@msteeniewahine45405 жыл бұрын
Triija yeah it was but it’s not the same, although it seems but it is not. the author in hunger games talks about how before reality tv shows or whatever used to be scripted and not true. but since people find it really entertaining of people getting hurt or depressing times the author wanted to talk about that. so in hunger games people have to watch people fight to the death because it’s entertaining i guess. i really dont know much about maze runner but i think they want to test survival skills there’s probably more but a different gist.
@beachesincali76065 жыл бұрын
@@msteeniewahine4540 They're not exactly testing survival skills, they're testing their minds and their ability to escape the maze. The 'scientists' put them through trials. It's a weird way to find a cure to the sickness that the normal world is dealing with. The Maze Runner is actually nothing like the hunger games. I think that people think that because they're both dystopian and split people into groups. In the hunger games it doesn't make sense to split people up and make them fight to the death, so they fight against that and the ruling class. In the maze runner it makes perfect sense to split people up in different groups depending on their strengths and weaknesses, because these groups share their job, if you think about it, it's a reflection of real life. We have chefs, architects, builders, farmers etc. Plus the only reason that people watch the subjects of the maze runner is to gauge their abilities and reactions, and understand what the teens are going through. It's nothing like the hunger games if you get past them both being teen dystopian dramas that involve fighting somebody with more power.

So what's definitely not covered in this movie is that: a) Thomas was described as literally not being able to see hardly anything on the way up to the Glade b) Alby was described as "one of the first" in the Glade and not necessarily the very first one c) Gally was previously stung, and recovered some memories of Thomas, which is why he was suspicious of him when he first sees him enter the Glade c.1) Gally's lowkey programmed to hate Thomas and be antagonistic d) there's only boys in the Glade because in the second book, you find out that they had a separate experiment set up for the girls c.2) Gally disappears at one point and doesn't reappear until later in the books e) Newt by personality and role is the "Glue" of the group, so naturally he would probably want to make friends with Thomas even if he is estranged because he wants to keep everyone united rather than separated (though this is a bit of a speculation) f) Thomas and Teresa can communicate telepathically in the books, so it makes sense why they feel a connection f.1) Teresa breaks the sun and all supplies that previously came to them via the Box f.2) because of this, the Maze itself seems less than functional and the doors don't close at night like they usually do, so the Gladers get attacked by Grievers g) Albie threatened to throw Thomas off a cliff when he initially meets him h) BIG FACT: the reason the runners are able to "map out" the Maze when it changes regularly is because they found that it repeats itself and Thomas finds that it repeats itself in a specific pattern Conclusion: the movies (while not being the worst adaptations of books I've seen, like PJO) left out a lot of information that would've made the movies a lot less cliche to a dystopian action, and left out important elements in the plot that make it a lot more interesting/unique of a series.
@aao_music2 жыл бұрын

there were so many little details that played huge roles left out as well. like how there was a cliff not a hole, the maps and weapons were burnt to the ground(the maps were saved), thomas climbed the wall to help alby(minho did nothing), they hid from the grievers in the homestead, they already had the serum, ben was stung prior to thomas entering the glade and everyone knew about it, thomas didn't kill the griever him and minho ran it off a cliff and gally ran into the maze out of anger or something like that
@jeremylarouche9059 Жыл бұрын
There are also small things in the ,movie that made me go crazy. In the books, it never rains in the glade, but in the first 15 min of the movie there is a downpour. Also in the movie when minho and Thomas spend the night in the maze, minho does not cower immediately like in the books. Oh yes and in the books his name is the only thing he can remember. They also do not have a bonfire in the books ( as far as I can remember). Alby also went into the maze ro find the dead greiver, not the greiver that stung Ben. In the movie they apparently immeadtly banish the ones stung by greivers instead of using the Serum.

Newt once tried to climb it and ended up jumping midway from the top to try to kill himself that is why he has a limp. ( This is all explained in 'the fever code') *Edit*: hey:) I wasn't anticipating this response when I posted this, I just thought I would let you all know I am well aware that the Movie did fail in terms of informing the veiwer who has not read the book :/. people need to stop saying "read the book and you'll understand." this movie is not a tie-in to the book, it's an adaptation. it shouldn't be required to read the books to know what's going on.

Yes well that is to bad......... The book explains more and is much better.

@JediBirdPlaysVG9 жыл бұрын
You do have a point, but you kinda would have to read the book to understand, because the movie leaves out crucial details. For instance, in the book they said that they've tried everything to get out and explained why certain things didn't work.

Poke marzel I agree, but the movie did do a bad job at explaining.

@obsigamer54392 жыл бұрын
Read the book and you'll know.
@UltraVast9 жыл бұрын
In the book, Thomas never killed the griever the first time he went into the maze, it fell off into the plot, literally. Thomas was also left alone with the unconscious guy because the veteran guy soiled himself (not really but might as well) and ran away. They also never made models of the maze, they made maps. The girl never freaked out because he has some sort of unquestionable faith in thomas and the memory wipe thing didn't immediately work on her and the two of them could telepathically communicate with each other. because reasons. The boys always had the cure if one was stung by a griever. The griever hole was hidden behind an illusion that looked like a cliffs edge.
@UltraVast9 жыл бұрын
Gally ran into the maze and didn't come back in the first 3rd of the book and became a appointed voice for the grievers stating that they will take one boy per night for the mysterious program. after the girl wakes up the sun goes out making it obvious that it was artificial and that they will not be able to grow crops, feed the animals or tell time anymore. several boys were killed when fighting the grievers. They didn't find the scientist dead, they were killed in front of them by "rebels". Gally was mind controlled (because reasons) and killed the fat kid. thomas then proceeded to beat the crap out of gally.
@roseleicher91009 жыл бұрын
And Thomas never killed Gally and Gally has black hair and a potato nose. Not to forget that he never 'Rose to power'. And a bus hit that foaming lady and took them away, not a helicopter and it was never above ground, only under, and they made Chuck take a bullet for Thomas, he didn't jump in front of him at his own free will. And the maze repeated the same patterns after a month and they had to do that 'put backing paper on top of each other and trace' thing. Not to mention that they started staying out all night in the maze and that the maze is square, with nine sections. And they missed out Thomas sleeping in the woods at night, the fact that the Map room is right next to the Box (not the middle of the woods) and that the council thing is only attended to by the Keepers, no one else. And that they hid in the Homestead wen the Grievers arrived..

When you remember that Teresa was actually sent into the maze with her memories, and she was just a good actor in all of it. Edit: It's at the end of the fifth book. They don't mention it in the movies because the scenarios are different; they also might not have even read the fifth book, so they wouldn't have known. Edit 2: Apparently people are STILL pressed about this. Just stop arguing, it's pointless. I'm not changing this comment, because just because it didn't help you, doesn't mean it doesn't help others. 😂

Why do people say "read the book" whenever something isn't explained in the movie I shouldn't have to read the book! A movie should stand on it's own and reading the book should just add to the experience, not be a necessity A movie that you have to consult outside media to understand is what I call a bad movie, like the Percy Jackson movies
@Reekdog6 жыл бұрын
Haley Simple answer: Time constraints. Take the Percy Jackson book. They'd have to add a lot of little tidbits and intricate details, change how we're introduced to Percy, add more things to the Capture the Flag match, add the Ares fight (still mad they didn't put that in), add a more detailed water park scene, add meeting Ares in a diner, add the kids from Ares cabin (Clarisse I think). The list goes on. Nobody wants to sit through the books exposition in a film. The Percy Jackson movie did a decent job of setting up the lore within 2 hours or less of film

Allen Smith both percy jackson movies ,in my opinion, were pretty good

they didn't stick to the book. because in the book there's suppose to be 60+ because the first Glader came with 20+ people and they didn't come up the box. they were placed in the glade. so they all worked together then each month they receive one more. they messed up on the part where they say that Alby had to be alone for one whole month bc the first people who mostly the keepers and they came all together.

So why don't you stop being an idiot and analyze stuff before you hate on it. Same goes for whoever made this video. If you don't care for a movie just keep your mouth shut and don't think of crappy reasons why it sucks. (this is no longer directed at you Random Dude)Another thing is I hadn't read the books before I saw this so the "this screams read the books first" load of crap. I understood what was happening just as much as after I read the books; Though I will admit that the insight the book provides is helpful, but still not necessary to understand the movie.

This line is hilarious: “It’s called the Changing. It’s what happens when you get stung.” From Thomas’s POV, he’s been transported here with no information about anything, and the other Gladers know that he knows nothing. Yet they act like this is a sufficient answer. For Thomas, they may as well have said “That’s the Flizzybonk. It’s what happens after you get Cadroodled by a Gonkledump. Alright, see ya later dude ✌🏻”

As someone who's read the books, I can safely say that most of the sins he mentions aren't actually sins because they're all explained away or are just common sense. And even though I understand that not everyone watching the movie has read the books and the movie does have really vague exposition, some of the sins he mentions sound like personal complaints or pet peeves, not actual breaks in movie logic. For example, the first sin he makes about the lack of brightness is really stupid. Of course, it's dark; Thomas is in the Box.This isn't the only situation where the sins aren't warranted; some of the sins are just complete BS. The movie honestly does have crappy exposition though and should have sticked more true to the books at many parts.
