Hey Cinema Sins! about Ursula. In the origin story about Ursula from the disney villans book seris, we get why she is a cecelia (octopus person) (just let me betd out guys dont judge me just let me do it) we dont know for sure, but it is speculated Ursula’s mother, Neptune’s wife, had an affair with a cecalia. Ursuala took after her father, giving her her tentacles. She looked very different, and was very beautiful and attractive. However, her younger brother, Triton, and her father, Neptune, despised her. They spread rumors that she was a witch practising the dark arts (which wasnt true at the time) When Neptune died, Ursula was supposed to inherit the throne as she was the oldest. Instead, Neptune gave Triton the trident and named him heir, and gave Ursula her shell. Heartbroken, Ursula became a woman of the court. Triton forced her to disguise her tentacles in a metmaid tail, which was painful. the only friend she had was Triton’s wife (and ariel’s mother) Athena (i think it is Athena. cant remember). Athena and Ursula were closet than sisters, and A was the only one who stood up to Triton in U’s deffense. Unfortunatly, we all know athena was crushed by a ship and killed. Triton, heartbroken, was constantly reminded of her in the face of Ursula. He created false accusations of witchcraft, and these finally gained more momentum. Triton used his false evidence to banish ursula from the court, to the deepest regions of the sea. There, Ursula took refuge inside the skeletel remains of a large beast, and remained there for years. the cold water, and her broken heart aged her, changing her physical apperance. Ursula vowed revenge on her brother and the entire ocean, and began practicing the magic she had been falsely acused of. She just had to wait for the right time, the right prey, the perfect blow, to take him down and reclaim what was rightfully her’s. that is a quick brush up on the story, it is a lot more complex. sorry for nerding out there. couldn’t resist! love your channels!!!

IN the cartoon when the prince steers the boat, more then likely to his death to save areal it shows Triton that humans are capable of love and sacrifice, and that his initial bias was not well placed. Yeah, the thing about "who kills Ursula in the end" actually is an issue. In the original movie it was a perfect way to have both characters save each other over the course of the story - Ariel saved Eric and later, in return Eric saved Ariel (even though both of them risked a lot and didn't have to do it). The remake removes that element for no reason and ruins that link, which is yet another evidence that the team behind the remake didn't get the story at all and introduced changes for the sake of changes with barely any thought behind them.

I'm adding a sin to the counter for Akwafina being in this travesty of a film in the first place. Any movie with her can have a free sin. Also, thank you CinemaSins for NOT subjecting anyone to that horrendous song. I was mentally preparing myself for hearing a clip of it, and you glossed right over. Thank you.

@@krustomer It's not racism.. the character is Danish.. in the 1800's. Ariel is as pale. We live pretty far north, and as a Scandinavian myself; we're pretty fucking pale. Why take our character instead of making more characters from other contries.. We have Denmark, Norway, France, Germany, Russia, Scotland, Colombia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Hawaii, China, North Africa (unspecified), and America. Make characters from other countries instead of race-swapping the ones we already got.

Wasn't the point of the original movie's ending that Eric was willing to sacrifice himself, or at least put himself at great risk, to save Ariel. Which, in turn, showed the king that not all humans are in fact awful and that there is hope for them and that helps him decide to let Aerial marry him, uniting the kingdoms after years of tension between them? Having Aerial do it defeats that purpose entirely. It's also a repayment, of sorts, for her saving him earlier.

To be fair, the Broadway show had Ariel kill Ursula.
@brandonlyon73011 ай бұрын
@@beethovensfidelio Yeah but the context, scenario, and the way she killed her were completely different.

The original also didn't kill Triton, so he was able to actually witness Eric risk his life. A dead Triton would need to be told who was steering the ship into Ursula.
