I have to agree with the level design complaint. Most of them are just "hold right to win". And the ones that aren't are usually bad

I wonder if others had any trouble when it comes to the Chao stuff, I know youtuber SomeCallMeJohnny did all emblems on SA1 and 2, and don't think he had this much problems with the Chao stuff, though could be wrong, might have to go back to the VoDs of those streams to see Also would think there would be more info about this whole thing as so many people love just the Chao stuff, mostly in SA2 though, i don't know about SA1

so you can get all the emeralds in Emerald Hill. that's cool, it is not a requirement for an average playthrough. you are expected ti collect as you process the game. obviously, that's the achievement. but to say its bullshit and bad design is odd.

Some of the issues you had aren't really Sonic 2's fault. The game wasn't designed to take into account achievements created by people who weren't the developers. Remember it was made in the context of gaming in the 90s. The intention was this'd be one of the few games you'd probably own, so you'd play it for hours and hours. Super Sonic was a reward for mastering the game and getting good enough to clear all the special stages. The special stages are unfairly hard on purpose. They're intended to be something you memorise and master over hours and hours of play time.

Man all you have to do to get all PS3 achievements for SA2 is Beat all stories, name a chao, get all chao stats to 10, get all emblems, get №1 in Expert Mode in cart race, beat all Level 4 stages in Battle mode, idk abt retro achievements tho

I am very happy SA2 improved the Chao Garden stuff. Still naturally limited on the Dreamcast but it is nice.

I played this game back on GameCube and God is it a terrible game. Bad voice acting, horrible lip movements, a mid story, mid music, horrible glitches some that can softlock your game, you only play as Sonic for 1/7 of the game. I never even finished it because of a softlock with tails. Easily 1 of the worst Sonic games of all time. People said this game was good I see I was lied to.
