically Lapis escaping like that would be impossible

5:30 First of all, Lapis’s tower is still a work-in-progress here. Secondly, it might be that in her cracked state, she still needs a wider base for it to support its own weight more. Interesting note: if Homeworld had been in a decently nearby star system, it could have been possible for her to make it, eventually- assuming she had the whole ocean. If you allow one square meter of area, you get about 200 light-years of length, by my rough estimate. Unfortunately for her, though, Homeworld has been stated to be in a fully separate galaxy, so that’s still out of reach- unless Lapis can balance on a few square centimeters instead.

Without gravity or anything to pull her down she should be able to pull of a chunk of the tower and keep going from there, that is assuming she can keep the water from freezing in the vacuum of space which I don't think she can do

@@Finn_the_Cat She can freeze water herself, so that probably wouldn’t be the issue. It seems a little unclear what the crack in her gem does and doesn’t allow, honestly.

In the minute 4:54, what i think happened is that the pitch itself of the SOUND wave was what ruptuted Lapis' ability, and it didn't affected Steven despite the shock of forces precisely because of it. But, instead of taking a step back, it would have been awesome if Steven's shield vibrated, to indicate HOW POWERFULL the impact of the pitch was. Since the shield acted as a "diapazon"(idk it's english name), it would have been nice to reflect it in the animation.

Especially because we know that by default, Steven's shield floats against his arm. So the vibrations wouldn't have even shook him.

Review from series ranking: "So, Lapis stole the entire ocean. ...that escalated quickly. So, the whole gang goes to save it, leading to an awesome battle between the gems and their water clones, created by Lapis. And, HOLY S*IT, the score for the fight against the water clones is SO GOOD. It really does feel climactic, and it starts the trend of absolute bangers during fight scenes, in this show. Like, even if I think the show fell over near the end, it's score NEVER decreased in quality. And the fight itself is without question the best fight in the series. It's fluid, it stays on-model, there's some great strategies in play, and, like I said, the score absolutely slaps. Steven uses his shield to signify his refusal to fight a friend, and uses his healing powers to restore Lapis’ cracked gem so she can return to her, as of now, unknown home. This episode feels like the culmination of every episode before it. Many of the Beach City residents we’ve met get at least one line, and almost all of them have at least cameos. We get more insight on the Crystal Gems and the monsters they’ve been fighting, which are actually corrupted gems, and, of course, Steven summons his shield, once again, showing that his powers have grown. I will say, the ending of this episode feels a bit anticlimactic. Like, Steven learned he had healing spit the episode before this arc began, and Steven just restores Lapis’ gem with no issue. But those are just nitpicks, this was a fantastic culmination of all of the things that’ve been set up previously. I always assumed Lapis had created the clones because her ability to mimic voices extended further now that she was outside the mirror, and because they required such an astronomically small amount of water for the amount of damage they could do, they were simply more efficient than hitting them with a massive mile long fist when her goal is to stretch an ocean's worth of water far enough to reach Homeworld.

Although i honestly kinda wish they had like more scenes of lapis showing off more off her power cause my GOD you would have epic fight scenes of that like seriously i would imagine like just lapis like recking some other ultra powerful gem but then the gem shows off more of its power and then have some emotional moment with lapis like even i cant beat this and then just peridot showing up like fusing its the only way lapis and out of pure adrenaline lapis fuses without thinking and after discovering its ok you would have this awsome climax with azurite that what i name the fusion celibrating her victory and then i dont know maybe some emotional lines from steven god that would have been a great episode plot

Alright 3 things 1.For 2:51 I think she’s trying not to risk Steven getting killed 2.In this scene 4:02 when the water clones lapis created pull out their weapons how come they didn’t lose any part of their body to create these weapons since they were pulling them out of their gems/body’s 3.And when pearl cuts her water clone in half why don’t either of them become thinner or at least loose some water to create the 2nd clone.

I think the reason lapis dosent try to fight jasper is cause she wanted to have a prisoner the whole letting herself get captured by not telling peridot and jasper all the information seems like a front to lead to the whole malachite scene and given her dark side being absolutely terrifying yeah that does seem like her intention atleast in universe out universe it was just a simple yet good way to have the 2 arcs happen also yeah i kinda agree with jasper lapis is way stronger compared to her and i usually dont agree with jasper cause shes crazy and possibly corrupted the entire time shes seen and you know cool villan cliche you dont usually agree with that kinda stuff why am i overanalyzing a cartoon in universe?
