Hi Eric, thank you very much for all the material you provide us, it really changed my way of seeing music and mixing. I think it is more than fair that for one or two dollars you share all this information with us, I only have one small detail to tell you, I am from Argentina and my native language is Spanish, I speak English too but when I watch videos on KZbin I put the automatic subtitles on so I don't miss any detail and on your website (very nice I must say) there is no option to put the subtitles in Spanish, if there were the possibility of having them I think it would help many people. Thank you very much again and success in this new stage.

I'm a 30 year wavefile looker-atter and you can really read them very well and fast. I seriously thought I was going listen to this while I setup for a session I have tomorrow night. It's super interesting to watch you edit and make these little tweaks to the timing nuance.

Crazy informative this one! This actually really demystified how to completely erase any artifacts from editing. I didn’t even know I needed this! Also I would absolutely *kill* for those Bowie multitracks. So jealous lol

It’s fantastic to have someone of your caliber creating amazing content while staying connected with your audience and covering a wide range of topics - from recording and editing "basics" to mixing world-class records. Not to mention the top-notch hardware (and now software). You are the best, man. Thank you!

Love it- so good- no topic is too bland- hell I’d love a ‘protools most common hot keys for EV’ video and would buy the printout- after 15 years using Logic i made the transition to Protools this past year- easy DAW navigation is so important- and all the informational videos are so broad it’s easy to get overwhelmed

Very happy to pay $1 for each video. I've gotten so much good stuff from you over the years it seems more than fair. I already shared much of the same editing workflow as you- just things I've picked up myself from doing it for years. However, I did NOT know that info about equal power vs equal gain. I just always used what sounded best without really knowing why :) haha. I also appreciate the tip about ctrl and + or - for nudging within the edit selection without moving the clip. I've always just used the nudge keys < and >. That's great to know. Also, I just enjoyed watching you edit for a bit!

Really enjoyed the lesson. To clarify something though. If you were editing a guitar DI that was going to be re amped you'd be more likely to use short equal gain fades as the signal isn't distorted yet right?
@mrwevАй бұрын
Oooo great question!! Yes you are correct. Editing the DI of a guitar would definitely be equal gain style. It is a much more pure tone with phase relevance for sure :)

Great lesson but I'm forever gonna notice that bass note on the Bowie tune.

Eric, respectfully- I would be way more likely to send you money on patreon or some other platform, while still being able to view the content on KZbin. Maybe it’s just me, I’m happy to give a dollar and pay for a valuable lesson, but I’m unlikely to migrate away from KZbin. Hope the feedback doesn’t come across negatively, I completely understand not wanting to feed the google monster. I’m just guessing I’m not alone and there might be more effective ways to provide opportunities for your audience to support your efforts.
@benjaminabercrombie6807Ай бұрын
I feel the same, and it isn’t even about the money but the convenience. I watch KZbin through my TV’s app and I pay for premium so I get no ads and I get their music service. Now to watch this channel I have to sign up for another account, pay through another account, then play off the website and hope it casts from my laptop to my TV without any trouble. It’s just too many hoops.

Hi eric Last week i purchased the video for heavy bass sounds via paypal i still don't have access to it, and sadly i made the mistake of purchasing again since it didn't unlock both payments still show as pending please, can you refund me one of those and allow me access to the video? thanks

I can fix this now! Give me the email address you made the purchase with and created an account. I'll manually add the video to your account and when the Paypal payment goes through I will refund any duplicates. Sorry for the inconvenience!!

Is your youtube channel going to become a collection of commercials for your paid content? There is no question that you know your craft. As for myself, I don't. Nor do I want to make a career or money off of it. I do find your videos extremely interesting from a 'learn about something you didn't know about' perspective. Just like I watch construction, destruction, basket weaving, car repair, welding, woodworking and a billion other topics. I'm not going to build a rocket, but I like seeing how it is done. This is how I view your videos as well, very informative with great insight, but for me (and imagine many others) not an item I'd purchase. In the current state where it is just a commercial, it is not worth my time checking out any of these videos as I am not going to buy them. What I'm trying to say is, it would be nice if you went back to your old model. Maybe the $premium$ could be paying for the multi-tracks. I get that there is a TON of time you put into your videos - as well as the disseminating of knowledge, but for myself, while I find them interesting it's not something I'm going to pay for.

Don't feel bad. I actually do make a career in music production, but I can't glean enough from this uber-chopped up video ad to know if the full length version would tell me anything I don't already know. Hard to throw a dollar at it and potentially strike out.
@crankfarАй бұрын
@@audibletapehiss3764 I don't love the blatant "teaser" style either but... maybe you're further along in your career than I, but I have watched enough of Eric's videos to now take it on faith that I **am going to learn something I didn't know** Considering I've been making records professionally for decades, that's pretty impressive since it applies to basically no one else on KZbin except for rare bits and pieces from others with his obvious dedication to the craft. Most of the very few big name folks making videos just don't seem to go as deep as Eric. Everyone likes to say there are no secrets and no tricks in audio but truth be told, most audio folk near the top of the industry DO seem to believe that there are in fact "secrets" that can help you stay competitive once you've gotten past that first lucky break and have to slog it out to keep relevant and keep earning a living. Eric seems to actually exemplify that transparent "no secrets" mentality which is refreshing. It's pretty obvious to me who of the "youtube audio folk" have or haven't truly dedicated their life to audio.
