We hired a narrator, so if it’s AI, we must be paying some incredibly talented computer genius who’s also communicating with us through their creation. Our narrator does a lot of acting bits, like parodying Arnold, and I’ve never seen a text-to-speech AI model that can actually act-let alone hit the right moments I, as the writer, didn’t even highlight in the script.

I forgot about this until I saw this video but when I was 16 years old, I and my coworkers were able to watch T2 a full 24 hours before it released in the theater for the general public-solely because we worked at a big movie theater in Reno, Nevada. I wish I knew at the time how big of a deal this movie would turn out to be, but I’m grateful that I was working there at exactly that moment in time. I first realized how big the movie was when, for the entire first week of the release, it was not only completely sold out, but dozens of people would pay for other movies and then would sneak in and were willing to just stand throughout the whole movie. We let them do it because they were very respectful to the people in seats because they didn’t want to risk getting kicked out. Being able to see it early feels like an enormous privilege that I didn’t deserve.

What a privilege to watch this icon of a movie's production. Of course it must have been a complete nightmare to make real but video tech plus digital was extremely basic at the time. James Cameron obsession with his vision is supremely key but his ability to get people to DO it is quite rare. How? Thank u for this upload. T2 is one of my all time greats. Even today. I am 58years old and I am a visual design lecturer. I still cant fault the blend of tech being used to serve the narrative. The story is the point, not the VFX. Awesome.

It's shocking to me when I hear that Cameron nearly passed on Edward Furlong... He was perfectly-cast. The kid holds his own with Arnold, and even gets some tear-jerker scenes in there toward the end. Just think of how many kid-actors have ruined big movies throughout the years---- but Furlong is a perfect foil to Arnold.

@elodie240428 күн бұрын
Of course, Cameron had ideas for the (so-called) "sequel" ! He had this story even before making the first Terminator film but he couldn't make it the way he wanted because he still wasn't very famous, then he had a too small budget for what he had in his head, adding to the the SFX didn't yet achieve the tech level to make things the way he wanted, and then he had to give up some of his original ideas and modify the other ones to make the first Terminator film, but what he had in head since the begining was two Terminator fighting each other, one mechanical and the other in liquid metal ! After the success the first Terminator film met, James Cameron became very VERY famous and his budget had increased ! In addition, 7 years later, the tech level much much improved, and so, technically and financially, he could, at last, make what he had in head, before making the version we all know of the first Terminator film, the one he dreamed about when he was still hospitalized ! So, Judgement Day is not really a sequel, it is a way, for Cameron, to make the Terminator film he wanted from the very start (that is why we find several similar scenes between Terminator 2 : Judgement Day and The Terminator (the car chase, the Cyberdyne System factory, Sarah Connor injured at the leg, some words like "I'll be back" and "Come with me if you want to live")... James Cameron was really opposed to any sequel for his Terminator, he bashed in the newspapers Terminator 3 as soon as it has been announced... So Terminator 2 is not really a sequel of the first Terminator film... Cameron added some new details to make the link but he did not created it in the mindset of making a sequel
