I saw Kubota and I clicked, realised it was a deboss video👌👌👌 I love kubota. Have their tractors at work and the first (and only) excavator I ran was a KX97-3 it was amazing, easy to learn, easy to work on, quiet, all the things you said this is and everything I’d expect from a Kubota. You can keep your $$$ Cat or JD I’ll take a Kubota every time🤙

I have the 2014 kxo80 with only 600 hours on it excavator and love it other than the noisy cab, it drives me nuts it sounds like a whining noise echoing in the cab but no noise outside the cab, I enjoy your videos and I am a die-hard Kubota😁

I've worked as both an operator and a mechanic on Cat, Komatsu, Kubota, Kobelco, Bobcat, New Holland, International/Case, Yanmar & Haulotte and I agree that Kubota is among the best in that size and practically anything with their name on it is reliable quality.

So i don't have much experience working ON those machines, but i do have some operating them.. we have a few of the 5.5 tons 2019 models at my job, and they are great little machines, have rubber tracks on them, auto lube, and tilt rotor or rototilt (?) what ever you call it, that thingymabob that makes the bucket go side to side and spin around all at the same time! so for me its a few positive things with the machine, and it's a few negative things with the machine... Compared to the other brand we have used Komatsu, Kobelco and Volvo 5.5 tons they do pretty good. Postive: Strong machine and easy to use and operate. dont need to keep the throttle at max to have full power, only thing its good for is high gear tracking speed it do go a little faster then if you are in ''a hurry'' usualy kept it at half throttle or a click or two above Negative: Is just hard on fuel, it really can have a drinking problem... ofc depends on what you are doing tho. - Also have a small diesel tank compared to the other ''small'' machines we have.. - Earprotection should have came with the machine, because as you said, either if the doors opend or closed you just get your eardrums hammerd really.. even worse if you have to track along on pavement.. - Comfort and space in the cab is clearly not made for grown up's... its tight, im 190cm high and not the smallest person, but even my buddy at work that are way lower and thiner than me complained... - joysticks are really wierd placed in my opinion, ofc maybe you would get used to it after a while, but comparing it to other machines its just weird.. ive migth forgot some of the positive things with the machine aswell! its been some time since i ran one of those, but they are up in the higher class of machines compared to alot of other brands. AND REMEMBER, this is my personal opinion of the machine.. not a guid.. or anything. Greetings from Norway!
@TsunauticusIV
@TsunauticusIV 4 жыл бұрын
One of the worst things an excavator can have, in the cab, are oddly placed joysticks that cannot be moved/adjusted. I’m 6’5”. I’m not super tall but tall enough to experience comfort issues in machines. I hate having to spend weeks running machines with oddly placed joysticks. Comfort is key when you’re working 10, 12, 14, and sometimes 16 hour days. Sometimes 7 days a week. I know we are rather spoiled in comparison to the machines of yesteryear... but when you can get the comfort from one brand vs another brand... I’d abs go with the machine that’s more comfortable. Even if it did use more fuel or had slightly less breakout force. I’d rather spend 10 more mins doing a task comfortably than to get it done 10 mins faster with a worn out body. 😆

Kubota makes a good machine. I have run both a KX91-3 (7800 lb) and a KX040-4 (9300 lb). the 40 is a 2017, and has over 4500 hours of hard work on it. Digging house foundations, septic tank holes, drain fields, land clearing, grading driveways/yards, etc. The only real complaint is that the factory Kubota bucket and thumb suck. So just get it bare stick and put on a third party/aftermarket bucket and thumb.

Great video, but I must add that you don't need to do anything to bleed the fuel system other than turn on the ignition wait for the fuel pump to stop and cycle the ignition again and it will fire right up. This works if the machine has been run out of fuel to. The only other thing to adjust is the window when it's in the up position, if the rubber stops are not holding the window tight, it when tracking shakes the window and wears the catches.

I've been watching my neighbors having a bunch of work done on their property with one of these Kubotas... maybe a slightly different model but very similar in size. I'm noticing a lot of Kubota equipment out here in Hawai'i, dunno if it's that we're partial to asian brands out here (about 1 in every 4 vehicles on the road is a Toyota truck), or if it's just that with a higher cost of doing any type of business perhaps heavy equipment owners choose the most reliable equipment they can buy, probably a combination of both I'd guess.

I ran a smaller Kubota (40?) a while ago and liked it. Never felt slow or gutless unlike the Bobcat that I also ran recently. I run a JD 75G quite often though and like it a lot. The one thing that it really has on this machine is a true zero tail swing. You can be touching a tree with the tracks and still not worry about the counterweight. I guess that comes at the cost of being slightly wider than the Kubota, but that doesn't matter much to me since all of our trailers are either 8' or 8' 6". The JD also has quite a spacious and comfortable cab for such a small machine.

The density of these things really catches people out with ANY heavy machinery, from cranes through to lawn tractors... I've used a tiny skid steer "dingo" for trenching, its so small you stand on the back rather than having a seat, but still weighs more than a pickup truck (here called a "ute"), so don't roll it onto yourself, you won't bench press it back off.

Great machines. I have a 40-4 and the only complaint I have is it goes into regen once a day. When this happens you cannot activate your aux hydraulics so naturally this happens to me about a minute before I need to use the thumb. Even if I'm lucky and it goes into regen mode while I have my aux already on (so the thumb will work during regen mode) I find myself having to get out of the machine to do something and once I get back in and flip the lever down I have to wait for regen to complete before pressing the aux button so I can use the thumb again. I used to be able to flip the regen override, press aux, turn off override and run the machine but for some reason now when I try that the screen says "Woooah there buddy, turn off the override cuz I need to regen."

Yes its the V3307 that's a 4 Cyl. Fun fact is that Kubota uses the first letter in German numbers to describe the number of cylinders in each engine. For example the 3 Cyl engine model always starts with a D (Drei is 3 in German) and the 4 Cyl always starts with a V for Vier which is 4 in German.

I trust you did the other side even if you didn't show it assuming that you had another liter of transmission oil :-)

Talking about odd facts... I just found a snow weight calculator online. Entered the roof size of my house. Entered 12” of wet snow. Yeah... I have like two tractor trailers on the roof of my house right now. 🤣 😳

Wish I had known about it when I had my inboard powered boat. Absolutely no room for any tool to remove it.

Kubotas are little monsters. 9 times out of 10 they will handle WAAAY more than what they should.

Nice machine. That looks like a weird ass battery size, though. Not sure if I like that.

It’s ok to pre-fill oil filters with clean oil in the center. It’s NOT ok to pre-fill fuel filters in the center hole. In my opinion.

Same. We never fill fuel filters from the centre. Especially with common rail systems. The consequences of introducing contaminants are too high

@@craigmandall9420 The service manual on SISU engines tells you to pre fill the filters for the bleeding procedure. Drives me nuts because there is no electric lift pump and you would be there for days with the little hand primer if you don't pre fill those filters.
