1:41 Simple: Keith *wasn't* invited. He snuck onto the island and laid low, using Bonz and the other two goons to do his dirty work under the guise of being led by a genuine duel champion. Notice how he never is shown dueling, is chilling in a cave, and only shows himself once he takes out his lackies and steals their star chips and a glove for himself. Pegasus never bothered inviting him and presumably didn't care about him being there, probably just amused by the attempt at petty revenge. And iirc in the manga, Pegasus is aware of Keith being a cheater even during his US Title run which may be why he didn't give him an invite and also why he chose to humiliate Keith so thoroughly in their "duel."

The camera lowering from Pegasus' wife to the Duelists basically emphasizes how similar Mai's design is to Cecilia. Which reminds me of how Mai being part of the master plan would have added so much. Beating Kaiba gets Pegasus Kaibacorp's resources, beating Yugi gets him the Puzzle and beating Mai would get him the perfect host body when he summoned Cecilia's soul from the afterlife. It would explain why a random 20-something woman got an invite to what was basically an all boys tournament and why the Big Five had Mai use their virtual world prototype. Pegasus was planning to go after her once he beat Yugi and the big Five would have held her captive in the meantime. And if you think this would be a stretch, something similar happened in Yugioh R with the main villian trying to revive Pegasus and putting him in Tea's body. And no, there's no explaination for why Tea.

This is a case where the sub doesn't answer anything either. Pegasus just talks all chuuni that he's from a world they can't comprehend and that he'll show them that world, then within that world just yaps a bit about Shadow Games and reveals his Mind Scan ability by saying what Tristan and Tea are thinking, then he points to Bakura that he'll read his mind next only to discover he can't (apparantly the Ring blocks it yet the Puzzle doesn't, the Ring really is a deux ex machina), at which Yami Bakura just vaguely states he finally found it, then their powers clash (Bakura didn't wipe their memories out, Pegasus's power just ends from the clash and somehow returns everyoen to their bed causing them to think they just dreamt that all), and in bed Yami Bakura exclaims he finally found the Millennium Eye (I guess he was just chilling out in the Ring, not paying any attention when Kaiba vs Pegasus happened???)

Yes, Yami Bakura is magically stronger than Pegasus, because he's a spirit in his own right and inhabits a stronger Millennium Item. Not only can it track down all the others, but it can transplant souls and minds, no to mention that it always comes back to its host. When Pegasus loses his Millennium Eye, to my knowledge, he never gets it back.
@RC_ALBКүн бұрын
Now that you mention it, Bakura's Ring has the ability to move souls around. Like when he put their souls into cards and his own soul into a puzzle piece. That paired with solid vision would work great. Solid vision creates a perfect replica of Cecilias body, and the Ring brings her soul back and into the new body. Why is he going after the Puzzle and not the Ring?

Judging from how Tea remembers and how Yami Bakura not waits until Pegasus is weak, and how the pharoah was able to switch the bakura's souls without a struggle, I think its kind of implied that hes not as great at shadow games? At least not as strong as those two. Also we know Pegasus can steal souls without a duel, he did it to Mokuba. Pretty sure the whole duel is solely to claim ownership over the puzzle.... Because he's aware of the pharoah but Bakura wasnt....? Okay the more i try and explain this the more flaws I see. It made sense when i was a kid but now im just confused.
@MrrynКүн бұрын
In fairness the soul switch is just weird in general. Because we see it didn't actually work. The whole point of that game was if you die in the duel, your soul is claimed for real. Yet here's the evil spirit of the Ring, just popping up again with no real explanation. Not to mention Good Bakura possessing his own monster to keep the spirit from winning...that felt more just like penalty game magic from Atem, mirroring a legitimate Change of Heart by having the Good Bakura possess his body and the Evil Bakura taking his spot but it not being a genuine soul switch. The Items due require a genuine contest in Duel Monsters to win true ownership, a la the ancient stone tablet battles in the days of the original Shadow Games. It's why Battle City is conducted the way it is, rather than Yami Marik just shivving people on Kaiba's blimp. But then again Yami Bakura didn't duel Pegasus and still stole his eye, though Shadi was looking specifically for Yami Bakura because he knew someone was stealing Items without following protocol. Technically, Yugi would have claim on the Eye (and the Rod later along with Kaiba being the one with real claim over the Necklace until Yugi beats him).
