Most of these are not plot holes, they are plot critiques about dramatic choice. The posion, the aliens not having a backstory, the desperate luke perry using the only weapon he has, etc. For the most part these are just issues with plot details that are left unexplained, but would be easy enough to explain with some mundane writing.

The mondoshawan are absolute pacifists, hence no weapons on the ship. 4. They can can recreate the 5 element based on the dna, they cant read it...its not a book. 5. English was not a language when she was put into stasis, so would not be stored in her near infinite genetic memory. 6. He only loses 1 point because he only had 1 left. 7. The ship did not crash land on Earth. 8. That thing is not undetectable by x-ray, the 4 parts it breaks down into are. 9. He said 3000 rounds. Not 3000 bullets. 10. The divas concert was sold out. The contest winners tickets would already have been purchased. 11. The priest pulled off the tag, actually it was one of his business cards, then put it on another door. 12. Don't come back without the stones was a threat, not orders. 13. Korben didn't "get there so fast", the movie just didn't show the travel. Oh, and public transportation. 14. Leeloo had to learn English before she read about martial arts, Korben just didn't know. 15 The evil planet, Mr Shadow may not be able to go anywhere near the stones. He just wants to be sure someone he controls has them. Also just being real fucking evil does not mean you know where the stones are. and many more.

That's what makes it so fun! You have to totally see the intention of the movie, not the excecution. I'm sure that must seem like I'm telling you to enjoy something crappy, but honestly I think it's worth it for the message at the end of movie where Leloo asks what the point of humanity is. I think Luc Besson's message is that love is always personal. In spite of the trope of deep passionate man's-love-saves-woman, I think the performances at least hint at a layer of depth that suggests something more between the characters that just sex. It would be amazing if someone who outdo this with a remake or spinoff. This movie kills just on imagination and "weirdness". Memorable as fuck!

How did she get out of the statue then?
@spicyt0fu2 жыл бұрын
So what I think happened is that they recreated her with what they had on hand. Making her way more human then she was originally. I know That’s not how it’d work in real life but the whole movie likes to take liberties with technology. I mean, if they regrew her she wouldn’t have any memory or reactions at first. CinemaSins' "Wrongful Sin" Sin Tally: 4 (at least) 1) Cops didn't know to look for Korben. He had the ID scan jammer. They specifically say that out loud before they start shooting at him. 2) Leloo didn't take the nametag, some guy did. Presumably the one who got arrested, probably trying and have some prize delivered to him (look at your own video... those hand's aren't Leloo's hands). 3) Why wouldn't Korben be able to get to the airport quickly? Taxis are a thing. We know this for multiple reasons. 4) That's not the priest telling Korben where the diva suite is, that's the staff who was sitting in the chair in front of the camera feeds, who Korben is talking to before the priest starts talking.
@MoistGrundle4 жыл бұрын
On number 2: I believe those are the priests hands. It happens quick, if memory serves, but Vito grabs the tag, and then the doorbell rings. They have the squabble, he stuffs em in the fridge, and then he answers the door. Soon as Leeloo says her hello, out jumps Vito with Korben's gun, which he left at Vito's apartment. I've seen the movie, oh, once or twice lol
@romeojoshuacartmill87219 жыл бұрын
The audience does a standing ovation because that was a genuine reaction. The actors and extras have never seen the opera singer behind the Diva perform before the final cut. Someone mentioned that the blood from Zorg's head was chocolate sauce? Its actually molasses. Funny you should mention that Vito suddenly knew about the schematics of the ship.....since he told his apprentice to look for information for Fhloston Paradise Hotel, and immediately knew the entire schematics of the hotel. If anything, you should've sinned the fact that a lowly, religious "friar" was able to find detailed schematics for a famous, intergalactic hotel.

It was rife with parts we were supposed to laugh at because they were pretty silly. But still, ya gotta love a lot of these characters... suspend your disbelief... and roll with it. That makes it a good time. Same goes for Cinema Sins! These are not reviews. We have to realize that movies are imperfect - even the very best ones have plot holes, illogical choices and coincidences. CS shows us how to have fun with that.

Vito moved Korben's door sign, not Leeloo, to throw off anyone else looking for Korben, since he knows others are looking for the stones. The warrior aliens took the Korben arrest warrant from the police, that's how they know who they're looking for, but they imitate the 'Smoke you!' guy. Vito doesn't identify the Diva's room, it's one of the ship's mates.
@lunaticpathos9 жыл бұрын
Also, they can replicate a being from DNA, not it's memory, so if they had Korben's hand they'd just get a baby Korben in adult body. Leeloo isn't the perfect human, she's a perfect being with important information in her DNA, hence its density. I don't think she's necessarily human, either, their machine is just programmed for humans and make a body from DNA with that assumption.

@@Blasted2Oblivion Late answer: 250 years ago a guy just experimented with natural electricity and look what we have now. Well, who knows what medical inventions people will made in 250 years. If humans haven't destroyed each other that is.
@JonPITBZN4 жыл бұрын
@@Blasted2Oblivion, we can already grow tissue. We can already do multi-organ transplants. We're not that far from being able to grow the parts and put them together. We can revive a flatline, which isn't that far from being able to enliven a fully-assembled, non-living body. The sin here is the presentation. It's doubtful that this process would be completely automated and completely self-contained. It certainly wouldn't be that fast. It should look like growing organs and then putting them together surgically, not 3D printing. Shooting it like this saves money though. Having to cast a team, dress them in futuretech lab coats, shoot take after take of fiddly little hand stunts, and maintain shot continuity between a bunch of close-ups adds more production days and uses more film, which is the fastest way to inflate a movie budget. It also adds runtime for something that arguably doesn't add much to the movie itself. But it's a "sin" against the studio in the sense that it's using a special effect of cool future tech to save time and money over a more believable shot. If directors always shied away from "push a button" type futuretech, sci-fi would never get made, making it a "salvation" by the director. It's cheaper to shoot the future than the past, and it's partly because of scenes like this. That's a win for fans of science fiction.
